Coach Krysta sits down with Mindset Coach Annette Weiss to talk all things burn out, finding your purpose in the world, and leading from a place of intentional selfishness in order to be your absolute BEST version of YOU. Growing up in organized religion, spending time as a women’s ministry director, 20+ years of being an entrepreneur, and mentoring new business owners in mindset development, Annette firmly believed that being “selfless” and putting other’s needs before her own was the proper common denominator for her life. In 2021, after the consecutive loss of her two most influential mentors, her parents, she came to the abrupt end of life as she knew it. Little did she know that with her selfless mindset, combined with various life traumas, it would lead to complete burn out. She then put her years of leadership to work and began the exhilarating journey of self-discovery. Today, Annette uses her combined experiences, passion and expertise to teach and equip others how to break their habitual cycles, set personal and/or business goals, and lean into the freedom of living the life they have always dreamed of.
In this episode, Krysta and Annette discuss:
- Why women tend to pour from an empty cup, especially as mom's, and the societal messaging that contributes to that mentality being the "right thing" to do
- How losing both of her parents within less than a year of one another led to Annette's own burn out
- How Annette found herself again--specifically the daily routines and habits she incorporated to create better boundaries in her life. These habits include: waking up early, journaling, and exercise, to name a few
- Annette's willingness to go through what she calls her mental 'filing cabinet' and why you should do the same to face your traumas head-on
