Born in San Francisco in 1877, Alice's family suffered a series of tragedies, through which Alice continued to pursue higher education, in a time where that was not the norm for women. After her mother's passing, Alice was shoehorned into a caretaking position for many years. She became a ghost of herself. But one day, Alice went to Paris. And she fell in love with Gertrude Stein. Together, they had one of the most beautiful love stories. They were together for 40 years. Alice wrote cookbooks and did radio interviews, where she shared the first weed brownie recipe in 1960. Tune in to the end to hear her recipe in her own unique voice! Long after her passing, Alice can still be seen wandering the garden and halls of the Sorrento Hotel in Seattle, where her childhood home once stood. Female guests and staff have reported interacting with her, and the hotel even holds an annual honorary dinner in her honor. Tune in to see if Jake gets scared or moved by Alice's ghostly presence!
