The Chinese mainland has criticized Taiwan regional leader Lai Ching-te's so called "inauguration" speech on Monday. The State Council Taiwan Affairs Office's spokesperson Chen Binhua said the new leader of Taiwan has sent a "dangerous signal" of seeking "Taiwan independence", which is incompatible with peace across the Taiwan Strait.
