Hi Def this. How are you so

0:05

good? See a bad you're here? Are

0:07

you gotta feeling? There's gonna be an

0:09

awesome conversation? In. Thirty seconds

0:11

or less. Why should someone? Give

0:15

this episode their full as attention all

0:17

the way till the and hacker writhing

0:19

is amy fun and adding be some

0:22

am in. I don't know it will

0:24

tell you about but I'm pretty sure

0:26

it'll give some inspiration. I feel like

0:28

I'm be inspired and I feel like

0:30

if I'm inspired then that transmits and

0:33

talking to you you know staying connected

0:35

to what our life is really all

0:37

about and sometimes it takes conversation that

0:39

takes like unpacking things that takes a

0:41

little more time and that's why I

0:44

like. Doing. These. I love that I'm there.

0:46

I'm. How did your

0:48

journey? In. I know

0:51

that you for was on Yoga Mayor

0:53

Beta when. I definitely want to

0:55

get into. I have a Roku for sure he

0:57

has. I think it's this will be the first

0:59

time we ever discuss it on the show. Agree

1:01

and I find some incredible healing and magic in

1:03

it. How did your journey began? Well.

1:06

My journey began in a couple

1:08

important ways. The first: As a

1:11

teenager I was. I.

1:13

Was I get sick? I was had

1:15

some health challenges and it was it

1:17

I think now that I look back.

1:20

in retrospect, I grew up in the

1:22

air in the southeast United States, south

1:24

Carolina and I currently live in Northern

1:26

California where my journey took me. But

1:28

as for I grew up as from

1:31

from and I think looking back at

1:33

it. The. Two things: I'm time

1:35

hours, one health challenges in one was

1:37

really like search for identity. Who am

1:40

I? What is this? and now that

1:42

I can look at it, in retrospect,

1:44

those things were definitely tied together and

1:47

so. I had some

1:49

digestive things going on that

1:51

just could not. Nobody.

1:53

Could really figure out what was going on

1:55

so that sent me the looking for more

1:58

alternative ways to try to heal. The

2:00

South that eventually sent me into

2:02

yoga practice. Yoga practice led me

2:04

to the healing side of yoga

2:07

which in India's gotta your vid

2:09

a the healing science serves a

2:11

yoga and and. It. Just

2:14

kinda like. Took. My life

2:16

and such a beautiful direction and that

2:18

and and that's what it I find.

2:20

It's really about it's it is. This

2:22

kind of blossoming goes. there are real

2:24

identity of I who are we? What

2:26

is this of what is this whole

2:28

thing about and I always can. I

2:30

had that question. It always really bothered

2:32

me and as a young person even

2:34

I can remember like soon hoops in

2:36

my driveway. it it just I can

2:38

in my own imagination world like we

2:41

do and were kids and we're playing

2:43

sports and. And. Then

2:45

are just like have this spontaneously

2:47

this the thought that Eminem. Pass.

2:51

Away one day. And actually

2:53

first I would think about like oh my

2:55

parents are going to. To. Says

2:57

a young kid. I didn't I suppose this does

2:59

happen to him. I don't know. Sam's the most

3:02

of his happened to me my stomach would drop

3:04

him. And. Are now looking

3:06

back as like those was some

3:08

sort of like almost like intelligence.

3:10

like waves of intelligence. That

3:12

was causing me to pay attention

3:14

to what is actually Rio, What

3:16

is actually important. And.

3:19

Now that you that you hear that

3:21

now or I hear that now from

3:23

the Buddha talking about paying paying attention

3:25

to the impermanent nature of things which

3:28

at first feel scary to think about.

3:30

oh my body's not gonna last forever.

3:32

Maybe we get a little older. You

3:34

start tax, we see it happening. And.

3:37

It's not comfortable. always. But.

3:40

Actually, to pay attention to

3:42

the impermanent nature of things

3:45

gives that person happiness. Gives.

3:47

A person actually blissful ness if they

3:49

go far enough with it said. These

3:51

things that on the surface can seem

3:53

really scary actually can also be gateways

3:56

and to like the best things. So.

3:59

yeah gusto with a health challenge.

4:01

And what age is that? That

4:03

was like, I was like 16. Oh,

4:06

so young. Yeah, pretty young. And

4:08

then I went to, I left South Carolina to,

4:10

I've always been a music person. I love,

4:12

love music. And still to this day, what we

4:14

do in Life Force Academy is very musically oriented.

4:17

And I was going to study

4:19

recording, production in the recording industry

4:21

near Nashville, Tennessee. And

4:23

I just kind of got, you know,

4:26

ended up in this Kundalini yoga class.

4:28

And in that time in like Tennessee,

4:30

South Carolina, there's no yoga studios around

4:32

really. And certainly not for

4:34

Kundalini yoga. And I had

4:36

never, I didn't even know what yoga, I

4:38

knew that yoga had something to do with

4:41

stretching. And I knew it had some kind

4:43

of spirituality involved. And I

4:45

was already definitely on the spiritual search. I

4:47

grew up in a Jewish family. I did

4:49

the whole, you know, I was bar mitzvah

4:51

and everything. But then I was

4:53

trying to figure it out for myself. Yeah. Because

4:57

I grew up in the Bible

4:59

Belt and I was the only, me and my siblings

5:01

were the only Jewish kids in a high school of

5:03

like 2,500 people. Wow.

5:05

You know, so I already had a little bit of an outlier

5:08

archetype to my life, you know, it always

5:10

felt a little different. And now

5:13

I've, you know, from the

5:15

exterior, I think appear quite different, but

5:18

I don't feel different at all, you know. And

5:21

so I was searching and

5:23

I had to, even

5:26

at that time as a teenager, I had

5:28

found like books by like Dalai Lama and

5:32

Ram Dass. You know, I'd like come across

5:34

and be here now. Eventually I found autobiography

5:36

of a yogi. These

5:39

great, great wonderful books that changed my

5:41

life, you know, books. And

5:44

then I ended up in this yoga

5:46

class and I felt

5:48

like I was floating for like a week

5:51

after, you know, on a just like walking

5:53

around campus. I just felt light and great

5:55

in my body. And so He

5:57

grabbed me and I wasn't able to focus

5:59

on. Cool. so much after that in

6:01

that context And then I moved back

6:03

to South Carolina when in the religious

6:05

studies at that will maybe that Ob

6:07

what I'm more interested in now because

6:09

I had had this kind of like

6:11

spiritual lightning bolt and I hit my

6:13

life. And. And

6:16

I can soak is on academic religious

6:18

studies. Other had some good experiences there

6:20

so I was still on the ceiling

6:22

journey. Were doing much better and I

6:24

had really through yoga. I had heard

6:26

about Ayers it and I had started

6:29

reading books on it. And

6:31

I are vader I years his

6:33

lies in they does like science

6:35

is really just means the science

6:37

of life. And

6:39

there at that point in the U S

6:41

there is to say main schools where you

6:44

could study I or vader. One was in

6:46

Albuquerque and one was in Northern California and

6:48

Grass Valley. In

6:50

the Sierra Nevada Foothills. Nazr.

6:53

Ended up. And I went

6:55

to study up there. And just to make a

6:57

long story short, I still live there. I.

7:00

Am I in? I arrived in that

7:02

studying that are now I was I

7:04

I couldn't get enough see and I

7:07

could not get enough and that just

7:09

an I've practiced clinically for a while,

7:11

but when I really found that I've

7:14

always loved is a teaching. And

7:16

even that first yoga class I took

7:19

back in Tennessee. That teacher the three

7:21

hours away. So yeah, After. About a

7:23

year or so he's a in. I can't come up

7:25

here. That. Often. He's.

7:27

I y one as you just when you can

7:29

lead it. So. I started

7:31

at that eighteen year old

7:33

leading the yoga classes on

7:36

the campus of Middle Tennessee

7:38

State. And immediately it just kind

7:40

of worked. In a just ten I worked. And.

7:43

i haven't stopped at a wanna

7:45

talk to about yoga and yeah

7:47

i think that there's so many

7:49

people that are listening that have

7:51

this perception of yoga the air

7:53

you know and might have some

7:55

seer attached to yoga sir what

7:57

am i gonna wear grey know

8:00

Where am I gonna find the class? You know,

8:02

I feel like especially here in America.

8:05

We have like, you

8:07

know we have Tell

8:10

me what you think but we've taken

8:13

yoga away from what it actually is

8:16

from how healing and how beautiful

8:20

it is and and how How

8:22

much of a vehicle it can be to

8:24

reconnect to your life, you know So

8:27

if someone is listening, why

8:29

is it important for them to

8:31

first, you know practice

8:34

yoga and and secondly

8:38

How can yoga be used as a

8:41

vehicle into higher consciousness

8:43

healing Spiritual

8:45

awakening like why yoga? Yeah,

8:48

it's kind of all that and what I

8:50

can say why it why for me okay

8:52

in particular because what

8:56

and like you said yoga yoga is in India

8:58

in where

9:02

it comes where it comes from is It's

9:06

a big word and there's a lot that

9:08

falls under its umbrella So what

9:10

how we think of yoga in the

9:12

Western or modern world? We

9:15

think in a physical practice and have some

9:17

idea of that like I did like it

9:19

was some stretching it somehow Spiritual that's all

9:22

I knew I remember being in my dorm

9:24

room the night before like seeing

9:26

if I could touch my toes I couldn't even

9:28

touch my knees, you know And I was really

9:30

nervous about going and I think like most people

9:32

are the first time And then

9:34

what I found out is like none of that matters None

9:37

of that matters because it just meets you

9:39

where you're at. What does that mean? This

9:41

is very important. Yeah, cool What is which

9:44

part mean it? What does it meets

9:46

you where you're at? Yes Well,

9:49

it meets you where you're at because

9:52

what yoga is about is Really

9:55

just kind of blossoming into your

9:57

own nature and Whether.

10:00

It's physically, mentally, emotionally. All of

10:02

that yoga is concerned to has

10:04

a particularly when we think of

10:06

it more physically is really more

10:09

about the mind. It really is.

10:11

and it's about transformation of our

10:13

mental tendencies that cause us. The

10:16

patterns That we all have. Emotional patterns.

10:19

Mental patterns that are causing us to

10:21

kind of be a little miserable and

10:23

and and as cool thing is the

10:25

hard part is is noticing those things

10:27

and being a real about them that

10:30

they actually I do have patterns that

10:32

are causing me misery. That. Causing

10:34

others cause suffering at least in

10:36

were unaware. Yeah, exactly. It's mostly

10:38

subconscious is a threat a be

10:40

a hum So much a part

10:43

of the ways that we live.

10:45

Yeah, we are unaware that there

10:47

is even another way to live

10:49

Cs. Yeah, and. And we sink

10:51

that it is us. When.

10:54

In actuality, it is. It's a part

10:56

of us. It's a. Call it

10:58

unhealed part of us, it's a. It's.

11:00

A part of us that that

11:02

we have not addressed he at

11:05

him and yoga. Is.

11:07

That is one of the vehicles. That we

11:09

can use to address it. Yeah, not only

11:11

address it, but. Transform.

11:13

It nice of instance, say I'm

11:15

kind of perpetually anxious. A lot

11:17

of us are, how can you

11:19

not be living on. The

11:21

planet Earth and Twenty Twenty Four

11:23

as a lot to worry about

11:25

and. However,

11:28

To. Be dominated by anxiousness even if

11:30

it's kind of just maybe it's

11:32

not. You couldn't most of us

11:34

wouldn't go to. Get

11:36

that diagnosed as like anxiety disorder

11:38

where we have like underlying worry.

11:41

Underlying anxiousness. Yoga practice when

11:43

done well and done with

11:45

a little bit of consistency.

11:47

That same thing that was

11:50

causing a person anxiousness can

11:52

give up the a person

11:54

like a tremendous vitality. the

11:57

same thing that is causing our us to

11:59

be stuck in depression, like a more

12:01

heavy type of state,

12:04

that same same energy

12:06

when it's transformed can

12:09

produce a deep vitality. So not

12:11

only are they a part of

12:13

us, these kind of this, it's

12:15

really a circulation of energy that

12:17

then stimulates the mental and emotional

12:19

body. When that is

12:22

can express itself in a more desirable form, the

12:24

same thing that we thought was that we thought

12:27

it's like oh we're so bad, you know, we

12:29

get self-loathing and

12:31

we sometimes

12:33

when we expose ourselves to I

12:37

am such a this or I am such

12:39

a that and we feel lousy about ourselves,

12:42

that same thing can be something

12:44

that makes you feel incredible about

12:47

yourself because it taps

12:49

you into really the more

12:51

substantive energy of who you

12:55

really are and what this really is and

12:58

that fills you up with a sense of purpose.

13:00

I love that you said

13:02

that because in my journey and in the

13:04

people that we work with so often, that

13:07

thing that that that

13:09

call it for lack of better

13:12

words, that negative side

13:14

of them, if

13:16

when when they go into it,

13:19

yeah, like there's light on the

13:21

other side of that and in many ways I

13:23

have found that there

13:25

is normally a gift, a

13:27

lesson. It normally is the

13:29

doorway to discover who it is that you

13:32

really are and what your

13:34

purpose potentially could be, what your

13:36

gifting is, what your offer to

13:38

the world is. Absolutely. And so

13:41

many people that suffer from anxiety

13:43

or suffer from fear or suffer

13:45

from depression or whatever, my message

13:49

to you is that on the other side of

13:51

that, could

13:54

potentially be your gifting

13:56

to the world. Definitely. Yeah. Yeah.

13:58

It was for me and I

14:01

was had the teenage years can be

14:03

hard no matter what but

14:05

then if you're sick and then that

14:07

creates insecurities that what

14:10

seemed to be like such a

14:12

such a curse you know at the time

14:14

became the best blessing that ever happened and

14:16

I think a lot of us have that

14:19

experience hundred percent hundred percent and what it

14:21

does do is you know sometimes I know

14:23

we think of purpose especially

14:26

in our in the modern world we think in a

14:28

kind of almost a career

14:30

orientation but I

14:33

don't think purpose starts there

14:35

obviously purpose is a purposefulness

14:37

meaningfulness is something we feel

14:40

something we something that is alive

14:42

inside of us that extends to every

14:44

single part of our life whether it's

14:46

our relationship with our kids or

14:49

in our love relationships or family

14:51

relationships and work relationships so when

14:53

I think purpose it

14:56

has it's something that starts

14:58

inside and connects to every

15:00

facet of life including

15:03

career but not certainly not limited to

15:05

it I love that yeah in many

15:07

ways purposes what

15:09

we are yes yeah there's not and

15:11

always have been that's the inside that

15:13

you see when you get to the

15:16

other side that all along the way

15:18

it was purpose all along

15:20

the way it actually was some perfection

15:23

while life is happening it seems like

15:26

it at the time it seems like

15:28

just kind of unconnected random events happening

15:30

but you get a little older especially

15:32

if you're following a path with some

15:34

sense of and I don't mean following

15:36

a path like religious I

15:39

mean just following the natural path of

15:41

one's life and and having some awareness

15:43

around it and being an active participant

15:45

in opening it up well

15:47

that's what yoga practice and so many when

15:49

I say yoga practice too when I say

15:51

it I think anything

15:54

that any practice that someone

15:56

is doing that helps them

15:58

to transform themselves into more

16:00

of who they really are. That's called

16:02

yoga. That is yoga. That's yoga. And

16:05

then you have this rich tradition from

16:07

India and so many schools of

16:09

yoga and some

16:11

of them don't involve anything that has to

16:14

do with exercises. But in the West mostly

16:16

we use that because we are, we need

16:18

it largely. We need something physical, something

16:21

that just like gets me in my

16:23

body, something that doesn't rely on my

16:25

intellect, that can bypass all my emotional

16:27

turbulence and just use my breath, taken

16:30

in hell. Put

16:32

the body like this, put the arm like this.

16:34

It's like push that in, push

16:36

that lever in, push that lever up. There

16:38

was a short in the system and

16:41

then now everything's connected and firing.

16:44

Maybe there was a short or there was some sort

16:46

of wires not

16:49

connecting somehow. Now you

16:51

get that life force flowing, everything

16:53

feels connected. You don't have to

16:55

go find a purpose. There's no where

16:57

that purpose is. That's right. Yes, yes, yes.

17:01

I hope you guys grab that. I hope you

17:03

guys grab that because so many people, they message

17:05

and they email us and it's like, what's my

17:07

purpose? Exactly, yeah. What's

17:09

my purpose? And in

17:11

truthfulness we have an event

17:13

called Discover and we

17:15

use that as a word like Discover Your

17:17

Purpose. And people are like, oh, I'm finally

17:19

gonna know what to do. No, no, no,

17:21

no, no. Your purpose is not in

17:24

what you do. Your purpose is in what you are. Yeah,

17:27

but you don't wanna tell them too much

17:29

of that. No, no, no, no, because they

17:32

don't understand. Right, absolutely. They won't come. Then

17:34

they won't come. Exactly, exactly. They miss all

17:36

the goodness. Exactly, absolutely, absolutely. Awaken

17:39

your truest potential, heal any limitations

17:41

within and transform your life forever.

17:43

That's right. In the upcoming weeks,

17:46

Awaken is going to be coming

17:48

18:13

18:15

awaken now to get your

18:17

tickets today. I

18:20

want to dive into Ayurveda.

18:23

Let's I want to dive into Ayurveda

18:25

because for a lot of people

18:28

out there they have no idea what

18:30

it is and

18:32

for me and my journey it's

18:35

so much truth.

18:41

The food, the energies, if

18:43

you're a pitta, a vata,

18:46

let's start with the basics.

18:49

What is Ayurveda? Well, Ayurveda is

18:51

a science of life and that

18:53

is what it means, ayus and

18:56

Ayurveda. What

18:58

it is is a system, it can be

19:00

thought of as a system of medicine and

19:02

healing but often when

19:04

we say medicine and healing we think about fixing

19:08

something that's gone wrong or

19:11

I have some symptom that I'm trying

19:13

to cure or some trying to alleviate.

19:16

That's really not the essence. Ayurveda is

19:18

excellent at doing that but that's not

19:20

its starting point. That starting point is

19:22

understanding your own nature and your own

19:24

body and how your own

19:27

mind operates and because each one of

19:29

us is totally unique in that respect.

19:32

Can I say something? There

19:34

is immense medicine in that

19:37

because nowadays we have so

19:39

many people on social media trying to

19:42

get you to exercise the way they

19:44

exercise, trying to get you to eat

19:46

the way that they eat and there's

19:48

so much confusion and I just find

19:51

so much medicine in what you just

19:53

said is that we are all

19:56

uniquely individuals so what works

19:58

for us may not work

20:00

for you and what works for you may

20:03

not work for me but

20:05

the journey in discovering yeah

20:07

that uniqueness and

20:09

what foods mm-hmm you

20:12

know what what what energy works for

20:14

you exercise exercise there's beauty in them

20:16

mm-hmm absolutely and so much wisdom in

20:19

it this this Ayurveda is

20:21

easily 5,000 years old and

20:25

it stands a test of time it's just

20:27

as relevant now because it's really it's just

20:29

based on simple principles of nature and

20:32

you don't have to know biochemistry to

20:34

understand that anyone I can teach it

20:36

when my son's 18 now

20:38

but even when he was young it was

20:41

you know I could share with him basic

20:43

principles of Ayurveda that are so practical for

20:45

instance it's that we're all

20:47

just made up of five elements then

20:49

there's five elements in the system earth

20:51

water fire air and the fifth

20:53

is space or ether and

20:56

so the muscles of the body the tissue

20:58

layers of the body parts of the body

21:00

that you can feel is earth element water

21:03

element is that which brings

21:05

moisture that which is that

21:07

you have the the fluids of

21:10

in the eyes you have

21:12

the moisture in the mouth so it's

21:14

not just water as an h2o but

21:16

water element means that which gives moisture

21:19

that which causes flow fire

21:21

is that which transforms and

21:23

creates warmth and so your

21:25

digestive enzymes and the blood

21:27

that is circulating the

21:29

the heart that is pumping the

21:32

blood and circulating it through the

21:35

cardiovascular system take

21:37

make sure if you don't have cold hands and feet so

21:40

fire is is is that which warms

21:42

and that which transforms you eat some

21:44

some you eat a take a bite

21:47

of an apple that apple meets the

21:49

fire at the digestive system what they

21:51

call the jet their Agni and Ayurveda

21:53

just means the fire in the belly

21:56

and that trans that then literally

21:58

transforms that apple into your body,

22:02

what you are literally what you eat. But

22:04

you also are what you don't

22:07

assimilate and you are what you don't

22:09

eliminate. So that's why Ayurveda puts so

22:11

much emphasis on, first and

22:13

foremost, above anything else, even more important than

22:16

what you eat, is how well

22:18

can you digest it? And so it

22:20

puts emphasis first on making

22:22

sure your digestion is solid.

22:25

And when your digestion is solid,

22:28

you can turn even difficult things

22:30

into nutrients. So

22:33

that's fire. Air is that which

22:35

moves things, air elements. So right

22:37

now my hands are moving as

22:40

I'm talking, there's sound coming through,

22:42

the tongue is moving, the

22:44

brain somehow is sending signals through the

22:46

nervous system, creating movement. That's all governed

22:48

by air element. I take a breath

22:50

in, feel

22:52

my lungs up, but take a breath out, air

22:55

element. And then space, so

22:58

earth, water, fire, air, moving through channels

23:00

of space. I have the channel of

23:02

my digestive system, begins at the mouth,

23:04

goes all the way down. You have

23:06

the channels of your cardiovascular

23:09

system. You have the channels

23:11

of the nervous system, so

23:13

to speak. So the body is a whole

23:15

bunch of channels in the space. So

23:18

that's how you start to understand the, in

23:21

a very simple way, how the body works.

23:24

Now, here's where we all become

23:26

unique. Certain people are

23:28

born with more predominance

23:30

of say like earth and water. And

23:33

they have less fire and less

23:35

air and ether. Those people they

23:37

call kaffa type body type. How

23:39

do you spell that? K-A-P-H-A. K-A-P-H-A,

23:42

okay. If you think of earth and water

23:44

together, it's like makes mud. So kaffa is

23:46

like more heavier. So there's people who are

23:49

stockier. They have shorter bones,

23:52

but thicker bones usually. They

23:54

have more of a rounded features, Round

23:58

face, wider nose bridge. The

24:00

thicker skin, bigger lives.

24:03

Then. You have on the opposite side

24:05

of there's a predominance of air and

24:07

Easter in the constitution. This is when

24:09

you're this is the most can have

24:11

known and popular part of Ayers Eight

24:13

and people can go to our website

24:15

and they can do a quiz and

24:17

they can find out what their constitution

24:20

as ten and to do you do

24:22

have a website yet cynically series what?

24:24

Yeah people can just type in L

24:26

S A.yoga that stands for Life Force

24:28

Academy. Ls. Say.yoga is the

24:30

U R L okay and they can

24:32

go to the web say they can

24:34

take tires it quiz and so much

24:37

more. So if that the

24:39

air and Easter is predominant in the constitution,

24:41

that's what they call avast of the A

24:43

t a body type and that's more of

24:45

a. The. Features that will

24:48

be center and longer. The

24:50

opposite of the casa person

24:52

said this is longer extremities,

24:54

more and more kind of

24:56

over save face is more

24:58

narrow nose bridge sinners scan.

25:00

In. A more sensitive nervous systems

25:02

so the whereas the casa person

25:05

tends to be ton of steady

25:07

and calm but they can tend

25:09

towards complacency and stagnates since the

25:11

air and ether votre person tends

25:13

to be more towards the worrying

25:16

side of things. a little more

25:18

little more on that insists side

25:20

of i'm up here yes yeah

25:22

Liam Cerebral and very nervous system

25:25

active air stimulating circulating Abbott They

25:27

also the ones who are quite

25:29

a light and. Uplifting and sunday

25:31

be around. And and so each of

25:33

these things they have their kind of

25:35

what I think of like assets and

25:38

their liabilities. Okay in the middle of

25:40

the fire person and thus to the

25:42

P A T T A. And.

25:44

The fire person and tends to have

25:46

more moderate features, but there's usually an

25:48

intensity to them. There's more like kind

25:51

of angular features to the jaw. Ah,

25:54

More intensity that he usually that

25:56

deeper set eyes sometimes will actually

25:58

have red hair. Or yeah,

26:00

freckles on the skin? That's all pit the

26:02

qualities. It's now the fact is most of

26:05

us that we're all a combination of all

26:07

of it. That's that's A that was where

26:09

I'm I'm looking here because I'm he and

26:12

remember which when I was yeah yeah I

26:14

believe you're a cassette adaptor that Casa is

26:16

out okay at just from looking at you

26:18

can we can dive deeper into the had

26:21

yeah yeah as so boat Coconut tonight about

26:23

how many could I? all these are these

26:25

guys. Please listen. suspect that the police because

26:28

you have no idea. like I notice. Rather

26:30

you are already taken your nose cause I urge. You

26:32

have no idea to the magic that

26:34

is in I are veda. Is

26:36

and how we could absolutely change

26:39

your life. Yeah and how you

26:41

may be eating right like the

26:43

world. Has told you they eat. But.

26:45

It could literally be the

26:48

opposite of what you actually

26:50

are here. And this

26:52

is mind. Blowing when you finally understand

26:54

that yes or what we're often tends

26:56

to happen is is. Well.

26:59

We're. All the all of all of all

27:02

of our bodies are made up of earth,

27:04

water, fire, air, and space. Easier. And.

27:07

And what the constitution says I'm a

27:09

casa person than as saying. In

27:12

relation, in proportion to all the

27:14

elements, there's a predominance of earth

27:16

and water. Most. People are

27:19

not the stereotypical casa or the

27:21

stereotypical butter. Most people are like

27:23

I'm a pit de casa the

27:26

of a primary and secondary. That's

27:28

right. And and so if for

27:30

instance erupted the person more sorry

27:33

person, That's the person who often,

27:35

not always, but often. Is.

27:38

Is the first to grab the hot sauce. Is.

27:41

But they're also the ones that are either skin

27:44

as a little red, their eyes are a little

27:46

red. they're kind of. They keep on like blowing

27:48

up at their ways. in other angers

27:50

they will uncontrolled okay and they keep going

27:53

after the hot sauce their the one that

27:55

kind and these the more of the salon

27:57

true mellow down and have more this a

27:59

launcher Right, right. If the launcher cools the

28:02

blood, you know, and when you

28:04

already have over it. So the principle there

28:06

is we kind

28:08

of gravitate towards our tendency. So

28:12

if I'm a kuffa person, I already have

28:14

a lot of earth and water. That's why I

28:16

just like to chill. Chill. Yeah.

28:19

Whereas it would be most important for

28:21

me is to get up earlier and

28:23

work out because your metabolism is going

28:25

to be a little slower than the

28:27

Vata persons. The Vata person

28:30

over there, the skinnier person, the one

28:32

who tends to go more towards worry,

28:36

but like in modern culture, for

28:38

instance, the beauty of what, like

28:41

for instance, what a beautiful woman has been

28:43

projected at by mass media is more of

28:45

like a Vata frame, but they want the

28:47

kuffa lips. You know what I mean? And

28:51

so when you learn your body

28:53

type, you learn what your natural beauty

28:55

is. That's right. The beautiful kuffa person,

28:58

the beautiful Vata person, the beautiful Pitta

29:00

person, you appreciate how you are and

29:03

you learn both what your strengths

29:05

are and your potential weaknesses. So

29:07

my potential weakness as a Vata person

29:09

is I can tend to over

29:12

worry. I can become overwhelmed.

29:15

The colder emotions, fear, worry,

29:17

overwhelm. So

29:19

if you've been listening to my podcast

29:22

for a while, you'll know that I'm

29:24

a strong believer and advocate for plant

29:26

medicine and its ability to awaken and

29:28

heal the mind, body and soul. It's

29:31

a belief that is deeply rooted in

29:33

my own personal experience with both ayahuasca

29:35

and psilocybin mushrooms. And many

29:37

of you for years have always asked me, you know, Danny,

29:39

where do I go? Who can I

29:42

trust? And there is only one place I

29:44

would ever recommend or put my name behind

29:46

and that is reunion. Reunion is

29:48

a place where you could set yourself free from

29:50

whatever is holding you back from living the

29:52

life of your dreams. It's a beachfront, beautiful

29:54

property that is in Costa Rica. And what

29:57

I love about it is that it's not

29:59

for profit. The Emphasis: The only

30:01

thing that they focus on

30:03

is the preservation and that

30:05

safe utilization of these beautiful,

30:08

wonderful medicines. And I only

30:10

feel comfortable putting my name behind it

30:12

because I am personal friends and have

30:14

journeyed with some of the members of

30:16

the facilitating team Guys I'm honored to

30:19

have align myself with them to create

30:34

30:53

more God or Union experience.org

30:55

and get ready. So. Could

30:57

I Could It could we. Use.

31:00

Me as an example. That's right.

31:02

so. When. I turned to

31:04

I or Veda. I turn to I

31:06

or Beta, one of my predominant. Health.

31:09

Issues or case sleep Ah

31:11

kei. And

31:13

last night I. Have a wonderful sleeps.

31:16

Yeah! But. There are literally nights.

31:18

Were I could lay there all

31:20

night I will not like saw

31:22

the sleep than. right? Yeah.

31:25

I'm I'm trying not to overseeing

31:27

and yeah, I know how to

31:30

meditate, right? Ah, I just feel

31:32

myself like. Up. Here

31:34

here or when. I'm. Down here they

31:36

are laid out. I get tired. It

31:39

has happened natural. Yeah. And

31:41

then, what? I can't sleep. I oversaw

31:43

think about never been able to. actually

31:45

you know I'm saying I And and

31:47

so then I go. Two or three

31:50

days are no for thinking about in

31:52

fact that I can sleep right? But

31:54

last files a man others entire and

31:56

it just happens. Yeah right. So so

31:58

so. I go. I find out

32:01

that I seek my butter is too.

32:03

High and I have to reduce that.

32:05

Yes, And the way that I reduce

32:07

that is through like soupy foods and

32:09

so forth. and so more than. The

32:12

a Heavier foods, warmer foods. Can.

32:15

I say one more thing to go and it's also.

32:17

Interesting. This is and gets on my

32:19

case about this. I'm the kind of

32:21

guy you know. I know, how. I

32:23

want to live in my body. My

32:26

wanna be the strong as I possibly

32:28

could be, the lean as I could

32:30

possibly be the fastest. The most flexible

32:32

like. My. Body and it's

32:34

ability. It's a very. Important thing for

32:37

me? the. So. For a while

32:39

for but on this I know you're going

32:41

to kick off get a kick out of

32:43

his. For a while I followed this diet.

32:45

There were I saw for twenty three hours.

32:47

Or to I only ate was in a

32:49

thirty minute window and I happens it eat

32:52

about an hour before I get to bed.

32:54

I. Didn't sleep for a whole year. As you

32:56

say that would say. That

32:59

will send the votre through the roof, through the

33:01

roof, through the roof. That's what happened and that

33:03

that's a very common thing, By the way is

33:05

because. And that's a complicated

33:07

too much. But there's one thing we

33:10

have is what's called our Constitution where

33:12

I have it a cause pretty. But.

33:14

Then there's the at the kind of

33:16

the state of what's going on. On

33:19

the surface, and that's what they

33:21

call vicar to. So so. So.

33:24

Anna and sometimes it's called the state of

33:26

imbalance. So. You have your

33:28

constitution that's like that's determined at

33:30

conception. At. The at the time

33:33

of birth. And. And

33:35

says I'm a pit The person how I

33:37

tend to go out of balance is and

33:39

hot ways fiery ways. I already have a

33:42

lot of fum rt a fiery person. The.

33:44

Tendency is to be attracted the fiery

33:47

things. You want to be more competitive

33:49

You want any, Do need to find

33:51

healthy outlets for your fires. are you

33:53

get? You're not trying to turn it

33:55

off. But. you do need

33:57

to find healthy outlets for because

33:59

otherwise that side is going to

34:01

express itself somewhere and often it

34:03

might not be ideal. That

34:06

fire that you might want to use on

34:09

the basketball court is coming

34:11

out in marital dynamics,

34:13

no bueno. At

34:19

the same time Ayurveda shows

34:21

that you already know you're a

34:24

fiery person. Your tendency is going to

34:26

be going out of balance in fiery

34:28

ways. You have a lifestyle

34:30

and you have things and types of

34:32

foods that you eat and it doesn't

34:34

have to be major shifts

34:36

to the diet. Often it's

34:39

refinements. Refinements

34:41

to the diet, small things that when

34:43

done, consistency over longer periods of time

34:45

make a huge difference. Let's

34:50

use me as a case study. I

34:54

want to lose a little body fat.

34:57

I know that I feel but I want to put

35:00

on some muscle. I want

35:02

to stay mobile and flexible. What

35:06

has worked for me in the past is eating

35:08

only one to two meals a day. When

35:12

I eat one, I don't sleep. When

35:14

I eat two, I sleep a little bit better.

35:18

When I eat some potatoes, I normally

35:20

sleep a little bit better. I guess for

35:23

someone who is a what do you think I am? What

35:26

we're talking about right now is what we call

35:28

Vikriti which is currently what's happening,

35:32

the state of imbalance. What

35:35

I was going to, one just kind

35:37

of nuance to throw on top of this that's completely

35:39

relevant to this is that

35:42

why I was saying if you're a kapha person, you tend

35:44

to go out of balance in a kapha way. If you're

35:46

a pita person, you tend to go out of balance in

35:48

a pita way but Vata is the king of all, king

35:51

of all disease because Vata is

35:54

motion and movement and in this fast

35:56

paced incredibly connected world that we live

35:58

in, we are all. suffering from

36:01

Vata imbalance. Too much Vata. Too

36:03

much Vata and in some

36:05

cases it's pronounced. I don't know exactly your

36:07

constitution but what I do know about you

36:09

just from meeting you today and even walking

36:11

in, you have an incredible engine. You

36:14

have a strong energy and you kind

36:16

of have a magnetism and I think

36:18

it's often that type of engine, I'm

36:21

familiar with it myself, it's

36:25

so dynamic and

36:27

it's purpose-driven. You have it for

36:29

a reason, there's work to do

36:32

but when it comes to the softer parts

36:34

of life like going to sleep, that

36:37

you have to takes training and

36:40

so to bring the Vata down

36:43

and also the Pitta down because

36:45

part of it is drive. The

36:47

Pitta part is I'm gonna

36:49

do this like you're describing, I'm gonna do

36:51

this, I want to lose this much, I'm

36:53

gonna do this exercise so it's all ambitious

36:55

energy. Wow, just in

36:57

me saying that is... Yeah,

37:00

it's ambition. It's not flow, it's not

37:02

being. And you're a master of ambition

37:06

and I just met you and I

37:08

know that and so that is your

37:12

tendency and it's a superpower but

37:14

even the superpowers have

37:16

their curses and so like

37:19

in one case maybe it's I can't get

37:21

to sleep. So then you

37:23

create a protocol, you use that superpower

37:25

of your ambition and then

37:28

you put up and this is what a

37:30

Pitta energy can do is then you can

37:32

even schedule at

37:34

this time because I know I want to be

37:37

asleep by a bound this time, you

37:39

need it. So we get older, we

37:41

need it more and so

37:44

then you say, well I'm gonna do this herbal protocol,

37:46

it'll start at this time, I'll take

37:48

a dose at this time and then 20

37:50

minutes later I'll take another little dose, 20

37:52

minutes later I'll take another dose. Not to

37:55

do this forever but to

37:57

start to train your organism.

38:00

how to put itself to sleep. And

38:02

you start to create more of that circadian rhythm.

38:05

So at some point, and then you get up

38:07

and boom, it's ambition time. But

38:09

then at a certain point, this thing

38:11

has to start to wind off and

38:13

down, get into a feminine space. And

38:16

yeah, okay. So

38:19

that would be the idea. And so the, so

38:21

here's a key piece for everyone that anyone can

38:23

practice this, because we all deal with vata. And

38:26

the thing that, that

38:28

is best for vata even beyond any, so

38:30

many foods, you can use so many herbs.

38:33

But the thing that is totally free is

38:36

rhythm of routine, right?

38:39

More regularity of routine. And of course you

38:41

have to do it within context of your

38:43

life and what, and what your work

38:46

schedule is. But so,

38:49

so relative regularity

38:52

of routine, putting

38:54

rituals into place in your life, like

38:56

a ritual could be taking, you know,

38:58

taking the herbal medicine that you were

39:00

going to take at this time and

39:03

sitting down and doing some sort of

39:05

like pranayama breathing that starts to kind

39:07

of, not only is it going to

39:09

mellow the nervous system and help you

39:11

move towards sleep, it's going to

39:13

make you kind of blissful, you know, and feel

39:15

good. And then you're going to go to sleep

39:17

like in this, like, ah, so you can, you

39:20

know, if like you're highly ambitious

39:22

person, like yourself and like myself,

39:24

then you can use it as

39:26

a little trick, like make your ambition put

39:29

to start to

39:31

put that type of ritual in place

39:34

that then sends the nervous system into

39:36

relaxed state, enjoy the sleep, wake

39:38

up fresh the next day. I love that. But

39:40

it'll take practice, you know, it's not just going

39:43

to happen immediately. Yeah. Okay. All

39:45

right. So step number one, you got to

39:48

find out what is your constitution? That's

39:50

a, that's a great first step. Right. And

39:52

then step number two, you got to find

39:54

out like, what is the part of you

39:56

that because of the way

39:58

you are, it could get you. out of

40:00

balance. And then Ayurveda is

40:02

the study of bringing you back into

40:04

balance. Yeah. You know, I'll

40:06

have my team give you the links that

40:08

they can put in this podcast. We have

40:11

a free, it's a free training on Ayurveda

40:13

that I take them through kind of step by

40:15

step. And then we have

40:17

a whole course called the complete course

40:19

of Ayurveda. And what's unique about it

40:22

is it's designed for everyday

40:24

people. It's not designed to be for

40:26

a practitioner of Ayurveda. It's designed for

40:28

everyday people that want to use it

40:30

in their own lives and for their

40:32

families. I want this. Yeah, it's yours.

40:34

Yeah, for sure. Yeah. I

40:37

want to shift for a second

40:40

because you mentioned this. You

40:42

mentioned the exterior. Mm-hmm. And

40:45

I know for most

40:47

of the Western world, when

40:49

they see someone like

40:52

you alluded to that might look different

40:54

on the outside, you say, I don't

40:56

feel different. The

40:59

long beard, the thing on the hair that

41:01

the turban, for me,

41:03

because of my spiritual journey, I'm

41:05

more drawn to you. Because

41:07

I'm like, oh, that dude,

41:10

he's free, right? Talk to me about

41:12

that. Yeah, it's really interesting. It

41:15

just kind of happened. As a young

41:18

person, I already was, of course, a little

41:20

bit towards what people would say would be

41:22

more of like a hippie type person. Growing

41:24

up, I loved the Grateful Dead. I love

41:26

reggae music, and it's my world. And

41:29

I always have and still do. You can still find

41:31

me on Dead Tour. But

41:35

then when I got exposed to these

41:37

great traditions of, in my case, Northern

41:40

India, and I

41:42

had beautiful teachers, and

41:44

I just fell in love with

41:47

the yogic path. And

41:49

there was no point where I decided,

41:52

there wasn't one point where I was like,

41:54

okay, I certainly wasn't looking for religion. I

41:57

was kind of trying to get away from all of

41:59

that. And I still, I don't think

42:01

of myself at all in religious terms. Other

42:04

people think of me that way because you

42:06

know, you've got to put people

42:08

in that category, you know, but I don't think

42:10

of myself at all like that, you know, but

42:12

I love having the long beard and I, and

42:14

it's part of my path, you know, it's part

42:17

of what keeps me kind of feeling

42:19

me really. And,

42:22

and so, so yeah, I'm,

42:24

I'm a mystic at heart, you know,

42:26

I love that. And, and to me,

42:28

mystic mysticism is, is this

42:30

is practical, real, simple way

42:32

of life. It's, it's being

42:34

in the, it's being in

42:37

the wonder of life and the mystery

42:39

of it and being curious and not

42:41

being so convinced of things. It's not

42:43

being, I know everything. I certainly don't,

42:45

I don't know much at all. And,

42:48

and what I do know kind of keeps pointing

42:50

me to the fact that I don't know much

42:53

at all. And

42:55

I find that the more joyful way of living

42:57

because then you're curious about each other, you know,

42:59

and I'm not, and I try, try not to

43:01

be, and I think more and more, I'm not

43:03

so quick to put other people in boxes. Yeah.

43:06

And I can get down with anyone

43:08

really, you know, I'm from South Carolina.

43:10

I've, I've, you know, grew up in

43:12

the most conservative part of this country.

43:14

Now I live in Northern California in

43:16

a very progressive town and, and I

43:18

love it there, but I feel like

43:21

I can, I can connect with any

43:23

person. Yeah. Beautiful. Yeah. I

43:25

love that. I love that. All

43:27

right. So final thoughts, someone's

43:30

out there, they're, they're listening to

43:32

this and they, something

43:35

has resonated, whether it's a

43:38

conversation on yoga, where there's the conversation

43:40

on Ayurveda, you know,

43:42

if you were to speak to

43:44

someone right now who has never

43:46

tried anything, right? Where

43:48

do they begin? Well,

43:50

yeah, we, we

43:54

create our whole organization

43:56

almost around that in a certain way,

43:58

we created what. It's called

44:01

Life Force Academy. I

44:03

would always send them right into a yoga

44:07

experience first because it's physical.

44:11

You don't really have to know anything. You're

44:13

using your body. It's like an exercise

44:17

meditation system that

44:19

anyone can do right away. Like

44:22

I said, it kind of meets you where you're

44:24

at. We were talking earlier in a more of

44:26

a kind of psychological sense, but also in a

44:29

physical sense. It's not what

44:31

most people think of when they think

44:33

of yoga. Even the types

44:35

of exercises we do are more aerobic. There's

44:38

a lot of movement, people with high

44:40

energy, people who like athletics, people that

44:42

really don't find it easy

44:44

to just kind of sit and be

44:47

still. Kundalini yoga is

44:49

amazing. I love Kundalini yoga. Yeah.

44:52

I love it. I've been doing my

44:54

whole adult life and what we specialize

44:56

in. So you specialize in Kundalini? Yeah,

44:58

that's our main thing. You guys, my

45:00

thumbs up. I

45:03

think if I

45:05

do say so myself, our

45:08

experiences, and we specialize in the

45:10

online experience too. It's

45:12

not like a Zoom room. We have this

45:14

incredible team, so creative.

45:18

The music is originally ...

45:20

I work with

45:22

some of the greatest artists and

45:24

musicians. We

45:26

put on a Kundalini yoga

45:29

experience in Life Force Academy

45:31

that transmits and is

45:33

so inspiring and fun and welcoming.

45:35

Like you were saying earlier, it's like, I don't know what

45:38

I'm going to do. All you really need is can do

45:40

it from your home. Every

45:43

month, every week I'm teaching, but

45:46

every month we do free webcasts like

45:48

on the full moon. Anyone can just

45:50

jump into one of those, like

45:53

an hour-long experience as a first

45:55

thing, a first thing to try. Try

45:58

one of our videos. online

46:00

webcasts. Okay. And just sit

46:02

down, you know, create a

46:05

little space for yourself. You can do it on the

46:07

phone, but if you put it up on a screen

46:09

with some speakers, now it's an experience. It's

46:11

cinematic, it's beautiful, the music's off the

46:13

charts. It's really great. Awesome. And it's,

46:15

anyone can do it. I know it

46:18

transports you into a meditative space for

46:20

even people who don't even know what

46:22

that is. I'm in. Yeah. You're going

46:24

to see me there. I'm great. I

46:26

love that. And where do they go

46:28

again? LFA.Yoga. LFA.Yoga. That's the

46:31

URL. They just type that in their

46:33

browser. That's the same place for them

46:35

to go get their. Yeah. That's our

46:38

website for life force academy. And then

46:40

I can send you the links directly to the

46:42

Ayurveda quiz and that if you want them. I

46:44

love that. And then how do they find you on Instagram?

46:46

Or Jai Dave. My name is Jai

46:49

Dave. That's J-A-I-D-E-V. One zero eight is

46:51

my handle on Instagram. Jai Dave 108.

46:53

Thank you for being here, man. Thank

46:55

you. You ain't going anywhere though, because

46:57

46:59

47:02

it for this week's episode of the higher

47:04

47:06

is wonderful. Even

47:09

47:11

you'd be surprised. I was recently in

47:13

San Antonio and found

47:15

one that was delicious.

47:17

Absolutely delicious. And

47:20

what I love is that you know

47:22

that your care, your body, your well

47:24

being is the energy that is providing

47:26

the food. So we'll see you

47:28

next week on another episode of the higher self. Thanks
