In this first Episode of Season 2, Carla was surprised to find herself on the other side of the microphone, that of guest and not of host!  And that was because Shelley Tonkin Smith did the most sterling job of taking over The Free 2B Curious Podcast.  It was the most un-hostile of takeovers and one that revealed so much about both Shelley and Carla as they shared some of the things that matter most to each of them. 

Shelley felt quite comfortable in The Free 2B Curious studio as she is a multi-podcaster having hosted not one, not two but THREE podcasts starting with the limited-edition season of Simply Biz Besties co-hosted with Francesca Woltanski, then moved onto her own venture called The Playful Mompreneur where Shelley interviews other mompreneurs and also shares her entrepreneurial and copywriting expertise and she also co-hosts another podcast with Rowena Mabbot called Two Booked Up which is Carla’s current favourite thing to listen to. 

In addition to hosting these content rich podcasts, Shelley is also a copywriter and says her tagline is “I write stuff so you can sell stuff” which she does through her own business called Shelley Smith Creative. Shelley explains more about what copywriting is and the kind of work she does. 

Expect to hear Carla share more about her journey to podcasting and what the inspiration for that venture was and where Shelley and Carla overlap on certain values like self-directed education and self-directed lifestyle choices.  They discuss what home schooling looks like for each of their families, what books they are reading, what work they are doing and their very own online course coming out in July called Podcast Jump Start where Shelley and Carla will be sharing all they know to get anyone started on podcasting, and get behind the why for people who want to plan their podcast from day one to meet their goals whether those goals are monetization, brand recognition, the sale of digital assets, self-actualisation and more.
