The Creative Impostor

Claimed
A Health, Self-Help and Business podcast featuring Andrea Klunder
Good podcast? Give it some love!
"Impostor syndrome." How does it show up for you - self-doubt, hesitation, procrastination, perfectionism, comparison, competition? Or a little gremlin in your head that says, "Who do you think you are? You can't do THAT!" You have something to share with the world -- maybe it’s just the spark of a creative idea or an entire world of inspired vision! Andrea Klunder and guests show you how to be BOLD and take action, to put your creative work into the world, to have your voice be heard despite all obstacles, fears and doubts. http://www.thecreativeimpostor.com

087: Creative Impostor stories for you and happy birthday to me!
Episode 087. "And during the whole experience, I thought I SHOULD make an audio journal, document what I was going through, but the few times I tried to record, I either sobbed or I just sat there staring at the time code counting up the seconds of my not knowing what to say." ~Andrea Klunder It's my birthday week! I don’t know about you, but birthdays are always a time of reflection for me — what has this past year meant for me and what lies ahead. It’s also a time to celebrate myself! And I am not above asking YOU for a gift. That’s right — and it will not cost you a thing, nor do you need my mailing address. What I would love more than anything is a story, an anecdote, a short acknowledgment that all the labor and love (and work) I put into producing this show means something to someone other than me! Here’s how… Go to thecreativeimpostor.com/titlelist.  Pick one of the episode titles listed there that resonates with you — it could be because you listened to that episode and it pinged something for you — or maybe you didn’t even listen to the episode, it’s just the phrase that holds some meaning. Write (200-300 words) or record audio (2-3min) -ish of a short story about how that phrase, idea, episode either influenced you or has shown up for you in your creative life or work.  You don’t need to do any editing. Even just a voice memo on your phone will be great. Email it to me andrea@thecreativeimpostor.com by January 1st, 2020. This is to help me celebrate 100 episodes which is coming up this spring!!! I know, I know, if you are not already a podcaster, recording your voice for public consumption may feel terrifying. Let me assure you that since you are a part of The Creative Impostor community, your story is going to be relevant to other listeners in this community.  If you share genuinely and authentically you will get nothing but love and knowing head nods back. Also sharing your insights, wins, fears, major failures, resilience, discoveries can be SO liberating and affirming. (truthfully, this is one of the main reasons I podcast.) And if you really want to contribute but you still feel too uncomfortable, you can always ask me to read or play your story anonymously. Of course if you want to shout your website, blog, etsy shop, podcast etc from the rooftops, include where we can find you! — Now, if there’s anything I’ve learned from teaching podcasting to high school students, it’s that sometimes it’s best to lead by example. So I picked a few of MY favorite titles and have some stories for you. Ready? Get the full show notes: http://www.thecreativeimpostor.com/087   Get started with your OWN podcast! BONUS: A reading and an invitation from To Be Worthy
You know I love trying new things! So here's a new thing... this bonus episode is being give to you outside of my usual publishing schedule, and it's shorter than usual. And that's because I'm inviting YOU to try something new. I'm experimenting with The Creative Impostor Online Media Club inside my private Facebook Group. A few weeks ago we heard from Monica Rivera about the process of creating and giving her recent TEDx Talk about loneliness. You can hear the edited version in episode 086. Now... Monday 11/18/19, we are hosting Charlotte Elea, author of the new book To Be Worthy via Facebook Live inside the group.  And you're going to hear a short excerpt of that book that I have intuitively selected just for you in this bonus episode! To join the media club, join the Facebook Group for free: http://www.thecreativeimpostor.com/fb Send me your questions for Charlotte EVEN IF YOU CAN'T MAKE IT LIVE. You can email me: andrea@thecreativeimpostor.com or post them in the group. If you DO join us live, even better! I'll be monitoring questions for Charlotte and we'll ask them. Questions could be about the content of her book, worthiness and the wounds that keep us from it, or the process of writing, crowdfunding and self-publishing. GET CHARLOTTE'S BOOK -- it's super affordable in Kindle version (just $3.99 at this time on Amazon), give it a read over the weekend, send me your questions, and then come chat with us Monday at 1:00pm CST.   Connect with Charlotte: To Be Worthy Website http://www.bigbeautifulbreakthrough.com/   Connect with me: Leave a podcast review in Apple Podcasts. 086: Speak about the hard things LIVE Q&A with Monica RIvera
Episode 086. “The talk is called The Flip Side of Loneliness. It addresses my cure for loneliness which, in a nutshell, I believe is an inside job.” ~Monica Rivera Do not be fooled by the length of this show! Brilliant things come in small packages or, in this case, short episodes. In fact, it’s perfect timing especially if you’re considering doing something crazy-brave. Like give a TEDx talk.  Her insights are about more than just what’s going through one’s head as they take the TEDx stage. Did I mention that Monica got up in front of a roomful of (mostly) strangers to talk about her experiences with bone-deep loneliness?  And yet… when you hear her explain the why and the how of her TEDx Talk, you’re listening to someone who had total conviction in her message.  One of my favorite quotes from Monica is humble yourself to know that what you don’t know is really important. She’s speaking of the entire experience, that whiteknuckle ride from speaker application to stage. And we’re all going to have to humble ourselves to things we just don’t know. What we learn about life in the process - about loneliness, about grief, about stepping outside our comfort zones - just might make an excellent TEDx topic.   Want to watch Monica Rivera’s TEDx Talk? Yes, you do! YouTube Listen to Monica’s podcast  YOU WANNA DO WHAT?!   Get the full show notes: http://www.thecreativeimpostor.com/086   This conversation was recorded live in The Creative Impostor Facebook Group as part of our Online Media Club. Join for free! Next up in the group! November 18th we are chatting with Charlotte Eléa about her new book To Be Worthy.   Be on The Creative Impostor for episode 100!
