This month at The Film Club we’re talking about Star Wars! And to begin the month what better way than starting with Episode I: The Phantom Menace! The film follows Jedi Knight Qui-Gon Jinn and his young padawan apprentice Obi-Wan Kenobi who are on a mission to negotiate the end of the federation blockade of the planet Naboo. When the two Jedi realize the negotiations were a trap they escape their captors, while on the run Qui-Gon saves the life of a clumsy Gungan named Jar Jar Binks. Jar Jar offers to take Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan to his secret city so the Jedi can convince the Gungans to unite with the people of Naboo to battle against the Federation.
