I guess? Ah, in my dentist's office. More

0:09

than once, actually. Do I have to say?

0:11

Yes, you do. In the car, before

0:13

my kids' PTA meeting. Really? Yes! Excuse

0:15

me, what's the weirdest place you've gotten

0:18

0:41

Adam. On to the right. Thanks a lot for stopping by. Glad

0:43

Evan's been back on. He is, of course, the original fire

0:45

brand. It's Representative Matt Gaetz, District 1 Republican, great state

0:47

of Florida. Matt, how are you? Good to see you.

0:49

It's good to see you, Joe. Yeah,

0:52

I just mentioned this a second ago. I'm going to kiss

0:54

up a little bit. When you do a space or live

0:56

video over on X, you suck all the air out of

0:58

the room and like 30, 40,000

1:00

people show up. It's got to feel pretty good that people

1:02

are that engaged. We are living

1:04

in a time where information is more

1:06

fragmented in its distribution than any other

1:08

point in human history. And we were

1:11

starting to see some of those totalitarian

1:13

forces of government trying to influence how

1:15

big tech allows the rest of us

1:17

to see the world. And I

1:20

guess, you know, formerly Twitter now X, it

1:22

has become a real bastion for people

1:24

to share ideas of all different political

1:26

stripes. And I enjoy the spaces feature

1:28

because it's where regular folks could ask

1:31

a congressman a question or have

1:33

someone with a platform like yours

1:36

amplify their ideas or

1:38

what they're working on. And I think it's

1:40

a way to democratize information

1:42

in a way that's pretty exciting about

1:44

what we can do together. Matt,

1:47

is there a future that looks safe for a

1:49

place like X? And here's why I ask. There

1:51

are countries now suing Elon Musk. Someone

1:53

to arrest him for allowing free speech

1:55

on his platform. He's not backing down,

1:57

but it seems as though the The

2:00

groups of people that are for fascism

2:02

and shutting down information and controlling information

2:04

are joining forces to take people like

2:06

you, like me, and maybe on a

2:08

broader scale on the platform Elon Musk

2:11

down. What do you think the future

2:13

looks like? Well, I don't think that

2:15

fight ever ends. It's something we have

2:17

to continuously joust about. Matter of fact,

2:19

just this week in the weaponization subcommittee,

2:21

we had two Biden administration officials from

2:24

the White House having to explain their

2:26

emails to YouTube and Amazon and Facebook

2:28

about what side effects of

2:30

COVID would be allowed to be advertised and not

2:32

whether or not that was even

2:34

true. And I mean the COVID vaccine in

2:36

these particular discussions. So they were so worried

2:39

about vaccine hesitancy. They didn't even want true

2:41

information to be accessible to the public. And

2:43

when we asked how that comported with their

2:45

thoughts on the First Amendment, their answer was,

2:47

well, this is just how it works now.

2:50

It used to be the case that White

2:52

House staffers would try to get the New

2:54

York Times or the Washington Post to shape

2:56

a story a particular way. And in year

2:58

2024, all of America should just be okay

3:01

with the Biden White House saying we

3:03

go to social media companies and we'll

3:05

always ask them to amplify certain information

3:07

or decrease visibility to other types

3:09

of information based on how we want folks

3:11

to see things. They don't think that has

3:13

any tension with the First Amendment. Well, of

3:16

course, we know that a state action to

3:18

constrain speech and a judge should stop it

3:20

right away. And frankly, we should defund it.

3:22

District one Republican great state of Florida. It's

3:24

Matt Gaetz. So does Missouri v. Biden solve

3:26

that? We get a good result of the

3:29

Supreme Court on Missouri v. Biden. Does all of

3:31

that end or does the Weaponization Committee have a role

3:33

here? Oh, no, trust me.

3:35

There's plenty of us for plenty

3:37

of ground for us to continue

3:39

to plow. But you got to

3:41

give Senator Eric Schmidt a lot

3:43

of credit. When he was attorney

3:45

general, he started taking on the

3:47

intersection between the totalitarian government and

3:49

the little fascist in Silicon Valley

3:51

and tech and the depositions exposed

3:53

meetings that were regularly occurring between

3:55

Department of Homeland Security, FBI, NSA,

3:57

and like Google. and Facebook and

3:59

Twitter because it's not enough, I

4:01

guess, for some of these three

4:04

letter agencies to spy on you.

4:06

They also wanna shape how

4:08

you behave by controlling what you see in the

4:10

digital world. And so when you and I get

4:12

on X spaces and talk about a report that

4:14

we've seen or a voice that we've heard, it's

4:16

really a way to break through all of that.

4:19

And I invite everybody to follow me at Matt

4:21

Gaetz. Usually it's in the evenings when votes are

4:23

done that I've got a chance to fire. I

4:25

always fired up when I make a dinner for

4:27

my wife so I can do a little cooking

4:29

and get a sense of sentiment out there in

4:32

the world. And we love when Ginger jumps on

4:34

there as well. It's Representative Matt Gaetz. His home

4:36

city is Pensacola, where we're heard every single night

4:38

on a great radio station there. So Matt, as

4:40

I'm watching the weaponization committee and as I'm enjoying

4:42

what you guys are doing there and I'm enjoying

4:45

what you're exposing, what is the end game? Are

4:47

there ramifications for these bad actors or bad actions

4:50

that you're uncovering? Because it seems that though you've uncovered

4:52

an awful lot but we haven't seen a whole lot

4:54

of action go along with it. What happens next? It's

4:57

unfortunate that we didn't use the power

4:59

of the purse with these single subject

5:01

spending bills with open amendments that would

5:03

have allowed us to isolate some of

5:05

the worst actors and the worst programs

5:07

and the worst authorities and get rid

5:09

of them. When you govern by omnibus

5:11

bill and continuing resolution, you evade that

5:14

type of real kind of structural attack

5:16

that has to be sustained against a

5:18

lot of these entities. Now, humiliation works

5:20

at times and maybe people will be

5:22

deterred by that. But I actually think

5:24

in some of these cases there are

5:26

criminal referrals that may be

5:28

necessary. And even though

5:30

we do not have a Department of Justice

5:33

that we think wouldn't put their thumb on

5:35

the scale for the Bidens or the Biden

5:37

administration, I think if we make those referrals

5:39

now and if President Trump has an attorney

5:42

general who's not trying to engage in political

5:44

retribution but would simply follow the facts in

5:46

the law where they lead, I

5:48

think you could be within the statute of

5:50

limitations for a lot of crimes, including the

5:53

lying to Congress and

5:55

others that we would want to see action Taken on.:

5:57

It is US Representative Matt Gaetz, District 1

5:59

Republican. The great state of Florida maps that isn't You

6:01

guys have had the the majority back. I've been if

6:04

there were if they're all mack dates as we've got

6:06

a lot dance. The fact is that are a lot

6:08

of people every week. Need a lot of people die?

6:10

Much of a backbone of the republican side is there

6:12

of of times you tell my audience and me when

6:14

this. House. Of Representatives run by Republicans

6:17

as used to leverage properly or much as

6:19

you guys ever had. None of you on

6:21

to. This isn't a commentary on you by

6:23

whether it's Mccarthy or or Johnson. I can

6:25

see where the power the first been used.

6:28

Johnson is let us down. Mccarthy let us

6:30

down. Paul Ryan let us down. John Boehner

6:32

let us down. I will not exactly sending

6:34

our best to the speaker's chair and ass

6:36

on all of us and frankly it's the

6:39

truth and it's article. Join this. The truth

6:41

is we can't save the country. With the

6:43

current team we have, we have to grow.

6:45

The majority snatches with anybody with an R

6:47

behind their names. but with people who are

6:50

willing to fight and people want to change

6:52

this town's I think we ought to have

6:54

a band members of Congress becoming lobbyists. I

6:56

don't have that lobbies to be donating to

6:58

political campaigns. it's functionally broad money. and of

7:00

course, we should have a ban on members

7:03

of Congress trading stocks To the same reason

7:05

yell at the umpire, bet on the baseball

7:07

games as as if we had a working

7:09

polish around. Some of those things started to

7:11

get to the interests of the American people

7:13

to cut him play since secure. The border

7:16

have peace and not war throughout the

7:18

world really rise to the top, but

7:20

instead you've got special interests who really

7:22

dictate the agenda. Oftentimes no matter which

7:24

political parties sense to, we'll the dabbles.

7:27

both are working to the same corrupt

7:29

and cities in big pharma, big tax,

7:31

big business and even some of the

7:33

foreign interests abroad or friend mtg. Sort

7:35

of of a kidding Johnson is that

7:37

makes sense for know. it

7:40

is not i know that marjorie comes

7:42

at this with great sincerity and i

7:44

share her substantive frustrations with where we

7:47

are right now but i knew when

7:49

i they cheated mccarthy's that doing this

7:51

during an election year would be incredibly

7:53

perilous right now with a two person

7:55

majority it's my concern is that we

7:57

death three or four members willing to

8:00

take a bribe to leave early in

8:02

order to give power to Hakeem Jeffries

8:04

and the Democrats. So Marjorie's making the

8:07

right argument. I fear it is the

8:09

wrong instrument to achieve the goals she

8:11

wants, but gosh, I hope it's Marjorie

8:14

Taylor Greene at the table helping

8:16

to make some of the strategy choices for

8:19

how we move the country forward when we get

8:21

Donald Trump back in the White House because

8:23

she is a brilliant intellect. She's a planner.

8:25

I respect her a lot, but I can't

8:28

stand with this move that not

8:30

as a consequence of hers, but as

8:32

a consequence of others could result in

8:34

Jeffries or Josh Gottheimer, some other Democrat

8:37

becoming speaker because of bribe money. Gates.house.gov

8:40

slash firebrand. Go and follow everything he does

8:42

on social media at Matt Gates. It is

8:44

a US Representative Matt Gates. Did you ever

8:46

have an opportunity to talk to Mike Gallagher

8:48

and find out what the hell happened to

8:50

this guy? He literally waited till the day

8:52

after there could be a special election in

8:54

Wisconsin. And now he's left his entire district

8:57

with that representation until next January. Because

8:59

he's saying there were death threats and so on and

9:01

so forth. And God bless him. If he's a family

9:03

man, he can do whatever he wants. But why not

9:05

leave a few days earlier and allow for representation for

9:07

his district in Wisconsin? I

9:09

don't believe that death threats are a

9:12

permission structure to leave your post. I

9:14

got a death threat from somebody saying that they

9:16

were gonna hack me up with a machete just

9:19

last week and didn't miss any

9:21

votes. I mean, this is just sort of the

9:23

normal nature of it. You have to continue with

9:25

the mission. I'm disappointed that Mike Gallagher didn't continue

9:27

with the mission. I think that when he voted

9:29

against my Orcus, his constituents

9:32

reacted very, I'm sorry, voted against

9:35

impeaching my Orcus. His constituents were

9:37

very frustrated with that. I think a lot of people around

9:39

the country were frustrated with it. I was

9:41

frustrated with it. And his spasm reaction to

9:43

that frustration seems to have been departing the

9:45

Congress. I sure wish he hadn't done that.

9:47

And the timing is real suspicious, isn't it,

9:50

Joe? It's just real unfortunate

9:52

that we didn't get the opportunity to fill that

9:54

seat with another. Republican. It is Representative Matt Gaetz.

9:56

Let's talk about this Prosecutor for President Trump. I

9:58

Was not aware of this. For I did,

10:00

it was gonna have you on today Split The

10:02

prosecutor was asked a very specific question instead of

10:05

telling the truth pleading the Fifth amendment. So me

10:07

on this. Guy took the

10:09

deposition of my a More pomeranz. this

10:11

is the official who was really dispatched

10:13

to the Manhattan Da's Attorney's office in

10:15

order to get Trump is usually it's

10:18

we follow the facts and the law.

10:20

We don't identify a person that we

10:22

want to be able to charged with

10:24

crimes and then construct some thesis around

10:26

that stated objectives threatened. So far as

10:28

shows up there are we started as

10:30

concerned that by the nature of his

10:32

arrival and so the admissions he made

10:35

at the in a book that he

10:37

wrote afterwards about so demanding. Their be

10:39

charges now than brag disagreed and and he

10:41

resigned in protest ceo that that there could

10:43

have been some real funny business or to

10:46

try to set up. the evidence here was

10:48

illegal series to justify prosecution that wouldn't ever

10:50

be brought against any other american any circumstances.

10:52

So I asked him if he broke the

10:55

law as he broke the canon of legal

10:57

ethics to be violate President Trump's rights and

10:59

instead of saying no. He

11:01

took the sets and as President Trump

11:04

is facing the same of the trial

11:06

I stopped That was important for me

11:08

since or to be out there for

11:10

people to contextualize. One. A Set up.

11:12

This was. Absolutely was a

11:14

set up. A see. Here's the problem here

11:16

in Texas. I know it would have a

11:18

D H. Is he doing the wrong seen

11:20

as go to the legislature to enforce my

11:22

be different in Arizona. My be difference What

11:25

is the mechanism in New York? Alvin Brags

11:27

is upgrading all these. Other

11:29

violations basically misdemeanors up to felonies. The

11:31

Statue of Limitations was over is attempting

11:33

to federal election law that's the Uffizi

11:35

said was in a breach of law

11:37

so I have you scared to them

11:39

off his case does the Us Congress

11:41

you are You committees have a duty

11:44

to stop him or does hopeful have

11:46

been something or the legislature new York

11:48

have to do something to stop this

11:50

obvious which aren't election interference. congress

11:53

has no ability to start a

11:55

federal or i'm sorry i a

11:57

state level prosecution or the separation

11:59

of powers Look, we have articles

12:02

of, we have Article I powers,

12:04

okay? These state courts that

12:06

essentially emerge out of how we think

12:08

about Article III, that is not our

12:11

bailiwick. Now, we can investigate whether it's

12:13

misuse of federal funds. I

12:15

asked Paul Morance whether or not he

12:17

observed any of the misuse of federal

12:19

funds. It won't surprise you his answer

12:21

was that he asserted his Fifth Amendment

12:23

right against self-incrimination. And so, I think

12:25

there's still work to do there to

12:28

ascertain the extent to which U.S. taxpayers

12:30

have been subsidizing this election interference

12:32

that Alvin Bragg was engaged in.

12:35

Matt, I believe this, and I wonder if you agree

12:37

with me that they really made a mistake by making

12:39

Trump stay in New York. He's going to Harlem. He's

12:41

going to have a big rally in Madison Square Garden.

12:44

I mean, you've got people on the street, blue-collar people

12:46

saying, f*** Joe Biden, and we want Donald Trump. Did

12:48

they make a mistake by keeping him there? I

12:51

spoke to President Trump this morning on his way

12:53

to court, and he was insisting the fact that

12:55

they continued to hold these trials in New York

12:58

was going to put New York in play. He

13:00

was telling me he's going back to win the

13:03

Yankee State, and I don't know about that. New

13:05

York's a pretty high hill to climb, but

13:08

President Trump was optimistic that New York,

13:10

as a platform, really showcased to a lot

13:12

of people that might not have been

13:14

paying attention previously what a threat to democracy

13:16

Joe Biden is if allowed to continue

13:18

in the White House. If

13:21

Trump already gets 35 or 40 percent of the

13:23

city, that's all he needs. He wins the state. The

13:25

state's red, except for New York City and those big

13:27

urban areas. I think he might be

13:29

able to do it. I think Curtis Leewa for

13:31

the mayor's race got 29 percent, something like that.

13:33

Lee Zeldin didn't do it horribly. Matt, it might

13:36

be in play. Thanks. I'm going to have

13:38

to defer to you on New York politics.

13:40

The only thing I know about New York

13:42

politics is when all the New Yorkers move

13:44

to my beloved Florida because they don't want

13:46

illegal immigrants overrunning the parks, because they don't

13:48

want criminals released on cashless bail. Because

13:51

they don't want taxes that take away everything

13:53

that they work to earn. We

13:55

just hope that they remember why they're

13:57

coming to Florida and they leave their

13:59

voter registration. administration card north of the Mason-Dixon

14:01

line. That is all I know about New York

14:03

politics. District one Republican, great state of Florida. It

14:05

is the firebrand Matt Gates. He's got his book

14:07

called Firebrand as well. Let's talk about, I watched

14:10

this video last night that our friend James O'Keefe

14:12

went out and got. An undercover

14:14

journalist goes and signs up for Bumble, I

14:16

guess this is a dating app, and

14:18

connects with some guy who she didn't even know. I'm watching

14:20

the video as you did, didn't even know this guy was

14:22

going to claim to be in the CIA. A

14:25

couple of things, and I don't want to give the entire

14:27

thing away, it's 27 minutes. If you can go watch it

14:29

on OMG over on X. As

14:31

I'm watching it, I'm thinking to myself, my

14:33

God, he's giving up this information just to

14:36

try to get, I guess, some action with this woman. Who

14:39

else is he telling it? Matt, do we know

14:42

that he was in the CIA? Does the Weaponization Committee have

14:44

any oversight on this? What are you going to do about

14:46

it if you do? I've

14:48

called for an investigation, and that would

14:50

start with a transcribed interview of this

14:53

particular individual. Whenever you get one piece

14:55

of evidence, it's always important as an

14:57

investigator to corroborate it with documents, with

15:00

other people, with any sort

15:02

of emails or calendar entries that would

15:04

signify that this particular individual had access

15:06

to information that was ultimately held from

15:08

President Trump. It looks really bad, and

15:11

you know what, Pags? The fact that

15:13

the CIA responded to James O'Keefe, like

15:16

within an hour of this going

15:18

into the public domain, seems

15:20

to signify a level of

15:22

significance, of importance regarding

15:25

this individual, whereas if they were just the

15:27

janitor who went through and were trying to

15:29

tell a tall tale to impress a date,

15:31

you wouldn't necessarily have that type of rapid

15:33

response from the agency. Well, it appears that

15:36

Badge, and Cash Patel backs this up, that

15:38

Badge is only given to people who are

15:40

actively working with the CIA. Does that seem

15:42

to be true? I

15:44

didn't get a really clear look at the Badge,

15:47

and I probably wouldn't comment on that, but it

15:49

seemed as though the individual who

15:51

was talking about keeping information away

15:54

from President Trump was able to

15:56

quite freely and loquaciously talk about

15:58

all the different that

16:01

he had worked with and the level of

16:03

access and the level of knowledge regarding even

16:05

the highest levels of the CIA. I think

16:07

the thing I was most troubled by in

16:10

the shocking video that James

16:13

O'Keefe released was when this person

16:15

who supposedly worked at the CIA

16:17

was talking about even the director

16:19

of the CIA being involved in

16:21

keeping information away from Trump. That

16:23

would be treason. Well it would

16:25

be treason and I think I

16:27

know the correspondence you're talking about the CIA said none

16:29

of that's true. They didn't deny that he's

16:32

who he said he was. They didn't deny that he was

16:34

someone who at least worked with them but none of what

16:36

he said is true. It was all fabrication. Nobody kept anything

16:38

from anybody. Is that enough or does the CIA director now

16:40

get to sit in front of you? Yeah,

16:43

I think that this type of

16:45

a searing admission requires at least

16:47

an effort to determine whether or

16:49

not there's corroboration. The

16:51

agency has issued a denial. They now own

16:53

that denial and so let's see what they

16:55

can do to provide a basis for it.

16:58

I think we've got to know a lot

17:00

more about this individual on the O'Keefe video

17:02

before jumping to conclusions but this has to

17:04

spark a great deal of interest and that's

17:06

why I've called for an investigation. Gates.house.gov slash

17:09

firebrand. Get his book called Firebrand. Go follow

17:11

him everywhere. Either Matt Gates or Rep Matt

17:13

Gates everywhere. When he lights up

17:15

either rumble or on X and he's going to

17:17

show the video or do an X space, do

17:19

not miss it. It is must see, must hear.

17:21

Matt, thanks a million for making time today. I

17:23

appreciate you. Take care my friend.
