Established to encourage new ideas and a free exchange of thought, The City Club is the oldest continuous free speech forum in the country, renowned for its tradition of debate and discussion.Each Forum is an hour long program. The program starts with a brief introduction followed by a 25-30 minute address by the speaker. Spirited, insightful and often challenging questions from the audience fill the final half hour of the program.

A panel discusses the report, community building and progress, and how we can attempt to create space for meaningful interactions.
July 25, 2019: Growing Smart in Cleveland: Acting Like a Community Shareholder
Calvin Gladney, LEED AP, is President and CEO of Smart Growth America and is a nationally recognized thought leader on the equitable and sustainable revitalization of communities. Over the past 10 years, Mr. Gladney has worked on community revitalization projects in more than 25 cities and has served as a strategic advisor on projects with estimated development costs of over $1B and totaling more than 5M square feet of planned development. Mr. Gladney speaks to the City Club of Cleveland for the final forum in the Igniting the Future series, a conversation on the challenges posed by urbanization and climate change.
