imageI am here to awaken people on the conquest of trade relations particularly Africa. Trading can date back to millennium's ago throughout the world. Africa is a vast territory the so called second largest continent on Earth. It has gold, oil, ores, precious emeralds and un-tapped resources geologist have yet to find. The things that hamper Africa's overall development is weak governance, poor infrastructure, and a lack of institutions to manage the whole process of integrated trade system. One of the first steps that could be taking is educational know how. I get tired of people throwing the word "education" around like a cliche of some type. What I mean by education is, the actual understanding how things work in the Global Trade system, if that means sending people abroad to learn, then that is what needs to take place to set-up the proper mechanizations of a modern trade system. Infrastructure is the first things that needs to be put in place so that Africa can perform in 21st Century. The lifeblood of any modern supply chain is, modernized ports, roads, airport, and railways which Africa currently lacks. With the said natural resources above Africa could trade finished or semi-finished good first through intra-African trade, then to outside markets once it establishes itself at home first. Technological development is the second most important mechanism needed including: fiber-optics network, electricity, integrated networks which are currently being put in place to enhance a global integrated system of information.Aid is needed in some areas, I would not downplay that phenomenal, but producing to trade is a long-term policy that needs to be in place immediately by policy makers there. Trade produces win-win solutions for governments, public-private sectors in any economies. Trade policies are another area, but it could take a day to talk about reduction of tariffs and other trade barriers that affect trading across borders. I will continue to promote this dialogue that Africa needs trade not aid and this discourse should hopefully bring into discussion other ideas and theories that could help Africa break her dependency on aid.
