This audio drama is a prequel to a trilogy of soon-to-be-published science fiction novels by Emily Inkpen but it is very well produced and I hope that it eventually reaches some degree of completion. I'm paraphrasing this from the description page. The Dex Legacy is interested in accountability. Who is responsible for the deaths from a detonated bomb? The person who designed it, the person who sold it, or the person who detonated it? And what if the weapon is a heavily modified and trained teenager? The three super soldier characters are all pretty interesting in their own right but for my money, the most interesting characters are the three most culpable beings for all the death and destruction: Nathaniel Dex, Osa (lead weapons designer), and Tristan (head of security). All three are keen to debate and deflect about who is really responsible. All three show varying degrees of affection, concern, and callous disregard of the youngsters' personhoods that is just chilling to listen to. Osa is the least directly abusive parental figure but her compliant inaction doesn't save the kids from getting tortured. It's a fine needle to thread and I have to commend the script and performances.
