Sometimes in life, we have one of those truly transformational periods, the kind that you remember for the rest of your life as a pivotal moment where you shifted directions or levelled-up for good. Back in 2012, when I was desperately yearning to break out of the employee quadrant, I encountered Steve Curtis and his rapidly growing business. This high spirited, surfer-looking dynamic dude with about the same age as me was where I wanted to be at the time. His philosophy and method of operating in the world, and financial success captivated me and I took a job with his company; the last job I've ever had. By working with Steve, I learned (in secret) how an entrepreneur operates, how an entrepreneur thinks, and how an entrepreneur puts his neck on the line, over and over and over again.
After a year and a half of working under Steve's leadership, I felt capable of breaking off on my own to build my own company, and I haven't looked back (unless under times of great stress, maybe for a second, from time to time.)
I randomly bumped into Steve at the Psychedelic Science conference in Oakland this year and coincidentally we were filming interviews for our new documentary, The Plant Teacher. So, we sat down with Steve and Andrea Gilbert interviewed him.
This is a short but interesting conversation with a very cool guy. You will be left with questions and a fresh new perspective spinning in your head!
With great pleasure, I introduce an old friend and mentor of mine, a Mr. Steve Curtis.
Enjoy!
Daniel
