The true size of the African Continent

This post is dedicated to the non-beleivers about Africa and her colossal size and potential power. I have lived, visited and traveled all around this gigantic continent and let me tell you the word space is the only word to describe this complex land we call the mother continent. Let's take for example the United States, it can fit inside Africa 3 1/2 times. I lived in Angola in 2011, which I was blessed with the opportunity to play professional basketball in the capital Luanda, Angola. Prior to that I had already been to West Africa (Senegal) and visited that part which is vast also. Southern Africa which encompasses South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Angola, Botswana Namibia to name a few is very rich in natural resources plus a large area and diverse to the core. Angola is slightly twice the size of Texas and Tanzania is slightly twice the size of California. That would be 2 countries slightly twice the size of the United States biggest states. Think about it, Angola is slightly twice the size of Texas with only around 18.5 million inhabitants living there. That would means Angola is grossly under-populated, not the reverse which scholars claim Africa as a whole is over-populated. Also the African continent has 54 countries inside her territory. The average country is twice the size of the United States average state. The other variable to this equation is that natural wealth is under the ground of these territories, again to highlight Angola the natural wealth she harness are gold, diamond, ire ore, phosphates, bauxite, feldspar, copper and uranium. So how much of that land you think is covered in those natural resources. Most African countries have not tapped or did not take a thorough geological study of its territories. This leads to our final section the last Frontier of investment.

The last frontier for investment

Everybody should know there is one place that's been neglected from global capital and that is Africa, besides South Africa, Egypt, and the Northern countries of the continent Africa has been subjected to gross neglect for centuries. The reason for this phenomenon is after Colonialism and thereafter the countries where turned over to the indigenous peoples of the country and what ensued next could only be a sheer rush for power. Thereafter, Africa has been associated with names or bad names, these include: underdevelopment, corruption, war, famine, tribalism to name a few. Investors of the past only looked at commodity driven investments meaning mining operation or extraction of oil and gas resources mainly to be exported in its rawest form. Basically,Africa has been used as a place for resource extraction, but times are changing with the advent of China's slowdown and no place for global capital to turn, it looks like Africa is the final destination point. Governments now are getting things in order and changing the ways of doing business to attract potential investor. To spur confidence in investor these countries are being more transparent, open about corruption practices and setting a positive political environment. This process will not happen over night but steps are being made as we speak to address the concerned stakeholders. What makes Africa the last frontier? Well to start, by 2040 Africa will have the youngest working population in the World. 7 of the 10 fastest growing economies in the world now are from there, a low growth base, the introduction of technology and mobile phones. To highlight further the African continent has 1 billion people to serve, feed, cloth, with adequate housing. The rush is on, you yourself can research how every bloc or country has it's own plan to invest and reap huge benefits from Africa now and in the future.
