Mahabhashya or the Great Commentary in English
was a commentary by Maharishi Patanjali on the Selected Rules of Sanskrit Grammer from Panini's Treatise, the "Astha Adhyayi" as well as the Varrtika Sutra from Sage Katyayana Somewhere in the Second Century B.C.
Most of you however would know Maharishi Patanjali from the Yogasutra is that had written during that time.
The inspiration of this podcast and of whatever we do is our Guru Swami Niranjanananda Saraswati.
He Stays On The Banks of the Ganga In The Bihar School Of Yoga, Munger and heads the institution that was setup in 1963 by our beloved Shri Swami Ji, Swami Satyananda Saraswati.

In this first episode, I have with me, Sanyasi Guru Premanand.
He dons this spiritual name that Was given to you him by our Guru Paramhansa Swami Niranjanananda Saraswati.
So been practicing, teaching, and propagating yoga for over 45 years now and through the Yoga Anusandhan Sansthan that he founded in 94 of which I am also a founding member of.
He has undertaken various yoga outreach programs across schools colleges universities government and private sector institutions across the length and breadth of Uttar Pradesh and Beyond.
Selfless in services, his approach toward understanding yoga is a treasure that needs to be preserved.
We discuss his Perspective on yogic sciences, his analysis of the landscape that has changed over the past 4 decades and most importantly how can it be understood in it's right context in today's digitalized world where everything is Being made a brand of out even a Philosophy and a way of living, That is Yoga.
In the introduction, I alluded to the objective of this podcast which was to make it easy for the listener and - maybe sometime in the future - for our viewers to pursue a healthy living as part of their life behavior
I start the podcast by asking Sanyasi Guru Premanand what a normal day look like to him and how he has integrated yoga as part of his lifestyle and life behavior.

In the next 30 minutes, we discuss the 3 of 5 yoga capsules that he practices each day.
Mantra Chanting: We discuss how and why this is not a religious activity and how its vibrations effect the psychic personality of the person
Asana: There is a brief and passing mention of the asanas which we will take in greater detail as we create more content specifically on how to treat the 36 lifestyle illnesses through yogic sciences and nutrition.
Pranayama: We discuss the classical definitions of prana and how is it a life source of human beings. We discuss the Samkhya Framework of looking at a human ecology as composed of 5 sheaths of "koshas"; and how the pranic framework as defined in yogic sciences corresponds to the nervous system and its linkages to the neurological ecosystem in the human body.
We close the podcast by giving a short summary of the points discussed.
