In 1866, a magical crystal was discovered in Medicine Rocks, Montana, and promised to usher in a new technological revolution. Mary Good Crow is a half-Lakota girl, rejected by both her country and people, who possesses the ability to hear the crystal's song. After Josie Price, niece of Sam Price and new owner of the largest mining company, comes to town, the two of them team up with a crystal powered gunslinger to find Sam Price's last big claim.
