If you've ever experienced a loss like the one the main characters of this podcast have, The Grotto is going to hit you HARD. Through the effective use of horror staples like liminal spaces and body horror, it takes an unflinching, honest look at themes like grief, depression, survivor's guilt. This podcast made me feel seen, to the point of it being uncomfortable at times, but ultimately very cathartic. The characters are very human (well, except for [spoiler]) and relatable. The voice acting is excellent, and the overarching story/mystery is super compelling. I can't wait to find out what happens next.Oh and there's sad gay pining in it.
