This is a mind-blowing episode and one of my favourites to date.  Science and spirituality author and futurist, Kingsley Dennis, PhD, takes us on a journey to better understanding the world in which we live, and the future in which we will be living. Kingsley has written 15 books throughout the course of his career, ranging from topics such as peak oil to fictional heroes' journeys through apocalyptic landscapes, and softer studies on the integration of science and spirituality.

His studies and academic experience are vast which is evident in the way he educates listeners about the relevant issues of his speciality.  In this episode, we discuss globalisation, technology, societal systems of control, renewable energy, the transition from the old institutionalised form of knowledge to the radically transformed future, quantum physics, psychedelics and meditation.  He also shares some advice for budding authors about how to receive inspiration and how to get your work published.

Listen, learn and enjoy!

Here is Kingsley's bio:

Kingsley L. Dennis BA, MA (distinction), PhD, is a sociologist and writer. He worked as a lecturer in English & American Literature for several years at a university in Istanbul, Turkey. More recently he lectured in Social Theory at Lancaster University and was a Research Associate within the Centre for Mobilities Research (CeMoRe). He co-authored After the Car (Polity, 2009), which examines post-peak oil societies and mobility. This provocative and insightful book examined how several major processes are shaping the future towards a "post-war" and "post-peak-oil" world; such as resource depletion; climatic changes; increased digitisation of many aspects of economic and social life; and massive global population increases. His research interests include complex systems; media & communication networks; social technologies; alternative futures & future forecasting. He also has a deep interest in consciousness studies, the new sciences and how to bridge these areas of research. As well as academic training Kingsley has also lived and worked for many years overseas, including five years in Turkey. During this time he has travelled widely and has had many varied experiences and contacts. Kingsley currently lives in Andalusia and is the author of the books 'New Consciousness for a New World' (Inner Traditions, 2011); 'The Struggle For Your Mind: Conscious Evolution and the Battle to Control How We Think' (Inner Traditions, 2012); 'New Revolutions for a Small Planet' (Watkins, 2012); and co-editor with Ervin Laszlo of 'The New Science & Spirituality Reader' (Inner Traditions, 2012) . He believes in living a more sustainable and self-sufficient lifestyle. He currently lives off the water mains and relies on his own 30-metre water well. He continues to research, write, travel, grow his own vegetables, and seek to understand life's mysteries. His books and more information can be found on his website.
