honjok was born and raised on the shores of The Misery Coast.  He received his formal education in filmmaking, after formative years dabbling with synthesizers.  honjok marks his return to electronic “music” decades later, this time with a focus on manipulated and effected found sounds and field recordings.

"Breath Watch Needle" was created entirely from one manipulated sample of the deathwatch beetle's knocking. While the deathwatch beetle signals becoming-death, mediation might signal a suspension of becoming, while at the same time handling this negotiation of becoming-death and the dead becoming in a nuanced experiment. 

honjok recently created the soundtrack for the short film Extraordinary Measures, by Sasha Opeiko + Martin Stevens, which was created in response to COVID-19, social distancing and isolation in domestic space.
