T. Pitt Green is a pseudonym based on the nickname – Teresa Green Jeans – which the author’s father used for her as a child.TPG combined this childhood name with two streets in a nearby town – Green and Pitt Streets – at the intersection of which stands a Catholic school which is, by contrast with a school the author attended, safe.At that intersection of Pitt and Green Streets is, also, a statue of Mary, who played a central role in the author’s life and recovery.Ms. Green is the author of "Restoring Sanctuary". The book is a defense of the Catholic priesthood, Ms. Green happens to be a survivor of child sexual abuse by priests.Steeped in rich theology and in the wit of an Irish Catholic upbringing, this unflinching work weaves together charming memories, haunted hints at dark agonies, along with straight talk about surviving the trauma of child sexual abuse.T. Pitt Green discomforts the conscience and challenges the heart. You will close this book with clarity about the choice we face in cultivating healing in the royal priesthood and, with it, in the Church universal.
