Patrick Carroll, Editorial Fellow at the Foundation for Economic Education, joined me to discuss his articles titled "Young Montana Entrepreneur Is Being Legally Barred from Hauling Trash Because Established Players Don’t Want the Competition" and "Food Truck Owners Sue North Carolina Town over Anti-competitive Regulations." He steel mans the case for these protectionist laws. Then he refutes them by explaining the nature of prices, the function of entrepreneurs, the problems with central planning, capitalism’s "creative destruction," and the role of the consumer.
