So, So, So good. A wonderful history of the Isles from a well versed man in a shed. And if this pod doesn't do it for you as far as histories of England, I'm liable to send you off with a flea in your ear. Seriously, this fortnightly podcast is a joy to listen to.

Ah, what can I say about this podcast? I once listened to so many episodes over a weekend that the voice of the host, David, began to narrate my life and fill my dreams. This may sound like a terrifying occurrence but I really didn’t mine as this show is so good!Starting way back in history before England was England and working steadily through the years since then this podcast is most enjoyable. David has charm and great pacing which makes you want to keep listening, he covers so much detail but it’s enjoyable and fun. He doesn’t try anything fancy (although I do enjoy the accents and the occasional birdsong in the background) but instead lets the incredible narrative and interesting characters do the work. David just seems like an ordinary bloke with a passion for history who you’d happily sit down with for a chat and walk away feeling happy afterwards. Do not let that trick you into thinking the show isn’t well produced though, the audio is good and clear and there’s no stumbling or mumbling of words. It’s got class which is why David has been a speaker at the Intelligent Speech conference - don’t let his kindly charm hide the depth of the well researched The History of England podcast.

Superb research and makes me insanely jealous at his excellent delivery and presenting style. Wonderful podcast.

Comprehensive, funny, and well-narrated. One of the best history podcasts out there, easily. David does his research well and digs deep into the history, but makes it fun and funny as he goes along. He apologizes sometimes for going too slowly thanks to his tangents, but honestly, who wants him to finish faster?!
