This episode did a good job of looking at this public health issue from a contemporary American perspective. It did not do a great job of giving perspective on why someone would hold the values of community cooperation and mutual care as highly as they value individual freedom. I know it's hard for young Americans to imagine a society based on mutual support and obligation, but it has been commonplace for most people in most places at most times. I think good arguments can be made for both moral frameworks, but I don't think this episode did them justice.
