His journey in music started in church when he learned to play the piano at the age of two. His inspiration came from watching his mother sing on the choir and both parents playing some of the best old school music ever created around the house.

Through the years, JT became more experienced and eager to follow his passion on a professional level. Up to 2020, JT Cotton has become one of the biggest independent artists in the world under the radar. JT has been featured on over 100 media outlets including: fm/indie stations, blogs, and many events with some of the most respected names in music and entertainment. Also, JT hosts two of the hottest radio shows on The Donna Walton Gospel Network called "Holy Matrimony Love Jams" and "Real Talk with JT Cotton".
