Welcome to the Kelly Roadshow, the place
0:07
for no off easy to implement
0:09
twenty minute or less business
0:12
and leadership lessons to help you
0:14
build a sustainable business that skills,
0:17
lead with integrity and create a
0:19
lasting legacy. I'm Kelly
0:22
Roach, former NFL cheerleader and Fortune
0:24
five hundred executive turned fit
0:26
your entrepreneur. Let's get
0:28
started. Alright. Alright.
0:30
Super excited to be back here
0:32
once again with my friend and special
0:34
guests Kresumi and I'm
0:36
super pumped because she has a new
0:38
book coming out that we're gonna talk a little bit
0:41
about today. But just before
0:43
we dive in, Kresa, I would love
0:45
take us back a minute just for those
0:47
that are getting to you for the first time
0:49
and let's share a little bit of your story
0:51
and how it led you to the business that you're running
0:53
today. And then we'll talk a little bit about
0:55
the book. Awesome. Thanks for having
0:57
me, Kelly. You know, I'm a big fan. You look gorgeous. As
1:00
always, Yeah.
1:02
So I am currently
1:04
a coach. I teach real students and lenders
1:06
how to utilize social media and video
1:08
to dominate their markets. And we
1:10
are also launching a business called the
1:12
million dollar month method. We
1:16
I specialize in really
1:18
just teaching people how to use their mindset
1:20
to get the the the kind
1:22
of like that they want. And
1:24
I know, you know, a little bit about my story. I haven't
1:26
lived at home since I was thirteen. And and
1:30
in foster homes and group homes and juvenile
1:32
hall and all that great stuff and we
1:36
have been able to just really create a great life for
1:38
myself just based upon really, really focusing
1:40
on personal development and really, really
1:42
focusing on how I train my brain to
1:44
work for me and not against me. Yes.
1:48
Yes. Oh my gosh. I mean, you've you've done
1:50
just incredible work. Really
1:52
transforming your space because when
1:55
we look at the real estate mark you know,
1:57
a lot of realtors, like, that that's the
1:59
thing. They've been building their business
2:01
based on referrals for so many years, and then
2:03
here comes the Internet, and they're still like, wow.
2:05
Like, what do I do with this thing? Right?
2:08
And so you have really led the charge
2:10
in helping your market to understand
2:12
how to leverage this amazing tool and
2:14
and obviously, you've done it well for yourself and now
2:17
you're helping so many other people to do it. So
2:19
let's talk about the book.
2:22
And, you know, as you already mentioned with
2:24
with your own story. Like, you know,
2:26
so much of the magic
2:28
behind high levels of success
2:30
always comes back to mindset and beliefs
2:32
and all those foundational things.
2:34
So I'm really excited to hear more about
2:37
what the book is is teaching
2:40
and sharing and and what the why
2:42
behind the book is. Yeah.
2:44
Okay. So we just actually, it's it's called
2:46
a stop stamp and switch. Train
2:48
your range when leash or limitless like, and
2:50
we just hit number one. Best seller on
2:52
Amazon yesterday, so we're
2:54
we're about that. Out
2:56
of all the books I've written, this is my my most passionate
2:59
one. I feel like people always want that this,
3:01
you know, that you hear about, make big
3:03
figures in whatever months or, you know,
3:05
join this program, do this and that, and it's like,
3:08
it's great and a lot often times that
3:10
can happen, but so many people fail
3:12
at that even with an exact blueprint of
3:14
what is often on what to do. And
3:16
so one thing that I've learned in coaching
3:18
thousands of people is just that it's it's and
3:20
I and I hear it so often. We're we've made
3:22
millionaires through our coaching program and people
3:24
will be like, like, what what was your favorite
3:27
part? And they were like, it's the mindset. And
3:29
I'm just like, I hear it over and over and over
3:31
again. And it really is because
3:33
you know, it seemed so cliche when I was writing
3:36
the book, I was trying to find a different word
3:38
than mindset because I felt like mindset is
3:40
just kind of overplayed. And I mean,
3:42
I was trying to sit in
3:44
him with a heck out of mindset, and there is
3:46
just no other word to
3:48
utilize other than it really
3:50
is what you think about. Right? And
3:52
I believe that and actually, the
3:54
whole book is based upon scientific research
3:57
and research studies. It's it's, you
3:59
know, nothing, as you know, is is original
4:01
anymore. But the whole book
4:03
is just based on facts and
4:05
how our rain works. And so you literally can
4:07
train your brain to work for you and against
4:09
you. And so the book just gives
4:11
so many examples on how
4:13
to really train your brain and
4:16
your thought process no matter where you
4:18
came from to really achieve
4:20
the life that you want. And, you know,
4:22
mindset is so much more important than skill set. You can
4:24
teach somebody how to build or how to do a
4:26
million dollar a month business, but it
4:28
doesn't matter what you give them or what new
4:30
front. If they don't have their mind.
4:33
Right? It's it's like all the tools
4:35
in the world will not work. It's
4:37
so interesting, Krista, because
4:39
you and I have had this similar journey
4:41
right because I've been teaching people business growth
4:43
strategy for ten years. And
4:45
just last year was the first time I developed
4:47
a program that was really about beliefs
4:50
and mindset and understanding your
4:52
operating system and your subconscious because
4:54
exactly what you're saying. Literally,
4:56
you can give someone step by step
4:59
play by play the blueprint
5:01
of the neat figure business. If
5:04
the mental if if
5:06
the mental alignment is not
5:08
there, there. If the belief system
5:10
isn't there, it's not gonna do
5:12
any. So I I I'm
5:14
not surprised that we both kind of like
5:16
He came back to that same that
5:18
same Marina. So let's talk a little bit and
5:20
the brain is so fascinating. And
5:22
it's so interesting because we're
5:24
never taught how to get it to work for
5:26
us. Right? And that's what you're
5:28
doing in the book is you're really helping us to
5:30
better under understand the
5:32
best tool that we have for success, which
5:34
is training our brain to support us,
5:36
but we never we never learned how to do
5:38
it. So Can you share a little bit, Krista,
5:40
about, like, maybe some of the lessons
5:43
or some of the strategies that you teach in the
5:45
book? And just kinda, like,
5:47
walk us through the power of of what
5:49
what you're sharing here. Yeah. So
5:51
the so I'll tell you first to stop, snap, and
5:53
switch strategy. So we have
5:55
between forty thousand and seventy thousand
5:57
thoughts a day. I know that sounds insane, but
5:59
that's how many thoughts go through our brains.
6:01
Anything from my hair is messy too,
6:03
you know, what am I gonna have for breakfast or I'm tired.
6:05
Right? But unfortunately, a
6:07
lot of these thoughts that we never made and
6:09
that is a lot to do with the environment
6:11
and society that we're, you know, that we're in.
6:14
Negative polysty cells, negative attention
6:16
cells, and so what constantly is
6:18
just flooded with these negative thoughts.
6:20
And a lot of these thoughts are thoughts
6:22
that we We get
6:24
from from other people. They get
6:26
from mistakes that we've made. Trials
6:29
and errors, things we tried and didn't complete.
6:31
Things that we you know,
6:33
we we just we don't accomplish. Right? So then we
6:35
start to develop this belief system about ourselves.
6:37
And once we start talking to ourselves and
6:39
we say things like, you know, oh,
6:41
I'm not good enough or I'm I'm too young
6:43
to do that or I'm too old to do that or,
6:45
you know, I talked too fast
6:47
or I'm not smart enough or I don't have enough
6:49
energy and I'm I'm all these things
6:51
research shows that what you say, like
6:53
your thoughts, your philosophies, your beliefs,
6:56
they turn into your habits, rituals, and
6:58
routines, and that creates your
7:00
life, your success, your
7:02
results, and your growth. Right? But it all starts
7:04
from your thoughts. The soft tip and pitch
7:06
strategies basically you're stopping and
7:08
recognizing when you have a negative thought.
7:10
And you're like, oh, I just said something really bad to
7:12
myself. Right? Like, then it could be any of those things
7:14
I just said. And how
7:16
the brain works is, what you say do it? It goes,
7:18
yes. Do more of that. And you say your tire
7:20
goes, oh, your tire is great. Or, oh, you
7:22
can't. You know, you're not good at that one. Great.
7:24
No. Challenge you to do better because you're saying
7:26
you're not. Good at it. We're gonna keep you in a little
7:28
comfort zone. When you when you
7:30
say negative things or thinking negative things, you wanna stop
7:32
and recognize it. You snap the bracelet because
7:34
then it gets your body in conjunction with your
7:36
your mind, and then you switch the bracelet to the
7:38
other side and you restate that negative
7:40
statement. So it might be something
7:42
like, I'm too old, turns into,
7:45
hey, my age is gonna give me more wisdom
7:47
and more patience, right, than that in somebody
7:49
who's a more experience. Yeah.
7:51
And so it's just a matter of of recognizing
7:54
it. And then stopping snapping
7:56
and switching. You can use it for we do
7:58
stop, snap, and pose. Stop,
8:00
snap, and breathe. Stop,
8:02
snap, and prepared. There's like about, you
8:04
know, ten to twelve different tactics that
8:06
we teach in the in the book that again are
8:08
all based upon like, just treating
8:10
your body, treating your brain to, like, work in
8:12
conjunction with you. And it's kinda
8:14
cool, like, the positive effects that it has because when
8:16
you start doing it, then all of a sudden people are like,
8:18
What's going on with you? You know, and then and then it starts
8:20
kind of being like this trifecta effect
8:22
in a in a good way, you know? Yes.
8:25
Absolutely. Oh my gosh. And it's
8:27
so it's so true and I see
8:29
that all the time that, you know,
8:31
ultimately, it's our thoughts that dictate our
8:34
entire lives. Right? Mhmm. And
8:36
The problem is is that
8:38
most people are running these
8:40
cycles of thoughts, and and I love the
8:42
strategy of of stopping
8:44
because they they
8:46
aren't catching it and and it's
8:48
been running on repeat for so
8:50
long that your brain is
8:52
just leading you through this, like, guided
8:54
meditation of doing more and more and
8:56
more of these things that are actually hurting you
8:58
instead of helping you. So I think
9:00
raising the awareness is definitely the first
9:02
step. And I love that you're giving a
9:04
specific strategy for people
9:06
to follow to, like, catch
9:08
themselves when they're doing that, and then have
9:10
a way to to manage that,
9:12
to to reset and refocus into
9:14
something positive. Yeah.
9:17
Yeah. It's it's it's it's weird. I mean, like, I've
9:19
been so obsessed over this book for the past
9:21
year, and I just been, like, research
9:23
science, all those evidence, but it's written in
9:25
a way that's fun and easy to to read. But there's
9:27
a lot of stories in it, you know. Yeah.
9:30
But you said it, like, we we
9:32
play these stories over and over again in
9:34
our head, and then we just start to, like,
9:36
live out this belief system. And I what
9:38
I wanna remind everybody is, like, we
9:40
are creators of our own destiny.
9:42
Yeah. And we're the only one
9:44
responsible for critical life that we deserve, and
9:46
we all deserve that life. And so many
9:48
people let their their circumstance
9:50
dictate their finance. And I
9:52
tell people create it, create your finance,
9:54
create your wealth, create you can create
9:56
anything that you want. And I mean, the break
9:58
is not the difference between and there's
10:00
there's, like, so many cool studies that that
10:02
they've done with people that are visualizing
10:04
something. And, like, for example,
10:06
they took this these people that are playing basketball.
10:08
And they had one group of people shoot
10:10
the basketball for, like, twenty minutes
10:12
a day for two weeks. And then I had another
10:14
group do nothing. And they had another group
10:16
visualize for twenty minutes for two weeks. Mhmm. And
10:18
the group that did nothing had zero
10:20
improvement. The group
10:22
that actually shot. I
10:24
think they did a twenty four percent
10:26
increase. And the group that visualized had a
10:28
twenty three percent increase. And they mind you, they never
10:30
shot a bass and they just visualize it in their
10:32
mind. Yeah. And there's so many cases
10:34
like that. And so the brain's
10:36
neurons, it's it has something called neuroplasticity.
10:39
And it doesn't know the difference between when you're actually
10:41
visualizing something and when you're doing
10:43
it. So when you think about things,
10:45
when you say things like, you're
10:47
literally rewiring and training your
10:49
reign for the good or for
10:51
the baddie. Sadly to say
10:53
most of us we're like our own worst
10:55
enemies. Right? We beat ourselves up.
10:57
We we we never do enough. It's we, you know,
10:59
we didn't accomplish enough that day. We didn't get
11:01
enough done he has,
11:03
mothers. Like, we're horrible because we're
11:05
working and we're not good enough from others. Then we're not
11:07
good enough, you know, business people. And
11:09
then we're not good wides, we just can't
11:11
do anything. Right? Right? So you're just constantly
11:13
like, we wouldn't have any friends if we talk
11:15
to to anyone else or treat anyone else in
11:17
often cases the way that we treat ourselves.
11:19
And so We're just creating this this
11:23
habit of lack and, you
11:25
know, it's just it's just so sad. So
11:27
I'm just I'm just so passionate about really
11:29
helping people just master their
11:31
day and, you know, create what it is
11:33
going on. Yeah. Yeah. Absolutely.
11:35
Let's talk about maybe like one or
11:37
two of the other brain
11:39
training, kinda exercises that you teach,
11:41
or even if you wanna share one of the stories in
11:43
the book. Do you wanna share one of the stories in
11:45
the book? Yes. Yes. Okay. So
11:47
there's this there's this one story about when he need the
11:49
tiger. And when he need the tiger, he
11:51
was in this cage for many many years, and it was
11:53
just this long, you know, rectangular cage.
11:56
And so one day, this zoo
11:58
saved Rohini, and they
12:00
built this beautiful, gorgeous playground
12:02
for Rohini, the Tiger to to stay
12:05
in. But Mohini, the tire literally
12:07
got into the zoo, and
12:09
he he paced back and forth
12:11
in this one little area the entire
12:13
time until he died. Because he was so
12:15
used to pacing -- Yeah. -- and his
12:17
his body got you know, his brain
12:19
got used to. This is all I have. I'm in this
12:21
little space. And it's just like like so
12:23
many of us are like, well, media, we're we're
12:25
stuck in this cage. And and
12:27
we let, you know, past
12:29
experiences dictate our
12:31
life. And so, I don't know, I guess,
12:33
like, you know, I mean, I'm a good
12:35
example. I was stubborn. You know, I'm just the girl that hasn't
12:37
lived at home since I was thirteen. I wet the bed and five
12:39
was ten because of the that's
12:41
physical abuse. I couldn't read until I was
12:43
in the fifth grade. Like, I mean, every
12:45
obstacle you can imagine was I was set up
12:47
to not be successful. You know what I mean? The
12:49
amount of foster kids that go to college are
12:51
like I mean, it's like hardly none of
12:53
them do. You know? And the amount of foster kids
12:55
that end up on drugs is like insane.
12:58
Amounts of that that that happens to.
13:00
But I just made a choice one time,
13:02
like, I don't wanna I wanna have the best life.
13:04
And so I have had to do a lot of
13:06
mental work still because we're all screwed up and we're
13:08
human and we still it's like a constant tug
13:10
of war sometimes in my own self. Right?
13:12
But the more that I just vigilant about
13:14
it and It's almost two point an hour and
13:16
fifty one has taken me on time, but I it's almost like
13:18
there's not anything I don't believe I can accomplish, you
13:20
know. So -- Yeah. -- not
13:22
like crazy things like flying in the air disappearing. I know
13:24
I can't do that, but I know if it's, like, somebody
13:26
else has done the thing. Yeah. I
13:28
probably pretty much can do it. Yeah.
13:30
So a hundred percent. A hundred
13:32
percent. What do you
13:34
feel the biggest transformation
13:36
that people will get after reading the book
13:38
is gonna be? I think
13:40
it's going to first of all, it's gonna really open
13:42
their eyes that they actually have control and
13:45
that they can't let, you know, their past
13:47
experiences. Like, so many people are so caught up
13:49
in what you know, mom's fall, dad's
13:51
fall, the recession in the economy, my big brother,
13:53
whatever it might be. And
13:55
just realizing that they truly
13:57
can create whatever
13:59
it is that they want. But it it takes work just
14:01
like anything else. Yeah. But it's
14:03
like like every single decision thing
14:05
that we're our life is all based upon decisions
14:07
and choices that we made. Right? It's all
14:09
a choice. Everything came from a decision
14:11
and a choice. So we have
14:14
a choice to take our
14:16
past experiences and use them to help
14:18
us. We have the choice to make our day be
14:20
amazing. We have the choice on how we
14:22
react to something and how we see something.
14:24
Wait. I could get his example. My little friend
14:26
birdie here, he's he's a team member of mine,
14:28
and he was just booking a trip to to
14:30
yesterday to go to San Diego. And
14:32
yesterday, it was, like, nine hundred and fifty
14:34
dollars something like that. Right? Well, he weighed today
14:36
and now today, it was, like, three hundred and fifty dollars. He's,
14:38
like, I packed the ante board that it's three and
14:40
fifty dollars. And so he was a little bummed and I was
14:42
like, hey, everybody happens for a reason. And he goes, you
14:44
know what? I'm gonna listen to podcasts the entire way
14:46
there. I'm gonna get a great mindset. And so he
14:48
just, like, flipped it around. With it. And that
14:50
is I was, like, exactly Brody.
14:52
And so, I mean, that's that is
14:54
everything, regardless. I know that seems like a small
14:56
little thing. And, no, it's everything.
14:59
Yeah. I mean, it's it's every. How
15:01
we perceive
15:04
anything that happens is what
15:06
ultimately dictates our
15:08
experience of life. Yes.
15:10
Right? And and I always say
15:12
this all the time, but, like,
15:14
wealthy, happy, successful people
15:16
deal with the same amount of crap
15:18
that everyone else does. But the
15:20
difference is one group of people
15:22
can turn a challenge into an
15:24
opportunity. They can turn an ops circle
15:26
into a stepping stone. They can see,
15:29
oh, this might look like work, but this
15:31
is actually creating an opportunity versus
15:33
another person who just sees a brick wall.
15:36
And there you have two people that
15:38
are being presented with the same exact
15:40
circumstances, but they're gonna get two totally
15:42
different outcomes. And that that's what you're
15:44
talking about here. Right? Yep.
15:46
Absolutely. Absolutely. And, you know, I I
15:48
mean, I'm not the one to say that we
15:50
we don't still have bad days. Right? There are days where I
15:52
haven't I've got a try not to make it be a day. Sure.
15:54
It could be, like, moments or meetings. Exactly.
15:56
Right? Like, shorter periods of time and to
15:58
always try to find, like, what's what's the
16:00
average student here? What am I missing. What am I
16:02
gonna learn from this? What am I gonna learn from
16:04
this? And inevitably, so many different
16:06
things that that happen that you feel might
16:08
just be horrible. End
16:10
up being the most amazing thing
16:12
that happened. So it's You know, I know
16:14
that some people have gone through really traumatic
16:16
things, and I I've feel for you and I'm I'm I
16:18
know that there's things that have happened that are beyond
16:20
your control. Yeah. But you do have
16:22
control of how you at at
16:24
some point, choose to view that
16:26
situation, move on from that situation,
16:28
move past that situation, and
16:30
enjoy and and live life again. So the book just
16:32
gives you you know, a lot of strategies
16:34
to do that, a lot of fun stories in
16:36
there, and and just just
16:39
ways for you to just live a a
16:41
happier, healthier more fulfilled life, you
16:43
know. Just simple things like showing
16:45
gratitude. Like, there's just even just
16:47
showing gratitude, the the amount
16:49
of positive residual
16:51
effects that the brain has just from you showing
16:53
gratitude lasts over two weeks. I mean, it's
16:55
just insane. And so when
16:57
you really listen to this and go,
16:59
oh my gosh, all these little things. Like, I
17:01
can I can control this and really work on it?
17:03
It's a man. How quickly you can just, like, happy.
17:06
It's so true. It's so true.
17:08
And, I mean, coming from someone like
17:10
yourself that has achieved
17:12
just the extraordinary level of
17:14
accomplishment in your field that you have
17:16
that is really like leading the
17:18
pack. It's just incredible. So Let's
17:20
tell people how they can get the
17:22
book, obviously. Number one, how do they get the
17:24
book? And then number two, let's invite them
17:26
