Welcome to Gospel Truth with

0:03

Andrew Womack, a teaching ministry

0:05

that focuses on God's unconditional

0:07

love and grace. I'd

0:09

like to thank you, Andrew Womack, for what you've

0:11

done to me, what you've spoken in my life,

0:14

for the grace

0:16

teaching that you've brought. As

0:18

I thanked you a couple years back, I still am growing

0:21

from it and I look forward to many, many

0:23

more years of you teaching and I thank

0:25

you for that. And

0:28

now, here's Andrew. Welcome

0:30

to our Monday's broadcast of the Gospel

0:32

Truth. Today I'm

0:34

going to spend an entire

0:37

week teaching on what true

0:39

Christianity is, what distinguishes Christianity

0:42

from every other religion. And

0:45

some of you may think, oh I know that

0:47

already, but you know there's a lot of people

0:49

who think that just believing that

0:51

Jesus is the Son of God is sufficient.

0:53

I'm going to share some scriptures with you

0:56

that may just shock you,

0:58

but Jesus called people who believed on

1:01

Him, you are of your Father the

1:03

Devil. You got to do

1:05

more than that. It says in James chapter

1:07

2 verse 19, you believe that there's one

1:09

God, you do well. The

1:11

devils also believe in trouble, but won't

1:13

you know, O vain man, that faith

1:15

without works is dead. It

1:18

takes more than just believing that

1:20

God exists. The devils do that and

1:22

yet they aren't saved. You got to

1:24

have some action. I've got

1:26

this book that is entitled The New

1:29

You and the Holy Spirit. I have

1:31

given away hundreds of thousands of these

1:33

at our meetings to people

1:35

who come forward for salvation or the

1:37

baptism of the Holy Spirit. So it's

1:40

about what is the new you and

1:42

that's the first half of this book, what

1:45

is true salvation and the second half is

1:47

about the baptism of the Holy Spirit and

1:49

speaking in tongues. We have

1:51

this in English, but we also have this same

1:53

book in Spanish and we're

1:56

making this a free offer to

1:58

you this week. But

2:00

let me just say again that

2:02

just believing that God exists, even

2:04

believing that Jesus is the Son

2:06

of God and that He

2:08

is the Savior. And you can

2:10

believe that He died on a cross, but

2:13

it takes more than just an acknowledgement

2:15

that these things are true. There

2:17

has to be a commitment on your

2:19

part. Over in Romans chapter

2:21

10, it says in verse 9, if

2:24

you shall confess with your mouth the

2:26

Lord Jesus and believe in your

2:28

heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall

2:30

be saved. That's more than just

2:33

using the Lord as a title. It's

2:35

talking about that you are committing your

2:37

life, that there is

2:39

a commitment on your part. And

2:43

there's a lot of people today that

2:45

claim to be Christian that

2:47

I don't believe that they possess true

2:50

salvation. And I'm going to be sharing

2:52

a lot of scripture with you on

2:54

this very thing. But

2:57

this program can be seen around the world.

2:59

Over 5.2 billion people could watch

3:02

this program on a daily basis.

3:04

And I can guarantee you out of that number

3:07

of people that there's a lot

3:09

of people who assume that they're

3:11

a Christian just because we

3:13

were born in a Christian nation because you may

3:15

go to a church or something like that. I

3:18

actually was witnessing to a person one time and asked

3:20

him if he was a Christian and he pulled a

3:22

coin out of his pocket. And

3:25

he says, of course I'm a Christian. Right here it

3:27

says in God we trust. And

3:29

he thought because his money had in

3:31

God we trust printed on it that

3:33

that made him a Christian. That

3:36

is not what true Christianity is. You

3:39

know, there's many things and I'm going to be covering

3:41

a number of things this week. But

3:45

let me say this. One of the

3:47

distinguishing characteristics between true

3:49

Christianity and every other

3:51

religion of the world

3:54

is the fact that we are the

3:56

only religion, if you want to call

3:58

Christianity a religion, I

4:01

hesitate to use the word

4:03

religion because to me religion

4:05

is men's ideas about

4:07

God. True Christianity is God revealing

4:09

himself to us and it's not

4:11

a religion, it's not man-made, but

4:15

you know Buddhism and Islam

4:17

and all of these things, those

4:19

are religion, those are men's attempts

4:22

to understand God. But Christianity is

4:24

God revealing himself to us through

4:26

his son. But one of

4:28

the things that really sets true Christianity

4:30

apart from every religion in the

4:32

world is that we

4:35

are the only religion that has

4:37

a savior. Now stop

4:39

and think about that. You can go into

4:42

Confucianism, you can go into Buddhism,

4:44

Islam, you can go into any

4:46

religion of the world. They believe

4:48

that there's a God, but

4:51

they believe that you have to earn

4:53

your way to God. Somehow

4:56

or another, practice jihad, you've got

4:58

to practice self-denial, you've got to

5:00

do something to make yourself worthy

5:03

and earn all of these things.

5:05

And so you'll have people that'll

5:07

become monks, they'll wear saffron robes,

5:10

they'll shave their head, they'll beg,

5:12

they have to do all of these things

5:14

to be worthy and to earn

5:17

relationship with God. But true

5:19

Christianity, now there is a

5:21

false Christianity that basically

5:23

teaches the same thing, that you've got to

5:25

be holy, you've got to go to church,

5:27

you've got to pay your tithes and there

5:29

are multitudes of people that call themselves Christian.

5:31

But if they were to stand before God

5:33

and if God was to say what makes

5:36

you worthy, they would point

5:38

to, well I went to church and

5:40

I was baptized when I was an

5:42

infant and I did these sacraments and

5:44

I did these things and they would

5:46

point to themselves. Did you

5:48

know that that's no different than

5:51

the Muslims, than the Buddhists, than

5:53

anybody else. There

5:55

are religious Christians who are

5:57

trusting in their own goodness.

6:00

as the means of salvation,

6:03

and that is not accurate. But

6:05

a true Christian, if he was

6:07

asked what makes you worthy to

6:10

enter into heaven, they

6:12

would say, I'm not worthy based

6:14

on anything I've done. My total faith

6:17

is in Jesus. He is a Savior.

6:20

Jesus bore my sin. He

6:22

became sin for me. 2 Corinthians 5, 21

6:24

says, For he, God

6:26

the Father, made him, Jesus, who knew

6:29

no sin, to be made sin for

6:31

us, that we might be made the

6:33

righteousness of God in him. Jesus

6:36

became sin for us. See,

6:39

he is a Savior, and all of

6:41

God's punishment and wrath against sin came

6:44

upon Jesus. And

6:47

a true Christian is a person who

6:49

has put faith in what Jesus did

6:51

for them, not what they do for

6:54

Jesus. And it's sad to

6:56

say we've got multitudes of religious people

6:58

today who are actually trusting

7:00

in themselves. It's subtle. They may

7:03

not even recognize

7:05

it themselves. But I've had

7:07

people come up in prayer lines. I pray

7:09

for a lot of people, and I pray

7:11

for people to be healed. And I've heard

7:13

this hundreds, maybe thousands of times, people saying,

7:15

I go to church, I pay my tithes,

7:17

I fast, I pray, I do

7:20

all of these things. How come God

7:22

hasn't healed me? How come God hasn't

7:24

prospered me or whatever? You

7:26

know what they're doing? They're relating God

7:28

moving in their life to their holiness.

7:31

They basically are saying, I deserve this. I'm

7:34

living holy. How come God hasn't moved?

7:38

If that's your attitude, you

7:40

aren't going through Jesus. You

7:42

may say, oh, well, yeah, I need Jesus, but I've

7:44

also got to do this. You know, the Scripture says

7:47

in Romans 11, verse 6 says, If

7:52

it is not of grace, then it is no more of works. Otherwise,

7:55

grace is no more grace. But if it be of

7:57

works, then it is no more grace. Otherwise, work is

7:59

no more work. Now that's kind

8:01

of wordy in the King James, but

8:03

it's just saying it's either grace or

8:05

it's work, your effort, but it's not

8:07

a combination of the two. It's not

8:09

that Jesus paid like the base price

8:12

and then you have to add to

8:14

it your own goodness. No, you are

8:16

either totally trusting in what Jesus did

8:18

for you or you are totally trusting

8:20

in yourself, but it can't be you

8:22

providing 50% and

8:25

Jesus providing 50%. And

8:27

yet that's what a lot of people think. You

8:30

have to believe on Jesus and you

8:32

have to accept salvation, but then you've

8:34

got to earn everything that

8:36

you get from God. That

8:38

is no different than a pagan religion. That's

8:40

no different than all of these other religions

8:42

that believe that there's a God, but they

8:45

put the burden of salvation upon your back.

8:47

True salvation is

8:50

humbling yourself and admitting that

8:52

I've sinned, that I can't

8:54

save myself. And Jesus is

8:56

my savior and he's extended salvation

8:58

to me based on his grace,

9:01

not based on my works and

9:03

performance. And all I have

9:05

to do, Ephesians chapter two, verse eight, it

9:07

says, you're saved by grace through

9:09

faith. Grace is what God did for

9:11

you through Jesus. You didn't deserve

9:14

it, you didn't earn it. It was

9:16

done 2000 years before you and I

9:18

even were alive and existed.

9:21

It has nothing to do with you.

9:23

That's grace, that's what God has done,

9:25

but you access grace by

9:27

faith is what it says in

9:30

Romans chapter five, verse two, that

9:32

we have access by faith into

9:34

this grace wherein we stand. So

9:37

God's grace is what provides salvation. And the

9:39

only thing you have to contribute is just

9:41

faith. You have to believe and

9:43

receive as a gift, or

9:46

if you doubt, you do without it. Romans

9:48

3.23 says, all have sinned

9:51

and come short of the glory of

9:53

God. Romans 6.23 says,

9:55

for the wages of sin is death, but

9:58

the gift of God. is eternal

10:00

life through Jesus Christ, our

10:03

Lord. It's a gift. It's a

10:05

gift to be received, not a wage to

10:07

be earned. Let me use

10:09

some scriptures here in John chapter 8.

10:13

And this is where a woman was

10:15

brought to Jesus. She had been taken

10:17

in the very act of adultery, and

10:20

the scribes and Pharisees, they didn't care

10:22

about justice. If they had cared about

10:24

justice, if she was taken in the

10:26

very act of adultery, that meant that

10:28

there was also a man involved. But

10:30

they didn't bring the man. They only

10:32

brought the woman because people tend to

10:34

have more sympathy and pity towards a

10:36

woman than they have a man. And

10:38

they thought that this would be something,

10:41

you know, it's very possible

10:43

that some of these scribes and Pharisees

10:45

were the guy that was having sex

10:47

with this prostitute. That's how they caught

10:49

her in the very act. But they

10:51

weren't interested in judgment or they would

10:53

have brought the man. They brought the

10:55

woman only and they said, what do

10:57

you say? The law says that

11:00

she should be stoned to death. And they thought

11:02

they had Jesus in a situation where there was

11:04

no way to win. Because if

11:06

he allowed her to go free, he'd

11:08

been preaching grace and forgiveness and mercy

11:10

towards people, contrary to the legalism that

11:13

the Pharisees were doing. They thought that

11:15

if he let her go, that

11:18

they would be able to stone him to death because

11:20

Leviticus 18 says if a person

11:22

commits adultery like that, it's punishable by death.

11:24

And if you don't punish him, you could

11:26

be put to death. So they thought that

11:28

they could, you know, get rid of him

11:30

if he let her go. But if he

11:32

wound up condemning her and

11:35

stoning her the way that it

11:37

was prescribed in the law of Moses, well,

11:39

then all the people that had been drawn to

11:41

him because of his teaching on grace would desert

11:43

him and think he preaches it, but he

11:45

doesn't live it. So they thought they had him

11:47

in a catch-22 where

11:50

any decision he made would

11:52

be wrong. But of course, the foolishness

11:54

of God is wiser than the wisdom

11:56

of man. So what Jesus did, he

11:58

just wrote something on... in

12:01

the sand and act like he hadn't

12:03

even heard him. And so then they started praising him,

12:05

you've got to make a decision, what are you going

12:07

to do with this woman? And finally he stood up

12:09

and he says, he that's without sin among you, let

12:12

him cast the first stone. We

12:16

don't know what he wrote. And so

12:18

I'm really not even going to say, I've got

12:20

opinions on what I think he was doing, but

12:22

whatever it was, it says that

12:24

when he says he that's without sin, among

12:28

you let him cast the first stone. It

12:31

says that they all begin to be convicted by

12:33

their own conscience and went out from the oldest

12:35

to the youngest. And

12:38

finally, there was nobody left except

12:41

Jesus and this woman. And he told her

12:43

go and sin no more. And

12:45

so he told her that what she did was sin.

12:48

He didn't say that it's not

12:50

sin, he didn't change the rules,

12:52

but he was going to bear

12:54

that sin of prostitution. And

12:57

he was going to bear that punishment for sin

12:59

in his own body. And therefore he was able

13:01

to forgive this woman and he told her go

13:03

and sin no more. He said it was sin,

13:05

told her not to do it anymore, but he

13:08

extended grace towards her. And because of

13:10

this, the people began to provoke him and ask all

13:12

of these questions. I'm not going to take time to

13:14

read all of this, but let

13:16

me just go down to John chapter

13:18

eight and in verse 30, it says,

13:21

as he spake these words, many

13:24

believed on him. Now

13:26

this is significant. That 30th

13:28

verse, remember this, because

13:31

this really becomes important as you continue

13:33

to read what happened between Jesus and

13:35

all of these people that believed on

13:37

him. So these are people that believed

13:39

on him. And he said to those

13:42

Jews which believed on him, if

13:45

you continue in my word, then

13:47

shall you be my disciples indeed, and

13:49

you shall know the truth and

13:52

the truth shall make you free. Boy,

13:54

there's a number of things to get out of those verses.

13:57

But one of the things is that just

13:59

believing on Jesus. does not make you

14:01

a disciple. And believing

14:03

on Jesus does not automatically

14:05

make you free. It

14:07

says you have to continue in the

14:09

word and then

14:11

you become a disciple and then you

14:13

shall know the truth. Jesus said in

14:16

John chapter 17 verse 17, he

14:19

was praying to his father and

14:21

he said, sanctify them through thy

14:24

truth, thy word is truth. This

14:26

Bible, God's word is truth. And

14:29

I tell you, we're living in a day and

14:31

age where people don't know what truth is. They

14:33

think that they can change their sex just because

14:36

they choose to feel that way. That's

14:38

not true, it's a lie. They think

14:40

that they can have a relationship be

14:42

married to two men, two women can

14:45

be married, that's a lie. We

14:47

have people that are just believing

14:49

lies, they are pushing transgenderism, they're

14:52

putting men into women's sports. Those

14:54

are some of the big items,

14:56

but there are also people that believe

14:59

that they can commit adultery, that they

15:01

can lie, that they can steal, that

15:03

they can live for themselves and do

15:05

all of these things. All of these

15:07

things are lies. This is truth. God's

15:10

word is truth. His standards are

15:12

truth. And he said, you shall

15:14

know the truth and the truth

15:17

shall make you free. There are

15:19

many people that think, oh, I've never been

15:21

bondage to all of the standards that are

15:23

in the Bible. I'm a free spirit and

15:25

I do whatever I want. The

15:28

truth is you're the one that's in bondage. Man,

15:32

it is not bondage to live

15:34

according to what God says. God

15:36

is our creator. There's only

15:39

one God and you are not him. And

15:41

for you to reject his standards and to

15:43

do your own thing, you in a sense

15:45

are saying, I'm God. I don't care

15:47

what God says. I'm gonna live by

15:50

the way I want to. I'm the one that decides

15:52

what's right and wrong. That's

15:54

not true and you will never be made free.

15:57

It Says here, you will know the truth. And

16:00

the truth shall make you free. Ye shall

16:02

know the things that the revelation that in

16:04

the word of God that's what causes you

16:06

to be three. Hundred people

16:08

criticize me and say, man, you don't commit

16:10

adultery, You don't lie, you don't steal, you

16:12

don't get drunk. I'm never taken a drink

16:15

of liquor, I've never smoked a cigarette, I've

16:17

never done dope. I've never done these things

16:19

and people say, boy, you've missed out on

16:21

so much. He I miss

16:23

out on depression discouragement. I've never

16:25

been suicidal. it's been fifty some

16:28

years as have been depressed I

16:30

walk and supernatural health God supplies

16:32

my needs. I see people's

16:34

lives changed. Tell me who's in

16:36

bondage? The. Person who's drunk,

16:39

hung over, does stupid things, embarrass

16:41

himself, puts his life at risk.

16:43

The life of other people at

16:45

risk. Or. The person who stay

16:47

sober. At. A It's a

16:50

deception and his allies. The.

16:52

Only way you'll ever be

16:54

truly free. Is to know

16:56

the truth of God's word and began

16:58

to start can form in your life

17:00

to watch gods said. Jesus.

17:03

Said it this way says it's in losing

17:05

your life. The. You find what life

17:07

is all about. Those who seek

17:09

to save their life. Those who are putting

17:11

them self and just thinking about them self

17:14

that is not true life. True.

17:16

Life is in. Submitting yourself to

17:18

the word of God, you shall know the

17:21

truth. And. The truth shall make you

17:23

for any. It's only the truth you know.

17:25

That makes you free. Thera.

17:27

People watching this program who I don't doubt

17:29

that you're born again the to add some

17:32

time came to a place where you committed

17:34

your life to the Lord and you receive

17:36

salvation. If you were to die right now

17:38

you go to be with the Lord. Bitchy

17:40

aren't free. Because. You don't

17:42

know the truth. Salvation.

17:45

Is more than just getting a ticket

17:47

to heaven. If.

17:50

you if you receive salvation

17:53

then you need to continue

17:55

in god's word until you

17:58

become a disciple indeed And

18:01

then you will know the truth. See,

18:04

if you continue in God's Word, which is the

18:06

truth, John 17, 17, then

18:09

that truth that you know will

18:11

set you free. And it's

18:13

not only free from going to hell,

18:15

but it's free from sickness, free

18:18

from poverty, free from

18:20

depression, free from bitterness,

18:23

unforgiveness. It'll

18:25

set you free in every area of your life.

18:28

And there are people watching this program right now that if

18:30

you would be honest, you aren't free.

18:33

You are bound. People have done things to

18:35

you and you just cannot get over it.

18:38

You can't forgive them. Man,

18:40

you are just, you

18:42

know, if you were to look at

18:44

it objectively, there's very little difference between

18:46

you and your neighbor that doesn't

18:49

even claim to know the Lord. You get

18:51

as sick as they are. You're as poor

18:53

as they are. You are

18:55

as susceptible to depression and discouragement. Every

18:57

time something terrible happens in the news,

19:00

you fall apart like a $2 suitcase,

19:03

just like the people that didn't even know the Lord.

19:06

You know, I remember during COVID-19

19:09

that, man, the world just began to

19:11

panic. And I meant that,

19:13

you know, we didn't know where this was going. We

19:15

didn't know how severe it was. They

19:18

were sounding the alarm. And so when

19:20

President Trump asked for us to have

19:22

two weeks to flatten the curve, I

19:24

canceled some meetings and stuff. I thought,

19:26

well, for two weeks, I'll abide

19:28

by this. But, man, I never

19:30

was petrified. I never was fearful.

19:32

I never did take a

19:35

vaccine. I never felt like, matter

19:37

of fact, I actually had people around me that, you

19:39

know, said things like, oh, I've had COVID. Don't touch

19:41

me. Don't get near me. And I

19:43

told them, I said, come here and hug

19:46

me because no germ can touch my body

19:48

and live, amen. And

19:50

stuff. I Wasn't afraid. There ought to be

19:52

a difference between people who have promises that

19:54

no plague will come nigh our dwelling. Only

19:56

with our eyes will we see the reward

19:59

of the wicked. And other things,

20:01

There ought be a difference between a person

20:03

who has all of these promises and a

20:05

person who doesn't have promises and didn't have

20:07

a savior. I'm

20:09

telling you, there's a lot of people that

20:11

are Christians in name only. But.

20:13

They are not truly born again. And

20:16

I'm I'm not going to have time

20:18

to finish this on the days program,

20:20

but I'll continue to Mar and Jesus

20:22

went on and talk to these people

20:24

who believe. Don't him remember that he

20:27

says adverse Thirty They believed on him.

20:29

And yet he went on and talk to

20:31

them and he says you're out the kill

20:33

me And then he finally tells him in

20:35

verse forty four, you are on your father,

20:37

the Devil. They. Were not

20:39

born again. It takes more than

20:41

just believing that God exists. It.

20:44

Takes more than just a mental a sand.

20:47

Acknowledging. The Jesus existed in

20:49

that God exists even the devils believe

20:51

in tremble at the name of a

20:53

law. But won't you know a vein?

20:55

Man that faith without works is dead.

20:58

He's. Gotta do more than just acknowledge

21:01

that God exists. You've gotta commit

21:03

your lifetime. You

21:06

know, we've got people on our phones

21:08

right now. We got a phone center

21:10

in the United States over and other

21:12

countries if you're watching this. We have

21:14

some phone centers in the Uk, in

21:16

Mexico, and different places all around the

21:18

world. We have twenty two offices around

21:20

the world and hopefully they'll put up

21:23

on the screen and number, but we

21:25

have people in the Us twenty four

21:27

seven. That will take your

21:29

calls and if the day your ears

21:31

thank And while I thought that just

21:33

believing that Jesus exist his salvation. And.

21:36

If you need someone to pray with you in

21:38

explain things to yeah We've got people that will

21:40

pray with you and we would love to have

21:42

you call. And. We can help

21:44

you and we can explain what true salvation

21:47

is and this little book than I'm giving

21:49

away free. Is all about this.

21:51

He goes into detail on this. The

21:53

first half of this book is what

21:56

is true Christianity and it describes what

21:58

it takes to freely be. Warning

22:00

him more than just acknowledging that

22:02

God exists. The second half of

22:04

this book is about the Baptism

22:06

of the Holy Spirit and Jesus

22:08

told his disciples don't go anywhere.

22:11

Don't preach the gospel until you

22:13

receive power from on high. So.

22:15

We not only need salvation, but we

22:17

need this in silliness of the Holy

22:20

spirit to where we can accurately represent

22:22

God. Where it can be God flowing

22:24

through us and not just us talking

22:27

about it, but it could be God

22:29

speaking through as you need this in

22:31

part of that is speaking in tongues.

22:34

And. In the Bible when they receive the

22:37

Baptism of the Holy spirit, they spoken time

22:39

so this book will go into more detail.

22:41

I'm giving this away as a gift to

22:43

you. Leave given away hundreds of thousands of

22:46

these the people that come to our meetings

22:48

and we would love to help you. In

22:51

any way we can. We not only have

22:53

this book in English but I have this

22:55

same book in Spanish. We actually have this

22:57

translated into many different languages and if you

23:00

into our website you could find out where

23:02

all of those are buying courage to get

23:04

this. This is so important. I

23:07

think it's tragic. But. I

23:09

truly believe that there are going to

23:11

be multitude of people who thought that

23:14

they were a Christian just because they

23:16

believed some of the Christian doctrines. But.

23:18

They never committed their laughter the lord

23:21

and their heart was never changed. And.

23:23

They're going to split. hail wide open. I like,

23:25

that's tragic. Indeed, Make sure.

23:28

That. What you have is true salvation that your

23:30

heart has been changed and so we want

23:32

to help you any way we can Again
