Episode 97 - Rae Dean.

Dan Sterenchuk and Tommy Estlund are honored to have as our guest, Rae Dean. Rae was raised in Queens, New York. As a young person, she played volleyball and softball; participated in swimming lessons; studied modern dancing; and was involved in the theater. While growing up, she lived mostly with her father--who was in the military--which provided many opportunities to travel throughout the U.S. One of her fondest memories growing up was sitting on her father's back while he did push-ups.

Rae Dean has four children and lives in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. She is the founder of the Parent and Child Advocacy Team (PCAT) program and also the founder of Camp Stream, a summer camp for youth focused on science, technology, reading, engineering, arts, and mathematics. She keeps busy advocating for the well-being and mental health of impoverished youth. Her passion for these areas inspired her to run for the at-large seat for councilwoman in her area. This quote by Martin Luther King, Jr. helps guide her: "our lives begin to end the day we become silent about the thing's that matter."
