Jason and Jen go live with Chris Tarta: Using personal development and mindset to grow your business

Chris Tarta has been an entrepreneur his entire life. Born and raised in Northern NJ, 20 minutes outside of Manhattan, he attended Culinary school and became a chef at 20.

At 22 he purchased his first restaurant and owned that for over 16 years. He built and opened his second restaurant at 33, and owned that for 5 years, simultaneously having both for those 5 years.

When his wife gave birth to his 3rd daughter he quickly realized that being at those restaurants 350 days a year for 12-14 hours a day was no longer an option he was passionate about.

Throughout those early years of business, he had been investing in Real Estate and growing a network in the industry.  He felt very comfortable there so he became licensed as an agent and started to build out this business.

He sold both restaurants and went full-time with Real Estate.  The first year was grueling,  burning through savings, searching for business.  It became frustrating and he doubted the move that he had made, then he decided to simply put his blinders on, trust the process, and push.

He was surrounded by agents at his first brokerage, which was not in his best interest to launch his career with, so he moved. He got on a team that taught him a lot about prospecting, selling, mindset, and how to approach it, all while staying committed to personal development.

He says personal development is key to his approach to this business.  So, his second year was a $9 m year, the third year was a $19.6m production year, and he says will surpass that this year.

He has been building his own brand out for the last few months, basically, since COVID struck and he is looking forward to what the future brings for him, his business, and his wife and 3 awesome daughters.
