Faruk is a postdoctoral researcher at SciLifeLab, he develops machine learning models to define robust signatures that capture the spectrum of vaginal microbiome configurations associated with reproductive health states.

He also resolves the phylogenetic placement of the key vaginal symbionts through multi-locus phylogenomics using metagenome-assembled genomes and marker genes.

With over 5 years of experience in bioinformatics and data science, he has a strong background in genome analysis, virus culture, and whole genome sequencing.

He has successfully combined wet-lab experiments with sophisticated bioinformatics approaches to unravel the mechanisms of ivermectin drug resistance in pathogens, resulting in multiple publications and presentations.

He is keen to apply my expertise in bioinformatics to innovate and drive forward projects in biomedicine, leveraging my comprehensive skill set to tackle new challenges and contribute to advancements in the field
