This podcast episode is the first of two on the subject of people of colour in the business world.  It features two conversations, the first with a black man and the second with a woman of Indian heritage.  

The man is Andy Best, MD of Change++, who tells some frankly gobsmacking stories of the way he has been treated in the world of business because of his colour.  He also has some insightful things to say about how the world is now changing and can continue to do so.

I’m sad to say that the world is such that my female guest (of Indian heritage) preferred not to be named.  Much of the conversation with her was around her time working for a large corporate, how some of their people behaved, how she reacted then, and how she feels now.  If her name was ‘out there’, then the corporate would be easily identifiable, and she doesn't want that to happen.

This episode is not easily listening.  They were not fun conversations.  But I think the time is right for me to have these conversations, and for you to perhaps consider having such conversations with others, whatever colour your skin.

My next episode will feature a man of Pakistan heritage, and a woman who was born and lived her early years in Iran.  Two more perspectives adding to the conversations on this theme.
