Welcome to Gospel Truth with

0:03

Andrew Wamick, a teaching ministry

0:05

that focuses on God's unconditional

0:07

love and grace. Andrew,

0:09

I just want to say thank you so much.

0:11

You were such a blessing to me. He

0:13

made it simple. I think I really needed

0:16

to see that. You have

0:18

shown me and taught me His

0:20

love. And

0:23

now, here's Andrew. Welcome

0:25

to our Thursday's broadcast of the Gospel

0:27

Truth. This week I've started

0:29

a teaching that I've entitled Lessons from

0:32

Joseph. And I'm just taking the life

0:34

of Joseph and going through what God

0:36

did with him and making

0:38

applications to us. And

0:41

we've already covered some really, really

0:43

important things. I've got this little

0:46

booklet that is just a brief

0:48

summary of this larger teaching.

0:50

This is a brand new book, first time

0:52

we've released this. And it's

0:54

Lessons from Joseph. It's 200 plus pages.

0:56

We're asking for a donation of any

0:58

amount for this. There is a suggested

1:01

donation for those of you that wonder

1:03

what we would like to get for it. And

1:06

so we have a suggested donation, but then we'll give this

1:08

to you as a free gift. And then

1:10

we have CDs and DVDs that

1:12

were taken from our television program and

1:14

a USB that will have the audio

1:16

and video on it. And

1:18

we'll give out that information again at the end of

1:20

the program. So we started in

1:23

Genesis chapter 37 about how Joseph was

1:25

given these two dreams from God that

1:27

he would be exalted and people would

1:29

come and bow down to him. And

1:32

God gave these to him to protect

1:34

him and to keep him in hope,

1:37

even though there was going to be a

1:39

lot of negative things happen to him. I

1:41

do not believe God is the source of

1:44

these negative things. It does say

1:46

that God sold him into

1:48

slavery. Joseph said that himself, that

1:50

God sent me ahead to preserve

1:53

life, but it was because of

1:55

the alternatives. What was the alternatives? The brothers

1:57

were going to try and kill him. threw

2:00

him into a pit and eventually sold

2:02

him to these people and Joseph became

2:04

a slave but that wasn't because that

2:06

God wanted him to be a slave.

2:08

It was because he got him away

2:10

from his brothers. His brothers were going

2:12

to kill him and his

2:14

father, Jacob, thought he had been killed

2:16

by some animal because they took his

2:19

coat of many colors which was very

2:21

unique to Joseph, put animals blood on

2:23

it and Jacob just assumed that

2:25

he had been killed by animals and so for

2:27

22 years he

2:29

grieved over a situation that wasn't even

2:32

accurate. It wasn't even true what he

2:34

was grieving over. So

2:36

the story continues when Joseph gets

2:38

down into Egypt and in Genesis

2:40

chapter 39 verse 1 it

2:43

says, And Joseph was brought down

2:45

to Egypt and Potiphar, an officer

2:47

of Pharaoh, captain of the guard,

2:49

an Egyptian bought him at the

2:51

hands of the Ishmaelites which had

2:53

brought him down thither. And

2:55

look at this, this is one of my favorite scriptures

2:58

in Genesis chapter 39 verse 2 it

3:00

says, And the Lord was with Joseph

3:04

and he was a prosperous man and

3:06

he was in the house of his master

3:09

the Egyptian. That is

3:11

just amazing right there. Most

3:13

people would not have had this take

3:16

on the situation. Joseph

3:20

had been the favorite son of a very

3:22

wealthy man, Jacob. He

3:24

had this coat of many colors. He

3:26

lived in luxury. He was pampered by

3:28

his father but because his

3:30

brothers tried to kill him and eventually

3:33

sold him into slavery here Joseph was

3:35

standing on an auction block being sold

3:37

into slavery. And did you know that

3:40

the way they sold the slave was

3:42

they stripped you naked and he

3:45

had his clothes, his whatever clothes were

3:47

left because his coat of many colors

3:49

had been taken from him. So

3:52

whatever clothes he had they were just in

3:54

a pile beside him. So here Joseph is

3:56

standing there totally naked so that

3:58

the buyers could see what they were buying

4:02

and God says Joseph

4:04

was a prosperous man. I can

4:07

imagine Potiphar standing there in

4:09

all of his robes and he

4:11

probably had jewels and gold and

4:13

rings and all kinds of things

4:15

and he looked like a prosperous

4:18

man. Most people would think Potiphar

4:20

was prosperous. Here's Joseph being sold

4:22

stripped naked as a slave and

4:24

he wouldn't be considered a prosperous man. God

4:28

wrote about it. God says Joseph

4:30

was a prosperous man not Potiphar. Boy

4:33

this is powerful. Did you

4:36

know God sees things differently than we

4:38

see things and this is one of the big problems.

4:40

How can two walk together except they be agreed

4:42

is what the scripture says and the

4:45

fact is most of us are so carnal. We

4:47

just look at things in the natural. We

4:49

look at our situation and we

4:52

don't properly evaluate things but

4:55

I tell you you've got to get to where

4:57

you see things the way that God sees things

4:59

and that's the reason that he gave us this

5:01

word. This is the reason

5:03

he gave us stories like this about

5:05

Joseph is to show us

5:07

that it doesn't matter how people see you.

5:09

It doesn't matter what your circumstances look like.

5:12

What does God say about you? You

5:15

know I can remember back when Jamie and

5:17

I were going through our poverty days and

5:21

this was totally my fault. God's

5:24

not the one who put me in this poverty. Now

5:27

God used it and I learned a lot

5:29

of things and today I am

5:31

still thankful. You know last week I had

5:33

to go do some shopping for Jamie at

5:36

the grocery store. I don't hardly ever

5:38

do that but she wanted something and

5:40

I went to get it and as

5:43

I was buying these few

5:45

little items that I had I

5:47

remember being in grocery stores when Jamie and

5:49

I couldn't buy hardly anything. We were starving

5:51

and we would go look at all of

5:54

this food and we couldn't get any of

5:56

it and I remember just

5:58

last week I mean fifty years

6:00

later, here I am, and I'm

6:03

still thankful. And I remember

6:05

walking through that grocery store and just thanking

6:07

the Lord. Thank you, Father, that we have

6:09

the money that we can buy whatever it is that we

6:11

need. So God used it.

6:13

I'm not saying that, you

6:15

know, it wasn't something that the Lord

6:17

used in my life, but it wasn't

6:19

God's will that I went through that

6:21

poverty. That was my own stupidity. I

6:23

was told by someone that if you

6:25

were called to minister, that you would

6:28

be sinning against God to go get

6:30

a job because you were

6:32

called to the ministry and you should

6:34

get your money from the ministry. And

6:36

so because of that wrong thinking, I

6:38

refused to work for about the first

6:40

five years of our marriage. And

6:43

boy, Jamie and I went through poverty and through a lot of

6:45

things and it was my own fault. Now God used it and

6:48

I'm thankful that I learned some lessons through

6:50

it, but that wasn't God's will. And

6:52

did you know it wasn't God? This

6:54

wasn't God's original plan, I believe, for

6:57

Joseph. Nevertheless, it was better

6:59

than what the brothers were wanting to do

7:02

to him, killing him. And so God sold

7:04

him into slavery, but the anointing of God

7:06

was on Joseph. Joseph had already been shown

7:08

through those two dreams that

7:10

he was gonna be exalted and

7:12

that people would come bow down

7:15

to him. And because of that,

7:17

Joseph was still standing in faith,

7:19

even though he was standing there

7:21

stripped naked, being sold into slavery.

7:24

Joseph was a prosperous man. You

7:27

have to be able to see yourself the way

7:30

that God sees you and you have to see

7:32

it on the inside before you see it on

7:34

the outside. You know, back during those

7:36

poverty days that I was describing just a

7:38

few minutes ago, Jamie and I

7:40

could have gone on welfare. We

7:42

could have gotten food stamps

7:45

for probably the first 10 years of our

7:48

marriage. We were that poor. And

7:50

yet I never saw myself poor. I

7:53

was preaching prosperity. I was preaching that God

7:55

would supply my needs, even though I couldn't

7:57

see it in my life. I could see

7:59

it. To a degree like we would have.

8:01

The doorbell rang and we'd go and nobody

8:03

would be there. Need be a sack of

8:06

groceries and I'd look both ways down the

8:08

street not couldn't see any body. And.

8:10

God for of added miracles. I mean

8:13

at the last moment our finances it

8:15

come through but it was a struggle.

8:19

And so I could see some. Victory

8:21

in this area but certainly I you

8:23

know body would call me prosperous. We

8:26

were actually evicted from places it we

8:28

live because we couldn't pay the rent.

8:30

We were threatened the come in and

8:33

sees all of our stuff. We were

8:35

struggling. I saw a nerve.

8:38

Supply. That I knew that God was

8:40

for me and anyway even know we were

8:42

struggling in the natural I never saw myself

8:44

for I never applied for food stamps and

8:46

ever did those things even though I could

8:48

have. And it

8:50

wasn't that I was afraid to do

8:52

it or I was embarrassed to honestly

8:54

did not see myself for. I.

8:56

Saw myself blessed, I knew the gods and

8:59

morning was all me. I knew I had

9:01

a vision from God that some day I

9:03

would be prosperous and I would be doing

9:06

things. And. I never saw myself

9:08

poor, even though we were definitely poor.

9:11

I. Didn't see myself that way. They're.

9:14

People watching this problem right now. That.

9:16

You may be in a situation where in an ad

9:18

for you are poor. But. You don't

9:20

have to see yourself for you

9:22

could be like Joseph and be

9:24

a prosperous man, even when you're

9:26

standing there strip naked, been sold

9:28

into slavery. There. May be so maybe

9:30

that in the natural it looks like you're die

9:33

and but you don't have to see yourself, dine

9:35

using. See yourself the healed. You can take the

9:37

word of God and see yourself the way the

9:39

God tells you to your you're supposed to be.

9:42

Use. It be in situations where in the naturally

9:45

looks like that, there's no promotion that there's

9:47

no way things are going to work out

9:49

and yet you can see yourself a prosperous

9:51

person on the inside. There's.

9:53

Some people watching this program right now that

9:56

this is just crazy to you. How can

9:58

you see something when your second. Scientists

10:00

are saying that. I'm.

10:02

Saying this in law but your what the

10:04

Bible calls carnal. Most. People

10:06

think carnal is something evil. It's

10:08

terrible. Well it is bad. But

10:10

and not only you know murder

10:12

and things like that are carnal.

10:14

but when you are just control

10:16

by what you see tastier smell

10:18

in feel your five senses as

10:21

what the Bible's calling carnal. A

10:23

person who is limited to only

10:25

thinking the what reality is is

10:27

what you see tastier smelling failed

10:29

this natural round. If.

10:31

Your Spiritual. You can go beyond the

10:33

physical things that may look contrary and

10:35

you can take the word of God

10:37

and you can have a picture painted

10:39

on the inside of you of what

10:41

God wants to do in your life

10:43

and you can grab hold of that

10:45

and you can see yourself prosperous. When.

10:47

The world sees you a slave.

10:50

He. Didn't see yourself healed when the world

10:52

sees you sick. For.

10:55

This is gray eyes again. I could

10:57

talk about this for a long time,

10:59

but this is one of my favorite

11:01

scriptures Were here's Joe's have been sold

11:03

into slavery and the Lord says Joseph

11:05

was a very prosperous man. Didn't say

11:07

that about Potter for. If.

11:09

You're just looking in. The natural

11:12

part of her was a thousand

11:14

times a million times more prosperous

11:16

than Joseph. But in God's eyes,

11:18

Joseph. Was. A prosperous person.

11:21

Not. Part of her. You. Know

11:23

it really didn't matter what anybody else thinks

11:25

about you. What? God thinks

11:27

about she's what's important. You.

11:30

Gotta get to a place to are you

11:32

have a relationship with ya? Just take the

11:35

word of God in one. God says about

11:37

you that you are the righteousness of God.

11:39

He that a see yourself that way regardless

11:42

of what's happened in the past. There's.

11:44

Some people that let their past

11:46

just dominate their present. but when

11:48

you come to the Lord, you

11:50

become a new creature in Christ

11:52

Jesus Second printing, Five Seventeen All

11:54

things have passed away, All things

11:56

have become know and you are

11:58

now created and right. The news

12:00

and true Holiness of Asians board

12:02

Twenty Four Jesus as become your

12:04

righteousness and you need to see

12:06

yourself the way that God sees

12:08

you. You. Don't need the lamp

12:11

through last. Always burden down and

12:13

bearing Shane by what you've done

12:15

before you came. the the larger,

12:17

a brand new purse and a

12:19

new need to see yourself that

12:21

way. And. This is what

12:23

happened a Joseph. You know again this story.

12:25

I'm reading between the lines, but I believe

12:28

that these things are absolutely true. If you

12:30

would meditate on it, you can see it.

12:32

Because. He goes on to say in the next

12:35

verse and verse three it says in his master. Saw.

12:37

That the Lord was with him. And

12:40

that the Lord made all that he did

12:42

the prosper in his hands. This. Wasn't

12:44

something that had no bearing on

12:46

reality. It it was told it

12:49

was wasn't disconnected from reality because

12:51

Joseph saw himself prosperous because he

12:53

knew that God was with him

12:55

because he had this vision that

12:57

some day he was gonna be

12:59

exalted in people would come and

13:01

bowed down the him because of

13:04

that. Joseph was still trust in

13:06

God and believe in god and

13:08

submitted to god and it was

13:10

so obvious that his master Potter

13:12

for who bought him saw. That

13:14

God was with him. I.

13:17

Tell you if you can see it

13:19

on the inside, it will eventually begin

13:21

to manifest itself on the outside and

13:23

other people will see. There's.

13:25

Some people that are probably skeptics that are

13:28

watching this problem and thinking you're just in

13:30

law and you're thinking that if you do

13:32

see yourself this way and endured, you're going

13:34

to live the rest of your life and

13:36

live a total defeated life and yet you

13:38

do see yourself differently on the inside. As.

13:41

Away a skeptic would look at it, but

13:43

I'm telling you that if you truly. Embrace.

13:47

God's. Plan for your life and

13:49

if you truly see it on the

13:51

inside, it will manifest itself on the

13:53

outside. Just like part of her. he

13:55

saw that Joseph was blessed and what

13:58

ever he set his hand. Then. To.

14:01

Add. God would make it to prosper

14:03

in his hand. And so because of

14:05

that inverse board says and Joseph found

14:07

Grace in his side talking about part

14:09

of her side His master. And.

14:11

He served him and he made

14:14

him overseer over his house and

14:16

all that he had he put

14:18

into his hands. Again,

14:20

You don't do this to a person

14:22

who's going around griping, complain in in

14:24

murmuring and just bitter and depressed and

14:26

discouraged because of the bad things that

14:29

have happened to him. You know, put

14:31

a person like that in charge of

14:33

your whole household and it goes on

14:35

to say so that he didn't even

14:37

know anything that was going on. He

14:39

trusted Joseph so much said he didn't

14:41

even know what was going on. Just

14:44

the food that he ate is about

14:46

all that he had to do. Inverse

14:48

five it says it came to pass.

14:50

From that time that he had made

14:52

him overseer over his house. And.

14:54

Over all that he had that

14:56

the Lord blessed the Egyptians house

14:58

for Joseph sake. And. The blessing

15:00

of the Lord was upon all that he

15:03

had in the house and in the field.

15:05

And he left all that he had in

15:08

Joseph's hand and he knew not all he

15:10

had. Save. The bread which he

15:12

did eat and Joseph was a goodly

15:14

person and well favored. You don't

15:16

put a person in charge like that in

15:19

a This says that he didn't know anything

15:21

about his business, about his finances. The only

15:23

thing that Potter for know was the bread

15:25

that he ate. He. Trusted

15:27

Joseph that much. You.

15:30

Don't do that to a person who's

15:33

grab and and complaining in depressed and

15:35

sitting there soak in his thumb and

15:37

talk about how everything's against him. And

15:40

I'm saying this in love again. But there are some

15:42

people that you've had some bad things happen to you.

15:44

You. Might have caused them. You might

15:47

not have caused them. Maybe they were

15:49

things that were done to you know

15:51

where that your cooperation? I don't know.

15:53

but if you are responding negatively to

15:56

it and if you've left these negative

15:58

circumstances depress you and make. You

16:00

to where you have no hope

16:02

for the future and you're just

16:04

sitting there murmuring, complaining, You.

16:07

Have become a victim. Not. A

16:09

victor. But. It doesn't matter what

16:11

anybody else has done to you, you

16:13

always have a choice of whether you

16:15

become better, are better, And

16:18

I know that I'm. Some. People are

16:20

really being offended by what I'm

16:22

saying because it's like I'm not

16:25

embracing your situation, I'm coming against

16:27

your feelings of failure in depression

16:29

and you feel justified in doing

16:32

all that. But. I pay a

16:34

few. do that you'll never. Get.

16:36

Promoted. You'll never get out of that

16:38

situation. You are letting your circumstances dominate

16:41

you using go to the word about

16:43

especially those are the had my Jesus

16:45

Your Lord I guarantee you Jesus has

16:48

a pay as plotted out of the

16:50

situation you are in two. Total

16:52

victory. And. Into matter, what's happened

16:54

in that matter. How. Bad it

16:57

is. You. May think your situation

16:59

is worse than everybody else, but see that's

17:01

one of the problems because it says in

17:03

first grade the and Ten Thirteen there is

17:05

no temptation. Take a new but such as

17:07

is common to man, but God is faithful

17:09

who will not suffer you to be tempted

17:12

above that you are able, but will with

17:14

the temptation make a way to escape that

17:16

you may be able to bear it. So.

17:18

If you're sitting there feeling totally hopeless

17:20

and helpless and you're feeling justified in

17:23

being depressed, then you have violated that

17:25

scripture. You've given away your hope. You

17:27

need to come back to a place

17:29

to where you say God, I don't

17:31

care what happens The Bible says and

17:33

Isaiah fifty four seventy No weapon that

17:35

is formed against me shall prosper in

17:37

every tongue that shall rise against me

17:39

and judgment, ice shelf and them. This

17:42

is the heritage of the service of

17:44

the Lord and my righteousness is of

17:46

you. Thus saith the Lord. And so

17:48

you. Need to get that attitude and

17:50

you need to recognize a dead matter

17:52

what has happened to you. God has

17:54

a pay as planned out of that

17:56

situation in the Total Victory. Party.

18:00

God. Man. Ideas know

18:02

in my heart that God speaking. Many

18:04

people. This is bringing you

18:06

out of it font the jury and you

18:08

need to get over it. And you need

18:11

to be like Joseph. He had been the

18:13

favorite son, He was raised in wealth. now

18:15

he is a slave. It most people would

18:17

a justified him sitting down and just giving

18:19

up. What's the use? What's the purpose and

18:22

dreams? Look, words got me. But.

18:24

No, he held onto that vision and

18:26

it says that he served. Part.

18:28

Of her. Most.

18:30

People that are really depressed, they

18:33

don't serve anybody else, they just

18:35

and they just unplug they. Check

18:37

out of society and they're just sitting

18:40

there in the dark nursing all their

18:42

hurts and pains. I'm telling you

18:44

the way out is for you to serve

18:46

somebody else for you to take out care

18:49

what com against you you. there's still something

18:51

you can do, you could still be a

18:53

blessing to somebody and you just start serving

18:55

people in you say? I'm not going to

18:58

be in this situation for ever. And

19:01

you may not be able to do the great

19:03

things, but you can do something. And

19:05

you start serving, you start blessing other

19:07

people. Get. Out of just

19:09

focusing on yourself and thinking about your

19:11

problem and go to thinking about somebody

19:14

else. This is what Joseph did. In.

19:16

A situation that most people would have

19:18

given up. He was serving Paderborn because

19:20

of it's part of her promoted him.

19:23

And so he was beginning to see

19:25

success. He was beginning to see some

19:27

good things. but. The. Devil didn't just

19:29

roll over and play dead because he's

19:31

endured the very first thing they was

19:34

thrown etti now the Masters last game

19:36

against him in a we just read

19:38

it right here it says. That.

19:40

He was a goodly person. And

19:43

well favored. As. King James and

19:45

English were saying he was a very

19:47

handsome man. He was. He was a.

19:50

you know a good looking guy and

19:52

because of that the next burrow says

19:54

it came to pass after these things

19:57

his masters wife cast her eyes upon

19:59

joseph And she said, lie

20:01

with me, talking about having sexual relationship.

20:03

But he refused and said unto his

20:05

master's wife, Behold, my master wanteth not

20:08

what is with me in the house,

20:10

and he hath committed all that he

20:12

hath to my hand. There is none

20:14

greater in his house than I, neither

20:18

hath he kept back from me anything,

20:20

but thee, because thou art his wife.

20:23

How then can I do this great

20:25

wickedness and sin against

20:28

God? Boy, this is

20:30

one of the passages of scripture that the

20:32

Lord has used in my life big time.

20:34

I'm not gonna be able to say everything

20:36

I wanna say about this on today's program.

20:38

I'm gonna continue this into tomorrow's

20:40

program. But let me just say that

20:43

just because Joseph was

20:45

able to endure the

20:47

mistreatment from his brothers, being sold into

20:50

slavery, and now here he's a slave,

20:53

and he had fallen from being

20:56

the favorite son of a wealthy

20:58

person to now being a slave.

21:02

Even though he had endured that, that

21:05

didn't mean that the test was over.

21:07

Satan will throw wave after wave after

21:09

wave of things at you. Some

21:12

people might stand one time

21:14

because they've got a vision that they think

21:16

that they can go through this and that

21:18

they're gonna come out better on the other

21:20

side. But there's very few people that will

21:23

stand wave after wave after

21:25

wave, assault after assault after assault.

21:29

And that's the reason why I'm saying that. I'm gonna stand

21:31

for the rest of the devil. The

21:34

scripture talks about you've gotta have patience and

21:38

let patience have a perfect work that you may be

21:40

perfect in the entire wanting nothing. You

21:42

can't put limits on things. I've known people

21:44

that says, all right, I'm gonna stand. And

21:47

as long as it's minor things that come against

21:49

me, as long as it's temporary things, as long

21:51

as it's a short duration of struggle that

21:55

I have to go through, then they will stand

21:57

through that. And that's the limit on how much. uh...

22:00

opposition you're going to endure satan

22:03

will push you to that limit every time

22:05

he knows where your limits are he knows

22:08

where you're ready to just quit throw in

22:10

the talent given and

22:12

he will push you until the very brink

22:14

of that it's actually to your advantage just

22:16

to make a decision that you know i

22:19

there are no limits i

22:21

am not going to quit i don't care what

22:23

happens when you do that you

22:25

actually will see a breakthrough quicker

22:27

because satan will know that he hadn't got

22:29

a chance and satan at heart is coward the

22:32

only reason he'll fight you is if he thinks

22:34

he's got a chance of you giving in and

22:37

so joseph didn't just stand through

22:39

you know the brothers rejection and

22:42

then being sold into slavery but

22:44

boy he stood even when he

22:46

was again promoted to another position

22:48

here comes the master's wife trying

22:50

to seduce him and he refused

22:52

to give in on that and

22:54

then i've got some great things to say about this

22:56

and things that the lord spoke to me that

22:59

has protected me and made

23:01

a huge difference in my life in the

23:03

same thing will work for you but i'm

23:05

25:40

growing up, I've been around believers and

25:42

one thing that I saw

25:44

that lacked is being able to operate in

25:46

the works of the spirit, being able to

25:48

see signs and wonders and things that are

25:50

found in the book of Acts. But coming

25:53

to Charis, man, to see people who are

25:55

not only in Love with

25:57

Jesus, but in love with his word and are

25:59

able to operate. Great node areas in in

26:01

both the truth or grace and power

26:03

I think was ah something that definitely

26:06

changed my life. Ah I. I don't

26:08

think I'm any ways ah, perfect and

26:10

in maturity or anything like that, but

26:12

I'm definitely a Cliff, the tape and

26:14

next that I went on a Mrs

26:16

your about the Oklahoma and man it

26:19

was actually because of that And I'm

26:21

doing what I'm doing right now. Have

26:23

an hour at my church none in

26:25

the springs and ah yeah seeing the

26:27

fruit that I see in my life.

26:30

Both. I'm thankful for that.

26:32

Experienced and excited to go

26:34

on the next steps with

26:36
