In this episode of The Freenoter, Tamsen calls in from her speaking engagement in Dallas to chat about how to get gigs as a Freenoter: the craft of writing speaking proposals, enlisting the help of clients, and even when it makes sense to create your own event. Tom talks about how he used to write proposals, and how he changed, while Tamsen shares her own best practices for compelling speaker proposals from her previous experience as an event organizer. We also take some listener mail from Cathy McPhillips, learn what Phil Jones has to teach us about Exactly What to Say to get speaking gigs, and (apropos of Tamsen’s trip to Dallas) we treat each other (virtually) to a cocktail called The Aviation.
