About Dr. Mikhail DeSantos

Mikhail DeSantos is a neurosurgeon whose journey is international. He is originally from a small community in the southern part of Georgetown, Guyana where his love for the outdoors, volunteering, and the close relationships formed, have shaped his personality and how he approaches his profession.

He trained in medicine at the University of Guyana, where he received the prestigious Prime Minister’s Award for the best graduating medical student. He underwent neurosurgical training in Jamaica, received distinctions in Anatomy and completed it in Bristol, UK. He is a passionate anatomy teacher and cares about passing on medical and neurosurgical knowledge to the next generation of students, surgeons and the larger community.

In his spare time, he is a keen artist, tennis, and chess player.
