Today we speak with Deeann Rieves - a mixed media, abstract artist who has an intricate process that includes painting, stitching, and working with collage.

We were so encouraged hearing the stories of how her high school and college teachers, as well as her parents and grandparents were a huge source of support and encouragement to her, especially in the beginning when she wasn't sure if she would ever make a living with art.

We discuss the ways her art has changed over the years, how she created a studio practice and the self discipline that takes!, and why it's helpful to set your own deadlines!

Deeann is an amazing example of DOING THE THING and giving it a try first before pursuing a backup plan, and she shares what happened when her worst fear finally happened.
