And then you get one and it's a great and you get it and it just one flies and

0:05

you're like, this is what we want right here.

0:12

Music.

0:23

All right, well, I want to welcome you guys to yet another episode of the Data

0:26

Chronicles. My name is Ed. And with me, guys, I got a treat for you guys.

0:30

I have the on-field MC host for the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp,

0:36

Jordan Price. How are you today? I am great. It's great and sunny in Jacksonville, Florida. The 60-degree sunshine.

0:45

I can't complain. I'm so jealous right now. It's 51 here in North Carolina.

0:49

It is sunny, though. So my wife just went out like to take our daughter to gymnastics.

0:55

And as she was like, do I need a jacket? I'm like, no, you really don't. It's sunny.

0:59

You don't need a jacket. It's like, that's how the perfect weather.

1:02

Well, in the sun, it's great. But when you're in the shade, you got a little

1:05

breeze. So it might be a little chilly. Right, exactly. So I get that. I was like, let me throw on a sweatshirt.

1:10

So I'm okay. Just in case, right?

1:13

Oh, yeah. All right. So Jordan, I want to get to know a little bit about you, right?

1:16

Because I want to know, how is it that you got into sports, right?

1:19

Because we all want to be into sports, right?

1:22

I've always wanted to work in for a baseball team or a basketball, whatever.

1:25

But you've been lucky enough to been working into sports, but how did you get into sports?

1:30

So I started cheering in high school, but then when I got out,

1:34

so I've been a dancer my entire life and we have, you know, the NFL team, Jacksonville Jaguars.

1:38

And so ever since I was little, I met the cheerleaders and I was like,

1:42

that's what I want to do. I want to be an NFL cheerleader.

1:44

So at 18, I became an NFL cheerleader. I cheered

1:47

all five years because you know they have a cap limit so i

1:51

cheered five years and i got down and i was like i still want to

1:53

be involved in sports i love sports i love the energy and whatnot

1:56

i always thought i was going to go into nascar because i'm a huge nascar girl

2:01

like love it and they had like the sprint cup girls well whenever i was like

2:06

coming out of the nfl they were doing away with the sprint cup girls and i was

2:09

like well what am i supposed to do now so i had a friend who worked for,

2:14

it was the Suns back in the day. They had a cheering team.

2:17

And so he was like, we actually need a cheering coach. Do you want to come and

2:20

do it? And I was like, absolutely. I still get to dance. I still get to be in sports.

2:24

Win-win. I don't have to do all, you know, the tricks and whatnot,

2:27

but I can still be a part of it. So I did it. And then when the jumbo shrimp come along and took over,

2:33

they were like, you know, we're not going to have the cheerleaders anymore.

2:36

And I said, well, I still want to be a part of it. Do you have something that I can do?

2:39

And they're like, we need an on-field host. And I'm like, I went to school for

2:43

it. Let's go. I never, you know, promo hosted a day in my life.

2:47

And so then I went out there and I loved it. I love the energetic crowd.

2:51

I love getting everybody pumped up, you know, making people's day.

2:53

Some people have never even touched a baseball field before.

2:56

So for them, it was a whole new experience. I'm like, I love bringing smiles to people's faces.

3:01

And so with that, I went into JU basketball, MCJU basketball for a little bit.

3:07

Then I went into Armada soccer. I MC'd and PA'd Armada soccer for a little bit. Never been a PA announcer.

3:14

I'm good with soccer. I don't have to do PA announcing for people.

3:19

I messed up some names in the soccer world. So I'm so sorry to them.

3:23

But then I just continue with Jumbo Shrimp and I absolutely love it. I'm on year 11 now. So.

3:30

Year 11, that's like, you know, not a lot of people tell us like,

3:33

oh, how long you work for the team? It's like, oh, only a couple of years.

3:35

And then I, I went on to do other things, but you're, you've stuck with, with the Jumbo Shrimp.

3:41

I know it's like you become family. There's a, there's a handful of us that's been there a while.

3:46

Lifestyle and so it's like you know it's fun to see everybody

3:49

grow and evolve you know get families and married and

3:52

whatnot it's just like we're one big happy family now so it's

3:56

hard i don't even want to think about leaving because i don't want to no you're

4:00

not you're not going to leave you're you're loving it so why why get why leave

4:04

that when you're forever exactly uh okay so let me ask you this right because

4:08

you know with with mc that takes a a whole different set of skill sets, right?

4:14

Because you're just on the, from, from, from start to finish,

4:19

you're on the, you're, you're on, right? Yeah.

4:22

So what is your typical day during the season, right? Well, I'll ask you about

4:26

the off season, but what is your typical day during the season?

4:29

When, when you're just, you gotta be on like, what, when do you start? When do you finish?

4:34

Well, so I have a full-time job. I'm a special needs teacher.

4:37

So I teach, I get up at 5 a.m. I know, first grade special needs. So my little babies, I love them.

4:44

But I get up at 5 a.m. I go to work. I teach special needs all day and I get

4:49

done. I go straight to the stadium. And it's funny because I'll be in the locker room getting ready because I go

4:54

to school and I'm not going to lie. I look like a bum.

4:56

I'm not like, there's no hair and makeup at 5 a.m.

5:00

So I go to the Jumbo Shrimp and I get ready.

5:04

Usually they're like two hours, two and a half hours before I get ready.

5:07

And then we go over like a script, the promos and things like that.

5:11

And then I chilled for probably about 45 minutes.

5:13

So I walk around and talk to people, you know, I know so many people at the

5:17

shrimp and the ushers and things like that. So I go and say hello to people.

5:20

I talk to people, you know, you want, I don't want to say I'm the face of the

5:25

shrimp, but you want to make sure that everything, everybody feels welcome.

5:29

I never want anyone to think that I will not talk to them. No,

5:32

I want to talk to everybody. Like I love everybody. Because you never know who you're going to meet. So I go around and say, hello. I go to the PA box.

5:40

I say hello to them. Make sure John and I are on the same wavelength because,

5:45

you know, he always shoots it down to me. And then I shoot it back up to him when I'm done.

5:49

Once the game gets started rolling, we're on. Like you got to be quick with

5:53

it. You got to be ready for anything, especially when the promos happen.

5:58

Because, I mean, we used to have the kids like run the bases or run Southpaw on the bases.

6:04

And you need to be ready because like I had one kid dart straight to center field.

6:08

And you're like, nope, somebody gets mid. Like, you know, you get thirsty Thursdays.

6:14

And some people participate a little bit too much in thirsty Thursdays.

6:18

So you got to be ready to like nip it in the bud. You got to be ready to see where they're going.

6:22

So it's a lot of you got to be on your feet and ready to go.

6:26

There's no room for distractions or anything like that.

6:29

And then once it goes, it goes. goes. And then we end it with, you know, some fireworks usually and call it a day

6:36

and then repeat it all over again. The next day, right? Like you're just like when during the season,

6:41

you're just, that's all you do that. I mean, so, and one of the questions that

6:45

I said I was going to ask you is because you are a parent, like,

6:48

you know, like myself, right? You know, we have, we have kids and how do you balance that out?

6:53

Right. I mean, that's has to be one of the toughest things to do.

6:55

Like, God bless you for, you know, being able to do all of that and still being

6:59

a parent, how is it, how do you balance that?

7:03

Well, I've actually gotten really lucky. She's with her dad on that weekend.

7:08

So it's worked out really well where anytime I have a jumbo shrimp weekend,

7:14

because I work Thursday through Sunday for shrimp, she's usually with her dad,

7:17

and he'll bring her and whatnot. So she's growing up at the ballpark, and she loves it. it.

7:23

So it's so amazing to be able to share what you love with the person you love the most.

7:29

Like Monday, we did a little photo shoot just for the merchandise and she ran

7:32

on the field, like she owned the place. You go girl. Like she's running up and down the stairs. She's running on things.

7:39

She's like, we're shrimp. And I was like, girl, it ain't time for the shrimp. You know, she'll do the chance.

7:45

She loves going jumbo shrimp, jumbo shrimp.

7:48

So anytime like I have have my gear on or anything like that she's already doing the chance

7:51

so I'm like she's been around it three

7:54

years now she knows what she's doing I don't have to worry about

7:56

her like I remember one game I had her on the field because

7:59

she was going to say play ball before the game she's over there high-fiving players

8:02

and they love her and they know who

8:05

she is so they're like giving her high fives you know playing with

8:08

her and whatnot and I was like it's such a family atmosphere and

8:11

I know that's what the Jumbo Shrimp wanted you know it's affordable family fun

8:15

fun so having her there and having people

8:18

see that interaction you know it's a family thing so

8:21

everybody loves it and I love being able to

8:23

share my life and my child with the fans and things like that that you know

8:28

and you're right because it's something that you want to involve your kids and

8:33

everything that you do for like you know for me you know when I'm doing like

8:37

you know I'm picking a new hat when I do my wheel of dad hats my daughter is

8:40

always there right and she She loves this.

8:43

She's like, you know, in the mornings before she goes to school,

8:45

say, hey, daddy, let's go and, you know, make a video real quick before I go

8:49

to school. I'm like, let's go kid. You know, you gotta, you gotta embrace those times when they want to be part

8:55

of what you do because that makes it even more special.

8:58

Yeah, especially like on Monday when we did the photo shoot,

9:01

she was like a little wild. And I was like, girl, you would pick the one day. I don't need you to be wild,

9:07

to be wild. I need you to tame it in just a little bit.

9:11

But the photos turned out great. So I couldn't complain.

9:14

I was like, these are great photos. Like, you know, it just shows her personality.

9:19

And she's so spunky like me. So I couldn't complain at all. I was like, you know, they captured the real true her. her.

9:25

I don't want her to be, you know, out there like, you know, that fake smile.

9:29

Yeah, exactly. I promise it wasn't forced.

9:32

No, they got her true, genuine self. And I was like, I can't complain.

9:36

Like those photos are amazing. That's awesome. I love that. Right. Because she's growing up in baseball.

9:41

You're teaching her. I mean, that's a great sport. Baseball is an absolute wonderful sport.

9:44

Right. So it's like, you know, something that, you know, you're able to share

9:47

with your daughter, right. That not a lot of people are able to do that. You know, the kids are not,

9:52

they don't grow up in sports. like, you know, like, you know, your daughter is doing?

9:56

Oh, yeah. And we had a so you know, I teach special needs.

9:59

Yeah, there's a baseball company here called walk off charities.

10:03

And they do field trips for third graders and Jackson was a free field trip.

10:08

They get a baseball glove and everything. So they actually agreed to have our whole special needs department come over.

10:15

And the amount of my children alone, who's never even played baseball,

10:21

they didn't know what a glove was they didn't know what a bat was they

10:23

didn't know how to swing so for them to teach

10:27

them it was a it was like you know such an eye-opening experience

10:30

but such an amazing experience at the same time so they're learning baseball

10:34

you know thing that i love but they're also getting those social skills that

10:38

interaction that they probably will never ever have that was a really cool experience

10:42

in general something that a question that just came up as you're saying that

10:46

that because you're a special needs teacher and, you know, and I want to know,

10:51

like, does, does both your, your jobs, your careers intertwine a lot of the times, right?

10:58

Because some of those skillsets that you have as an MC, I'm sure can come in

11:01

very, very handy when you are teaching your kids and vice versa, right?

11:06

Oh yeah. Well, first it's communication skills. So I got to be able to communicate

11:11

and I got to be able to communicate on like my kiddos levels.

11:14

And I got to be able to communicate thoroughly with jumbo shrimp.

11:18

You got to be quick witted. You got to be on your toes because my classroom

11:22

can go from zero to a hundred real quick with the behavior.

11:25

So it's just being ready. And it's always being kind of two steps ahead.

11:30

So if you see something about to happen, it's one of those things like,

11:34

all right, how can I prevent it? Just like on the field, you can see a promo is not going really well because

11:41

we have some flake every now and then, you know, or it doesn't.

11:44

Go as needed or wanted or something like that. So you kind of got to be ready

11:49

to be able to change it instantly. Are you going to be able to end it quickly? So say if a promo is taken too long,

11:55

I got to be able to look at the time clock because, you know,

11:58

we only got two minutes on and off the field. So I got to be able to be like, all right, this isn't going quickly.

12:03

We got to wrap it up. Ten, nine, eight, seven. Let's go kind of thing.

12:08

So both of it really intertwines. It's actually I never even thought about it

12:12

that way. But, yeah, it actually goes hand in hand for both of them.

12:15

And it's funny you say that. It's like, you know, you have to anticipate two steps ahead.

12:19

It's like I'm sure Thursday, Thursday is going to be the same thing. like you

12:21

definitely got to go three four steps ahead on that one

12:24

oh especially for every promo so it depends

12:27

on like which one we're going to do and david my

12:30

boss is really really good about selecting what promos

12:33

to do on thirsty thursday smart very smart yeah yeah

12:36

so like ribbon dancing is a hit i

12:40

know ribbon dance is going to be a hit you know we usually put

12:43

it later on in game game because you know we want

12:46

it we want it to be a fun fun dance but you

12:49

know we have promo stuff out there where they're by

12:52

the catcher they're by the dugout so

12:55

we're not going to have anybody running in the dugout right they're

12:58

not going to run into the players or anything like that they're

13:02

not going to run on the field and try to streak you know we always plan so we

13:06

always know where they're going to be and i kind of always stand not by the

13:10

dugout but by the field so just in case anything i'm by the field and i can

13:15

you know not like i'm gonna block really well but i'm gonna try my best to like

13:19

keep them in their little area yeah corral the man yeah.

13:22

Yeah, it's it. Yeah. And you're right.

13:25

Like, I mean, one of the most things that I enjoy when I go to a minor league

13:28

game is those events where you see like the dads or the moms,

13:33

like, you know, really interacting with the kids.

13:35

Oh, those are always fun because you're just dying. And I'm like, oh, yeah. Yeah.

13:40

My favorite is when you go, like our promo stuff is really good about going

13:43

around trying to find people for the promos and whatnot.

13:46

And the parents want to do it more than the kids.

13:50

I'm good. You know, they kind of got stage fright or whatever.

13:53

And the parents like, I'll do it. It's like they're reliving their childhood.

13:56

And I'm like, let's go better. I was a dance teacher forever. And we had a studio and the dance dads would

14:03

come and they loved being on the field, love doing the promos and things like that.

14:08

They actually, actually we kind of played a trick with the players we

14:11

have stars of tomorrow which is young teams that go out

14:14

and run with the players for anthem and stuff like that

14:17

and so we played a trick when i got a bunch of dance dads to be

14:20

the stars of tomorrow and so they ran

14:23

on the field with the players some players were like oh no like

14:26

they took off running and then you had some players

14:29

that were like this is the coolest thing ever like come on you

14:32

know we didn't tell them like we did

14:34

did not tell them at all we're like nope so that

14:37

you know they roll out and they see all these players out there and

14:40

they're like I mean not players they see all these dads out there and they're like

14:43

what in the world is going on like this is

14:46

not normal and we're like just go with it just roll with it let's just enjoy

14:51

it have fun because this is gonna it's not it's gonna happen whether you like

14:54

you're you're run away or not it's gonna happen yeah exactly they're gonna follow

14:59

you no matter what you do exactly oh it's even better when the parents follow

15:02

you or just to even make it more embarrassing.

15:06

Yeah. I can't wait for that part in my life when I'm embarrassing my daughter

15:10

just because I think, you know, my parents did that to me.

15:13

So I think it's like a rite of passage that you got to do it to your kid.

15:16

I feel like Lily would love it. Like she would love it.

15:20

And she's going to, we're going to attempt baby ball in the fall.

15:24

I thought about spring, but it was, it didn't work well with the shrimp schedule.

15:28

So I'm going to try to do baby ball in the fall. And I'm like,

15:31

oh, I'm going to be that mom. I'm 100% going to be that mom. Yeah, absolutely.

15:36

So when it comes to promotions, like, do you have an input in what those promotions are?

15:41

How are Don, what, what you guys bring in? Cause I'm sure every year you guys

15:45

are trying to do something different, something new.

15:47

So like how, what is your input when it comes to promotions?

15:52

David's really, really good coming up with promotion.

15:56

I'm not as clever as him, but if I see something like, cause you know,

16:01

you think about it and you're like, Oh, that probably wouldn't go so well.

16:04

Our, you know, it's better in a ML or in a basketball setting,

16:08

you know, some promos don't go as well with, with our minor league and what we do and whatnot.

16:13

So I did, I went to, I think the magic game or something like that.

16:17

And it was the oblivious cam. And I was like, I love this.

16:20

So like, I, I said, David, I was like, we got to figure out how to do this.

16:23

Like, this is the coolest thing. So some things that I can find on YouTube or TikTok or things like that,

16:29

I'm like, all right, let's see if we can do it. Some of it, David's like, let's try it and see if it fails. It fails.

16:34

If it doesn't, we'll rock with it. We're like, all right, let's go.

16:37

Fail, fail fast. And then learn from that and move on.

16:40

Yeah. I mean, David's really, really good with coming up. So if I have an idea,

16:44

I'll text it and shoot it to him and we can go with it or we can tweak it or

16:47

we can be like, nah, that ain't gonna work. But he's really good with open-ended suggestions, but he comes up with the majority

16:54

of them. I got to give him credit. That's awesome. I love that.

16:58

And during the time in a game, you know, that you're not...

17:02

Well, obviously, cause you're on the go, but like, do you usually have time

17:05

to do different things or is this just, you know, this is all I'm doing.

17:08

Like, you know, I am doing this for, you know, first inning to ninth inning,

17:13

you know, is that what you do the whole time? Or do you do something different as well?

17:17

It depends on the game. Like sometimes we do have a break.

17:20

So say I'll do a promo and then I might get to inning or an inning break and

17:25

then I'll go and do another promo. And then it's like back to back to back. Oh, wow.

17:30

So it just depends. And it's like, sometimes I can go around and say,

17:32

Hey, if I have friends or family there, I can go say, Hey, or sometimes I don't have time to do nothing.

17:38

Like I'm going from center field to right field.

17:41

So the Tiki back to home plate, like I get my exercise.

17:45

I will say that you get your steps in like running stairs soon.

17:50

Cause like I gave him a cardio backup for this.

17:52

Here we go. We got to get going. Like you're as your spring training now.

17:57

Yeah. I got to start doing, I got a month. months so i started

18:00

doing something because if not i don't want to be huffing and puffing on

18:03

the camera yeah right no you definitely don't want

18:06

to do that anybody it's like you know it's like what happened like nothing don't

18:08

worry about it i just went from one field to the side to the other side don't

18:10

worry about that i'm like give me give me like a 10 second intro real quick

18:14

let me catch my breath i was like i need you to go ahead and just give you a

18:19

second oh yeah i've been there done that i've been on the little walking hey

18:23

i'm gonna need i'm gonna need a quick second like Like,

18:26

John, you got to say something because I got to catch my breath.

18:29

That's awesome. What's, you know, tell me about one of those,

18:34

you know, promos that you're like, man, this thing just did not work out.

18:38

You're like, you thought it was going to be the greatest thing on earth and it just flopped.

18:43

I mean, we have one, you know, the big blow up balls that people get it. Yeah.

18:49

It's always a hit or miss. Always. I would think that would be a good thing.

18:54

Listen. in. So I love it. Like I'm always ready for it, but sometimes you get

18:59

some people and they just run and they don't do anything. And so you're like, all right, let's set it back up. You know,

19:04

let's do it again. Come on. Who are we going for? You know, green or red? They do it. Nothing.

19:09

And you're like, somebody knock somebody out, please.

19:12

And then you get one and it's a great, and you get it and it just one flies

19:17

and you're like, this is what we want right here.

19:21

Like yeah you know you're like pumped up i'm

19:24

kind of getting more excited than the crowd gets sometimes because they're

19:27

like finally yeah that are the

19:30

flying chickens so the flying rubber chickens with the

19:33

sim shot um oh it's great

19:37

when it's you know flying in the air

19:40

but then if you get somebody slinging it and it just flops down

19:43

it's like you're like but my favorite is whenever never david i love david like

19:50

i love giving him so much crap if david's shooting it and it goes down i'm like

19:54

you can email david at jack trump.com he's like brilliant i'm like yeah,

20:02

So just wait for the emails. So it's one of those is like, sometimes it's a really good promo because they're

20:09

flying in the air and they're catching them and whatnot.

20:12

Sometimes we get them in the granny panties. Like we got these giant granny panties.

20:16

And so they'll be running around with granny panties, like trying to catch the

20:20

rubber chickens flying. And then sometimes, you know, it's just a flop. It's like, Oh no.

20:26

So then my favorite is when the crowd starts booing and you're like,

20:30

hang on the phone. when the crowd starts booing and you're like, it ain't me.

20:35

Go ahead and blame them. That's them. I put them on it. They were supposed to take care of it.

20:41

Hey, the crowd interaction is completely fine because I'd rather them be booing than be silent.

20:46

You're right because then at that point, they're not paying attention to you.

20:48

That means they're paying attention. Exactly. That's interesting. I love that. Because I never thought about that bouncy ball, right?

20:55

It's like, okay, if you get someone in there that's like really,

20:58

because me, I will be the type of person then i would want to like you know

21:02

slingshot somebody like you know 40 50 yards no i thought it was going to always

21:07

be that way and then sometimes you just kind of when they're like,

21:11

and they're like all right let's waste that like you gotta keep the amping up

21:14

because you're like we're going to have one good one like we are and then all

21:18

you know best two out of three and they're all three like you're like this is

21:23

a dog all right team red you tried your best.

21:27

Like so at that point you know because of you know obviously it's a dud right

21:31

like you know you're like it didn't work out right like do you be like all right you know oh well you know,

21:37

you should have done better or like do you do something like that

21:40

along those lines to be like you know they they blew it

21:42

it depends sometimes it depends

21:46

on what's going on and who's around and whatnot in

21:49

the time limit yeah sometimes i'm like all right we gotta wrap it

21:51

up all right great try better luck next

21:54

time right or sometimes you know if I got my

21:57

sassy pants on I'm like bless your heart like you

22:00

try yeah that's

22:04

something that I had to get used to here in the south is the bless your heart

22:08

it's my favorite because everybody knows like go ahead oh you're good everybody

22:16

knows like my opening line is hey y'all like I am the hey y'all person I'll

22:21

be like Like, hey, I'm down here with so-and-so or hey,

22:23

like they know that's my opening line. Right.

22:26

I can run into people I've never met and they're like, hey, y'all.

22:29

And I'm like, you come to a jump to Trump game.

22:32

But my favorite like little, you know, tagline whenever something doesn't go

22:37

well, bless your heart, you tried. Yeah.

22:41

You know bless it i it's something

22:45

that like as soon as i hear that it's like you know

22:48

when everyone tells you bless your heart you're like it's not

22:50

good like you didn't do good okay so it's

22:53

like don't think that they're being you know positive it's just like

22:56

you tried yeah good for you

22:59

oh sweetheart oh sweetie

23:04

you're like we always had

23:07

a thing like with the jaguars when we were cheering

23:11

like if we went to an appearance or something like

23:14

that and you had a drunk fan that maybe was crossing the

23:16

line anytime we heard oh you that

23:20

was like coming and saved the day like anytime we

23:23

heard the oh you something was

23:26

happening and we had to come save the cheerleader i like

23:30

that as you guys had like you know it's like oh you're like oh here we go

23:32

we gotta go we got to go help out yeah and

23:36

i kind of like some of the promo staff kind of

23:39

know like i'll have a look so say if

23:42

you know it's a thirsty thursday or anything like that it's just

23:44

a look like hey come save me like we got to go like wrap it up kind of thing

23:48

so you always gotta have a code or a look yeah let me ask you and this is going

23:55

to be something on you know jaguars related it's like that i'm sure that was

23:59

a lot of fun but i'm sure that was also a lot very tough to to have to,

24:03

you know, the workouts and all of the choreographs.

24:08

I'm sure that was fun and tough at the same time, wasn't it? Oh, yeah.

24:13

Looking back, I don't know how I did it. I was a full-time college student.

24:17

I taught dance. I worked at an animal hospital and I was an NFL cheerleader.

24:21

We had practice Tuesday, Thursday, Saturdays, games on Sundays.

24:25

I don't know how I've survived. Like I have no idea.

24:28

And then, you know, you're supposed to work out in between that.

24:31

And so So, you know, there were some nights that we, I think it was like seven to nine, seven to 10.

24:37

And we would do kick line like 50 times and kick line is my favorite. So it's fine.

24:42

But it's like, sometimes you're just tired and trying to remember the choreography.

24:46

We had three new dances every week. Oh, and then you have to perform them on Sunday.

24:51

Oh yeah. So you got to think you got three different dances.

24:54

You got to remember where you stand. If you were beside your partner,

24:58

like you've got to remember the hashes, the lines, you know,

25:01

So it's got to be perfect. Like you got to be on.

25:04

And so you didn't have time for mess ups. And then, you know,

25:08

we would have, so whenever we started the London series, we were the first team

25:14

to go to London and cheer at London.

25:16

So it was on, you know, like we had to be the best. So we would have this game.

25:21

On Sunday and then we turned around and learned these three new dances and then you had to,

25:27

practice practice we get to London and you have to perform it but then that

25:31

doesn't include the on air the radio and everything else and then these performances

25:37

the day of we're outside Wembley and you have to good thing was we could break

25:42

these dances down that we learned into stingers So our little sideline,

25:46

like three, eight count dances, we could go perform them real quick.

25:51

And it was fine because we would throw it to his music. Like you would be like,

25:54

all right, we're going to do, we had names for him.

25:57

So we're going to do Up, Down, La La, and whatever else we called Kesha.

26:02

Those were like a stinger names. All right, we're going to throw those three

26:04

together and we're going to perform it outside Wembley real quick.

26:07

And so we just always had to be on.

26:10

So it was a lot trying to balance everything and then learn the dances.

26:14

And remember the dances but we learned quickly

26:18

as a team like you start yelling out what's next

26:21

so say you know if we're doing that dance

26:24

and we get done with the la la stinger okay we're

26:28

gonna do ups and that's next five six seven eight so we were really good about

26:31

keeping it up yeah kind of thing you know and i didn't even know my role oh

26:37

you're good so like my role for like kick line was yelling out what's next so

26:41

we did straight kicks corner kicks fan kicks things like So like,

26:45

I was like, all right, straight kicks. And then, you know, we get done with that corner kick.

26:49

So we all had roles, but we always helped each other out.

26:54

I didn't even know that for cheerleaders, there was a, it was only a five-year contract kind of thing.

26:59

And then, you know, onto something, you had to do something different.

27:02

That's, I didn't even, you know, didn't even really cross my mind because in

27:06

Cleveland, there was no, there's no cheerleaders. Right. So that's something that, yeah.

27:10

So there was nothing that you can, that you thought of when you were,

27:13

you know, when you had an NFL game.

27:16

Yeah. I want to say, I mean, other teams have different years.

27:19

I think maybe Dallas has six years, five or six years.

27:23

I want want to say Patriots was like three years for a while,

27:26

but I think most teams adapted the five year rule.

27:29

Cause whenever I came on, they just made the announcement for five years.

27:32

So there was a lady on there for 13 years. You have people on there for six years, eight years and whatnot.

27:38

And it was really cool to see that. Like, I mean, if we didn't have a rule,

27:42

I'd probably be still doing it for a few more years, but it just gave other

27:46

people the opportunity to come and experience that NFL experience.

27:50

That's pretty cool. It's different, right? You got to go to London.

27:53

I I mean, you got to do some cool things when I went to London six times, so I can't complain.

27:59

Oh, my God. Really? So we when we announced that the Jaguars were going to be

28:06

like the home team for London, we went we did a Super Bowl party.

28:09

We did. We went and watched. I think it was like the Rams and the Patriots play

28:14

just to see like what it was the experience was.

28:17

I got to do a photo shoot there. We did our calendar shoot there.

28:21

We got the cheer of the game another super bowl

28:24

party just different things like that i remember

28:27

one time i went for like 12 days so we got

28:30

to experience the like previous game we got it

28:33

was like when we were doing the very first game we got to go beforehand and

28:38

you know say hey the jags are coming get excited get pumped up and then we got

28:42

to stay a little bit afterwards to do like follow-up interviews on tv bbc network

28:47

bbc radio things like that wow didn't even it doesn't

28:51

that's a totally different side of the business that you don't get to think

28:55

about like you know those the interviews uh the the appearances and things like

28:59

that it's just you gotta and you're on,

29:03

the whole day hair and makeup the uniforms like you are on all day long oh my

29:10

god like you just want like at the end of the day just like i just want to go

29:13

to the bed and just not do anything well the fun part was is we went out and

29:17

about afterwards because like you do all this all day day long.

29:20

And you're like, no, we got to experience London. Like we are in London.

29:23

We got to go. So we would go inside. See, like there was one time in that 12 day experience, we got a day off.

29:29

So we went to Paris for the day. So you did that like 6am train, which, you know, we're all doing hair and makeup

29:35

from yesterday. So it was all right. So we went, we went to Paris, we had like an eight hour tour day and then came straight back.

29:42

Why not? Yeah. I mean, take advantage of it, right?

29:46

Oh, we did. We loved it. Like we got to do all kinds of things.

29:49

And, you know, some of the clubs let us come in because they're like,

29:52

although you got NFL cheerleaders in here, so you got to experience a little

29:56

bit of the nightlife and you got to experience, you know, Buckingham Palace,

30:00

the coolest experience ever.

30:02

We're at Buckingham Palace and we're looking at everything. You know,

30:06

we just saw, I guess, changing of the guards and whatnot.

30:08

And we're walking down the street and we hear sirens and everything.

30:11

Thing we're like what is going on like everybody stopped

30:14

everybody's got their phone out and we're just like what is

30:17

going on we had no idea it was the queen the queen

30:20

drove by and we are all none of us had our cell phones out oh we were all like

30:27

i'm telling you the queen waved at us and our mouths were wide open oh like

30:32

we were all like oh my gosh the queen that's awesome we were frozen Closed in time.

30:40

Like, and there was like 12 of us. And we're like, not one of us got a picture of the queen. Oopsie.

30:47

I know. But we were so shocked. We're like, this is really happening.

30:51

And, you know, not many people can say they've seen the queen up close in person.

30:54

And I mean, there was no tinted windows, no nothing.

30:57

And she's just, you know, sitting in the back waving. And we're just like,

31:00

did this really happen? Like, we really just saw this.

31:04

So it was cool. Cool. That goes down in my history, but that's pretty cool.

31:10

It's like, you know, you can't, you know, equate being in the NFL to obviously,

31:14

you know, like, and experiencing all of that.

31:16

But that's what makes experiences like I've always, I'm a huge believer in experiences

31:22

are really what matters right now, right?

31:24

When you get to a certain age, you're like, listen, I don't need anything.

31:27

If I want something, I'll buy it. You know, like, I just want the experience

31:31

because it's just, this is cool stuff.

31:34

Yeah. Just like this past year, I went to London for the 10th anniversary game.

31:39

And I'm like, I went there the first year, like I was the first cheerleader to do this.

31:45

And then now coming back 10 years later as a fan and just seeing how much it's evolved.

31:50

And some of the guys are still in the security team. So I get to still see my

31:54

security that I had 10 years ago. And it was just fun to catch up with everybody that I know in London.

32:01

And, you know, thank goodness for social media because I'm able to keep up with them.

32:05

They've seen me evolve for the last 10 years. They see I have a kid and they've

32:08

gotten married and they've had kids and things like that.

32:10

So it was just really cool to go back and see everybody and see how,

32:16

you know, the experience is still going on. You know, we start, I don't want to say we started it, but, you know,

32:21

we started, it was the first and then seeing it continue on. Thank you.

32:25

And the Jaguars would go every year. I mean, that's just like,

32:28

you know, cause I have a friend of mine who's a, you know, big,

32:31

massive, um, you know, Jaguars fan.

32:34

And I'm like, you're guaranteed a London game, no matter what,

32:37

that's what it is with the Jaguars. You will always guarantee the London game. Yeah. I love it.
