Extra! Extra! Hear all about it.
Taby brings us another notable woman of history, and one Dawn actually likes this time :)
One of the brighter and often overlooked Paleontologists, Mary Anning started as a young 12 year old girl on the coastal shores of England, working the very beach that eventually claimed the life of her father, to find fossils to sell to passing tourists.
Poor and uneducated, a women and therefore often uncredited for her work, Anning became one of the most respected authorities on fossils for her time, and discovered many valuable new species. Many of her finds can be seen today still in the British Natural History Museum.
It's rumored Mary is the "She" from 'She sells sea shells'.
An astute woman, we're not false when we say she really knows her Shit.
