Both the USA and China are Policy Mavericks; they promise but fail to act according to their policies. The problems lies with many of their middle to low income citizens who rely on markets that are losing favor among international countries due its harmful environmental impact. But, if you enact policies that restrict coal and oil excavation, How will you compensate those workers? They need alternative that pay the same amount. Also, They need to be retrained for their various alternative sectors. Policies are easy to be made, but policy makers shouldn’t overpromise without taking into consideration their effects on stakeholders.
