Conflict Coaching and Neurobiological Patterns in Conflict with Anastasia Priyanikova

Marketers tell stories and mediators hear stories. And this is just the beginning of the story.
WELCOME to the SHOW, this is EPISODE #10 of Earbud_U!
Many folks in the field of peacemaking and peace building are trying many different things to get the attention of a world that is changing all around them.
When this works, it’s beautiful, like with my guest today, Anastasia Priyanikova. Her and her partner have developed a star-up focused on all the most interesting parts of the mediation and storytelling experience, and are working within a unique collaboration of artists, writers and other creatives to produce their best work.
In many of my corporate training experiences, the most difficult conversations that I have are not with people about other people—although those are the ones that many people want to focus on—but the conversation that have the most impact are those that people have with themselves.
We blame, shame, and transfer our guilt onto other people and then we wonder why nothing ever works out.
We don’t talk to other people and have an expectation that they will all read our minds, know what we want, and magically give it to us.
We wander through our days, wondering “What’s wrong with those people?” When in reality, the problem is us.
Stories get us past this and toward something else. We know that they work. Heck, look at the entire history of man, from the caves to the skyscrapers and everything in between.
We tell ourselves stories, and then create identities that reinforce those stories and then wonder why we get into conflicts.
And now, a bit of the usual stuff:

Now, one last thing. The audio quality of this interview was interrupted by a series of annoying pops. Well I tried to get rid of (and reduce the volume of) as many of them as I possibly could. But I didn’t get all of them. So, bear with us, and accept our apologies. It’s a quality conversation, in spite of the interruptions.
Now…let’s get into it!
