2:16
today's grave confession. Hey,
2:26
Tony. My name is
2:28
Jordan. I'm calling from Santa Fe, New
2:30
Mexico. I've been
2:32
listening to the show for probably about
2:34
five years now, and I'm
2:37
a big fan. And
2:39
I just heard an episode about
2:42
a guy who watched The Grudge
2:44
and then started experiencing some paranormal
2:47
stuff. And I just wanted
2:50
to share my story because
2:52
it actually is kind of similar. So
2:57
my story began, I
2:59
was about, I think, 13 years old. And
3:04
I have always been kind of like dark
3:08
and actually very
3:10
spiritual, but I've always
3:12
liked horror movies and creepy stuff.
3:18
And I was at my grandmother's house and she
3:20
was like, hey, do you want to watch The
3:22
Exorcist? Have you ever seen The Exorcist? And I
3:25
was like, okay, yeah, I like horror
3:27
movies. So sure, let's go for it.
3:29
So she put it on and
3:32
we were watching it. And I was
3:35
doing okay for like the first half. I
3:37
was like, I don't know, actually, I have
3:39
never finished it. And
3:42
I got to the part where she walks down
3:44
the stairs backwards and I was like, nope, I'm
3:47
done. Which
3:49
is unusual for me because I would
3:52
normally watch the whole movie through.
3:55
But at that point, I was just like, nope,
3:57
something about this is just not okay with me.
4:00
So that happened
4:02
and sometime
4:04
after that I
4:07
started experiencing like really, really
4:09
acute anxiety and it
4:12
was mostly just at night and what
4:16
would happen is that I would
4:18
try to go to bed and I would
4:20
just not be able
4:22
to sleep for most of the night.
4:25
I was falling asleep at like three
4:27
or four in the morning every night
4:29
and I started having really
4:32
bad nightmares and
4:34
really gory nightmares and
4:37
like in them sometimes
4:39
my family would be possessed and like
4:41
trying to come after me and
4:43
different things like that but
4:47
during the times when I was laying awake
4:49
in bed at night I
4:52
would have this really overwhelming sense
4:54
of like being watched
4:57
and that I could
5:01
definitely sense like there was
5:03
some kind of presence up in the top corner
5:05
of my bedroom and it
5:08
felt like it was just really oppressive and
5:10
it felt like it was just waiting for
5:12
me to fall asleep. So
5:14
I had a really hard time for
5:17
I think it was a few months at least that
5:20
that was going on and there
5:22
was even times when like
5:25
I went to my parents
5:27
bedroom too and I was like should
5:30
I knock on the door and wake them up and piss them
5:32
off but I think I only
5:34
did that once. So
5:38
yeah I was having this
5:40
really difficult time and you know
5:43
being the dark kind of kid that I was
5:45
I kind of enjoyed the nightmares.
5:47
I know that sounds weird
5:50
to say but some of them were very
5:52
like surreal and almost
5:54
Alice in Wonderland like and
5:56
they were kind of cool and I used
5:59
to drive them. draw pictures of the stuff
6:01
that I saw and they were kind of
6:03
interesting. But, um, the
6:06
no sleep kind of thing was becoming
6:08
a problem. And my mom
6:10
was very aware. I was telling
6:12
her about my anxieties and stuff. And,
6:15
um, there was one night where
6:18
I had like a, I guess it would
6:20
be a panic attack. And,
6:23
um, I was hanging around in
6:25
her bedroom and I just
6:28
had this. Crazy panic attack.
6:30
And I was crying and
6:32
I had that overwhelming sense
6:34
that there was something in
6:37
the doorway. Um, and
6:39
I was just like kind
6:42
of crying and pointing to the doorway.
6:45
And she was like freaking
6:47
out cause she didn't know what to do. And,
6:49
um, I don't even
6:52
remember how that episode ended. Uh,
6:55
but she, she got freaked
6:57
out enough at that point to like say
6:59
that we needed to do something about it.
7:03
And what she decided
7:05
was, um, Oh, I
7:10
forgot to mention there was a time too,
7:12
that I walked into the garage door when
7:14
I came home after school. And
7:16
I saw just a flicker of
7:19
somebody sitting in the little,
7:21
my parents had
7:24
chairs in the garage at the time. Um,
7:28
and I just caught a glimpse of someone
7:30
sitting in it and that
7:33
glimpse, it looked like they were wearing a
7:35
like top hat almost, um,
7:38
which I thought was weird and
7:40
I just kind of blew it off at the time, but
7:43
yeah, so after that one really
7:45
bad panic attack, my mom decided
7:47
that we were going to pray a
7:50
novena, which is a,
7:52
like a Catholic prayer that, um,
7:57
is kind of specifically for a purpose.
8:00
and there's different types of them. And
8:04
so she had me and my brother come and
8:08
pray with her, and we had
8:10
to pray several times for, I
8:12
think it was like 24 hours, when
8:15
we had to pray at certain intervals. And
8:18
we did the nirvana, and
8:21
after that, I completely stopped
8:23
having that anxiety at night.
8:27
I didn't have any more panic
8:29
attacks or anything like that. I
8:32
don't recall seeing any more
8:34
flickers of shadows
8:36
or anything, but
8:39
I have continued
8:42
to have experiences throughout
8:45
my life. It's not like that
8:48
completely ended everything. It just ended
8:50
the oppressive darkness
8:53
at that time. So I have
8:55
lots of other stories, but I just wanted to
8:57
share that because it was similar to
8:59
the one I just heard. And
9:01
I hope you guys enjoyed it. I
9:04
really enjoy the podcast and everyone that's
9:06
involved. And yeah,
9:09
I'm so excited that I finally
9:11
got to call and share a story with
9:13
you guys. Good
9:16
luck to everyone, and have a good
