On this episode, we follow up on some of the conversations we have been having about mail in prison during COVID. In his first few weeks in office, Biden has directed the attorney general to phase out the Justice Department’s use of private prisons...however, the use of private contractors in the prison system to provide basic needs and services to prisoners is growing. Currently, there is a program in the works to end all physical mail behind bars.
Join us as we discuss the Mail Guard program, as well as some of the pros and cons of getting physical mail while behind bars. This is an ongoing and urgent topic, and we would really love to tell some of your stories about what getting/sending/receiving mail in prison means to the incarcerated, as well as those who love them.
We love you for listening, and can't wait to hear your questions, feedback, and experiences from anyone who has had their life impacted by the felony conviction of a loved one... and we share them with our listeners.
