William Murtha Bio

With a successful 30-year corporate background in sales, production and construction, William worked on many of the UK’s most popular TV and outdoor productions. These included: Glastonbury Festival, ITV’s The Cube, Strictly Come Dancing, The Baftas, and The Brits. In 2004, he decided to sell his share in the Devon based company he had founded, and instead concentrated solely on developing his new business interest, TLC-Transformational Leadership Coaching.Now trained and accredited with The Institute of Leadership & Management (ILM) in London, he coaches high performers from a wide range of sectors including, Leaders and Directors within the corporate world, elite sports, creatives and TV personalities. Helping clients to identify their core strengths and capacities, William helps them to develop greater resilience, grit and personal focus. Working closely with Organizational Development Psychologists and global experts in the field of Leadership and Management studies, he supports high achievers to attain greater all round balance. By helping them to challenge old mindsets and self-sabotaging habits, he assists clients to understand what is really road-blocking their path towards peak performance and well-being. The author of two best-selling books, the second-Visionaries-involved interviewing over 500 pioneering innovators. Trying to understand the success habits, attitudes and growth mindset approach of people at the top of any given profession, he mapped the common patterns of behaviour that often led to fulfilling, successful and happy careers. Drawing insights and wisdom from both the elite sports performers and the business world, William took a particular interest in many of the innovative people management strategies seen across Silicon Valley in California. What he discovered about innovation and creativity in the Tech world totally altered his philosophy around corporate leadership, and this ultimately inspired him to lean more heavily into Transformational Leadership theories. A third publication, Create Your Own LIFE Story, (a self-coaching book), publishes in early 2020.
