My special guest is Richard Meraz

Richard Meraz served for 43 years in the Los Angeles Police Department, holding various commanding roles and playing a crucial part in restoring officer morale and community trust post the Rodney King incident. His extensive involvement in coordinating counterterrorist investigations at local and national levels, along with his contributions to the planning of the 1984 Summer Olympics, showcases his adeptness in managing high-stakes situations. Meraz's accolades, including the Valley Bureau Officer of the Year and the Department Meritorious Service Award, underscore his significant contributions to law enforcement. He currently serves as a facilitator for the California Commission of Peace Officer Standards and Training and the Simon Wiesenthal Museum of Tolerance, reflecting his commitment to law enforcement leadership. As a recipient of the Leadership Crucible Foundation Judge John "Jack" Ryan Award for Educator of the Year, Meraz's expertise in law enforcement training further solidifies his standing as a distinguished guest on the Leadership Crucible Foundation podcast.
