Today's special guest is Jeff. Jeff is a natural adventurer, an ultramarathon runner, a global traveler to 85 countries including two tours in Afghanistan, a senior official in state, federal, and non-profit leadership, and now a technology startup executive. Most recently, he has been transformed into an anti-Asian hate activist after being spit on last year in an airport and told to go back to where he comes from. (As a Vietnamese American, he doesn’t think she meant California.) He writes thought pieces, serve as an opinion-maker, and now provides advice and trainings to first time political candidates. Recently, he was quoted for a front page story in the New York Times focused on the physical and mental health concerns of AAPI community members as the country opens up from the pandemic, which was also the paper’s Quotation of the Day.
