The town of Firestone, about 30 miles north of Denver, is one of the fastest-growing places in the state. 20 years ago, It had only about 2,000 people. That number now stands at around 16,000. And town leaders expect the population figure to double in the coming years. But Firestone’s growth was becoming increasingly constrained due to a lack of one natural resource: Water. Colorado Sun reporter Chris Outcalt looked into how Firestone responded to the problem. He spoke with fellow Sun reporter John Ingold about what he learned.
