Trina Ramsey is the owner and CEO of Perspective Plus Coaching which started in 2009 and she specializes in personal transformation and career transition. With 20 years of experience in business and management, Trina's is a "people person" and a change agent. Trina was trained by iPEC Coaching, where she learned the entire spectrum of coaching including careers, personal goal setting, relationships, spiritual, health and finances. Here are some highlights from today’s show:

-        She works with women who are in their mid-40s and mid-60s and have been stuck in a career that is no longer fulfilling their passion. She helps them into transitioning for them to get more joy into their life. She believes that many of us goes through life on autopilot that even if we are unhappy, stuck or dissatisfied we don’t slow down to give ourselves a mission.

-        Being transparent about our business allows other coaches reduce the learning curve. So much can happen while you are building business and being transparent in your business gives the opportunity for other coaches and businesses to grow and learn from the experience of other coaches in the field.

-        Investing in your education, especially if you are a coach, is one of the most important investments you can make. It will give you the skills that you need to make a difference in your client’s life and bring about the transformation you would like them to have. Get the necessary support you need, no matter what it is, because if you are not doing it the right way, it will cost you more in your business.

-        Outsourcing had been a great help especially if you are just starting out in your business. you as the business owner can focus on the things more important in bringing the bottom line to the business rather than spending the time on other things that are needed in the business (like graphic design, etc.) but not exactly your expertise. You have to find a freelancer that you are able to resonate with you and is able to put forth the results that speaks to your ideal client.

-        It took her a while to get her rhythm going – there came a time in her business where she became stuck (professionally and revenues wise) and that was the time she decided that she needed to be more intentional when it comes to expanding your footprint and being serious about getting your name and work in-front of more people.

-        She hosts her own radio show (Career Talk with Coach Trina) and she used this to get herself in front of her audience and also be able to leverage the connection she had with other coaches on the Life Coach Network. There are other similar opportunities that coaches can take advantage of – they can do a little research about how they can expand their reach and connect with networks.

-        What we learn over time is also one of the best things that we can teach other coaches, as we are able to teach people to look forward in spite of the things that can hold us back. Trina definitely emphasizes the key role of marketing as crucial in any business. When we come into the business, we are busy with wanting to help people and we get stuck in the cycle of giving out free sessions that we don’t make time to get ourselves out there and market ourselves.

-        Trina is most proud of being able to consistently get positive reviews, repeat business and referrals. She says this is important for businesses as this builds your know-like-and-trust factor with your audience.

-        Trina recommends The Desire Map by Danielle LaPorte as it is a book about life planning that uses your core desired feelings as the guidance system for your goal setting.

-        Trina observes that there are a lot of business coaches in the market right now and for new coaches, it is easy to be just a copycat of what other people are doing. She advises to build the business the way you would like to build it and build it the way it brings you the most joy and then work it.
