Dear Diary,

Welcome to "The Indigo Diaries." Join host Natasha Hickling in the third and long-lasting series: "The World Through an Our Eyes.."

This week Natasha is back with a ‘Start the Conversation’ where she will be joined by fellow ADHD Coach for Girls and Women Pippa Simou.

Pippa’s professional background is in secondary education;  where she has over 20 years of experience, holding pastoral and academic positions in a variety of settings. In 2016, to achieve further flexibility to support in her own neurodiverse children, she joined local charity as a coach and trainer, working to support parents and professionals who live or work with children who have ADHD / ASD.

In 2017 Pippa herself was diagnosed with ADHD, which highlighted the lack of understanding and services for women with the condition. From there, she started ‘The ADD-vantage; in 2020, offering support services specifically to women and girls with ADHD symptoms to help them understand and grow into their symptoms. She coaches women with ADHD one-to-one, mentors girls in local schools and trains professionals who are working with young people who have ADHD. She was recently awarded an MSc in Psychology to support her work further.

She has two children, now teenagers. She lives with them and her husband, as well as their Cockapoo, Oscar. She loves baking, theatre, cinema, socialising, eating out, rambling, traveling and exploring new places.

In this episode, we will discuss the challenges girls and women face with ADHD and how it impacts them, specifically at different ages. We will touch upon what to look for and how to take steps to seek out a diagnosis.

Come, Learn, listen, and experience the world through not her eyes, our eyes!
