This week at The Film Club we’re concluding our Johnny Depp month with his musical slasher film, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street! The film follows Sweeney Todd formerly Benjamin Barker a barber who was falsely imprisoned and separated from his family for fifteen years. After becoming Sweeney Todd he returns to London to find his wife and daughter as well as get his revenge on Judge Turpin the man that exiled him. After finally making it back to the building that he used to call home he meets a woman named Mrs Lovett who runs a Meat Pie Shop on the ground floor. Mrs Lovett recognizes who Sweeney really is and relays the tragedy that his family faced after he was taken away, and she reunites him with his straight razors which will begin his journey of revenge.
