Morgan, Natasha, thank you for joining me today on Press Day.
0:27
Thank you so much. Thanks for having us. Natasha, it's nice to see you again.
0:30
Nice to see you again, too, I was going to say. So, yeah, I mean, I don't even know where to start. I've been asking this question
0:35
all afternoon with the other cast members, too.
0:38
What a ride from season one now heading into season two. The way it ended.
0:43
I need to know, when you've read the script for season two and you're about
0:46
to start filming, what went through your minds? Morgan, we'll start with you first.
0:50
Yeah, I mean, it's a completely different storyline for Crystal,
0:55
at least, and for Haley, too.
0:57
But I think for this season, there's, you know, she's going into a different
1:01
field now, and she's exploring the medical field.
1:05
So I think it was really exciting to see that. And we had our own one on ones with Julie as well.
1:10
And she kind of debriefed us on how the season might go and where they see our characters going.
1:16
So it was really cool to see the arc that they were giving for Crystal of kind
1:21
of losing herself and then finding herself again and doing that journey of self
1:27
through through the season. So, yeah, it was it was really fun
1:30
to explore. And I mean, we were getting episode two episodes at a time.
1:34
So we were kind of getting them at chance as we were going along.
1:37
But I think that once we started to kind of see the full picture,
1:42
you're really starting to piece together everything. And it was a beautiful
1:45
ride to go on, that's for sure. Natasha. Yeah. It's also just fun going into a second season of a show where
1:53
your characters have been established. Which is like primarily the important thing in, in season one is establishing,
1:58
establishing these characters and establishing their relationships and,
2:03
you know, and the environment of the show.
2:05
And so then, you know, immediately going into a second season, there's just a lot more,
2:09
I think, added weight to each character and
2:12
each storyline and a lot more to play with there which which
2:15
is really fun and so yeah you know going into the second season
2:18
i was like oof i'm gonna have to buckle emotionally
2:21
i'm gonna have to make sure i'm getting sleep and i'm taking
2:24
care of myself because hayley went on quite quite a
2:27
ride this season and it's it's great what great is
2:30
what's great is this show has a decent size fandom
2:33
and when we were waiting for the news for a
2:36
season two to finally get picked up and there's diehard
2:39
fans out there what do you you hoping for they get out of the season when they tune in
2:42
yeah i mean i hope they they fall
2:45
even more in love with these characters i think you know
2:47
as i said before there's a lot more room to
2:50
play with in a second season of a show with you know sort of twists and turns
2:55
and different directions that characters and are going and with our amazing
2:59
additions this season with new characters sydney and and ryan who had a bigger
3:04
part this year i just you know allowed allowed more fun in sort of,
3:10
you know, relationships and love triangles and things got messy, but also beautiful.
3:15
And there's some new, you know, relationships and whatnot.
3:18
So, yeah, I hope the audience just falls even more in love with these characters and these storylines.
3:24
Morgan? Yeah, I think to add to that, everyone...
3:30
Brought there all this season and i think also with that
3:33
another addition was nadine whitman as well
3:35
who plays dr vienna and i think
3:38
that they need to buckle up because this season is was really really fun it
3:45
was also really beautifully challenging i think for each character and diving
3:49
into to everyone's characters you get to see where all of these kind of trials
3:55
and tribulations come come from, from each person from this season,
3:58
because, you know, you, you see in from the first season, everyone is kind of
4:02
establishing their characters, like Natasha said.
4:05
And then for the second season, you get to dive a lot more into where that comes
4:09
from, and the root cause of it all.
4:11
And everyone kind of has that place within the second season.
4:16
So it was it was beautiful to watch everyone bring bring that to their characters
4:21
this season and and see what the writers were we're thinking of bringing as well.
4:26
You mentioned the new cast. How did you break the new cast in?
4:29
Because during the first season, you guys lived together while you were filming this.
4:33
How was it bringing these, the extra cast members now in?
4:36
Oh my gosh, it was so fun. I mean, they, they are so great. They fit in immediately
4:40
and they were all actually living at the same hotel.
4:43
So I think they had, they got to have a similar experience as Morgan and I,
4:47
the rest of us had during season one, Morgan and I lived together this year in a house.
4:52
And so we were kind of doing our own thing and being a little bit more,
4:55
again, I was prioritizing my sleep and my health throughout this season just
5:01
because of the ride that Haley was on and whatnot.
5:05
But anyways, I think, yeah, I think they all definitely had some fun.
5:09
And it was, I mean, it was a really, it was really easy.
5:12
They fit right in and they're, you know, we're so lucky that we have such an
5:15
incredible group of people that we get to work with every day. So it was a real treat.
5:20
Anything to add to that, Morgan? Morgan? Yeah. I mean, she said it exactly how
5:24
it is. Everyone fit in so well. And also they're just amazing talents and they, they.
5:30
Get their characters so well and they brought everything that
5:34
i would have loved to see for for
5:37
this season so their phenomenal talents are also phenomenal humans and they
5:43
fit right in i mean i there was no no complaints at all right um for the for
5:49
the while you're filming this series and everything you know we have like emotional
5:52
scenes emergencies bromance like what's your your favorite to get into?
5:57
Good question. I had a really, I had a really fun time diving into Haley's,
6:07
what she's going through without giving too much away.
6:10
You know, she obviously has pushed a lot of her trauma from her past down and,
6:16
and, you know, tried to distract herself in, in a lot of different ways in order
6:20
to not acknowledge and accept what, what has happened.
6:23
I think she really obviously struggles with the passing of her mom and not being
6:28
there for her and not being able to say goodbye. And she holds a lot of regret. And that's this like, just deep,
6:34
deep weight that is constantly holding her down.
6:37
And she's constantly trying to find things to distract herself and to make herself feel better.
6:41
And so for me, you know, when it was finally time for Haley to acknowledge those
6:46
things and come to terms with those things and and accept them.
6:50
That was really empowering and inspiring because I think it's part of the human
6:56
experience that sometimes we want to run instead of deal.
7:01
And so for me, yeah, it was inspiring to play and it was very raw and vulnerable,
7:08
but really invigorating.
7:11
And it felt really powerful. It almost felt like, you know, a part of me was
7:14
also letting go of things and, you know, it was, it was kind of therapeutic.
7:20
So, yeah, that was something that, that I, that I enjoyed doing. Yeah, I think.
7:27
For, I mean, for Crystal anyways, for this season,
7:31
her love life isn't so great or it's just maybe a little bit sparser,
7:35
but so she's really focusing on self this season and she's really trying to
7:41
find her way back to herself. So that was really fun to explore.
7:45
And also for Crystal, just not being in charge all the time.
7:50
She really has to take a step back this season because now she's a student and
7:54
she doesn't get to be the one that calls all the shots now. She's not the one that knows everything.
7:59
So I think her ego gets a little bit in the way for herself just at the beginning.
8:04
And then she really starts to, I think, find her footing near the end and finds
8:10
herself again, especially within this industry or within that field specifically.
8:15
And being a woman, being a BIPOC, you know, someone who maybe has a little bit
8:22
of, might have a little bit of a harder trek when it comes to, to the specific field.
8:28
And I think that's where her and her mentor really get each other in that sense.
8:34
And they lean on each other in that way. So that was really fun to explore for this season.
8:39
And then who knows what happens with, with love in the end. And we'll see.
8:46
Morgan, Natasha, I want to thank you for giving me a few minutes today for press
8:49
day. And, you know, hopefully we do it again in another year with season three.
8:53
Absolutely. Yes, absolutely. Thank you. Bye. Bye.
