Dennis J. McKenna is an American ethnopharmacologist, research pharmacognocist, lecturer and author. He is the brother of well-known psychedelics proponent Terence McKenna and is a founding board member and the director of ethnopharmacology at the Heffter Research Institute, a non-profit organization concerned with the investigation of the potential therapeutic uses of psychedelic medicines.
Daniel and Dennis sit down to discuss Dennis's adventures and forty-plus year long journey into the world of ethnobotany and ethnopharmacology. Dennis shares his views on how the ayahuasca medicine should be practised, what he thinks about drug education and legalization, his experiences with DMT and psilocybin, and what he's keeping busy doing at the moment. This was a fun discussion with Dennis, diving into some areas where he doesn't usually go.
