Bad Dog Distillery is a craft distillery located in Arlington, Washington. Head distiller, Dave McGlothern stays true to traditional methods, even making his own copper stills. Dave is a tinkering kind of man — I imagine his mind is a cyclone of new ideas, while Shelly keeps him reeled in and grounded (she confirmed this!). Dave is humble about his accomplishments though, and lets the distillery do all the bragging. The tour was one of the best we've ever had. We saw their research room and the countless mason jars of test Vodka infusions, liqueurs and a new breed of Bad Dog Whiskey in the works. The most impressive thing about Bad Dog is that Dave utilized his metallurgical knowledge from past careers to fabricate his production stills. The stills are beautiful functional art and by themselves are a reason to visit.
