The Context of White Supremacy welcomes Anna Blatto. A graduate of the University of Buffalo with degrees in Sociology and Urban and Public Policy, Blatto is a part-time research associate for Partnership for the Public Good (PPG). Blatto is a White Woman. While in college, Blatto authored the 2018 report: A City Divided: A Brief History of Segregation in Buffalo. The report details a long deliberate, effort on the part of people classified as White to mistreat and subjugate black residents of west New York. This information helps explain the region where Payton Gendron hunted and killed ten black people at an east Buffalo Tops grocery store. We'll discuss the reasons why black people in Buffalo were victims of White Terrorism decades before Gendron was born.
